Cara á cara habló Jehová con vosotros en el monte de en medio del fuego,

Moi, je me tenais, en ce temps-là, entre l'Éternel et vous, pour vous exposer la parole de l'Éternel, parce que, terrifiés par la flamme, vous n'approchâtes point de la montagne; et il disait:
(Yo estaba entonces entre Jehová y vosotros, para denunciaros la palabra de Jehová; porque vosotros tuvisteis temor del fuego, y no subisteis al monte;) diciendo:
(I stood between the LORD and you at that time, to shew you the word of the LORD: for ye were afraid by reason of the fire, and went not up into the mount;) saying,

(I). "Je suis l'Éternel, ton Dieu, qui t'ai fait sortir du pays d'Egypte, d'une maison d'esclavage. (II). Tu n'auras point d'autre Dieu que moi.
Yo soy Jehová tu Dios, que te saqué de tierra de Egipto, de casa de siervos.
I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

Tu ne te feras point d'idole, l'image de quoi que ce soit dans le ciel en haut, ou en bas sur la terre, ou dans les eaux au-dessous de la terre.
No tendrás dioses extraños delante de mí.

No harás para ti escultura, ni imagen alguna de cosa que está arriba en los cielos, ó abajo en la tierra, ó en las aguas debajo de la tierra:
Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:
“You shall not make a carved image for yourself—any likeness of what is in heaven above, or what is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
et qui étends mes faveurs à la millième, pour ceux qui m'aiment et gardent mes commandements.
No te inclinarás á ellas ni les servirás: porque yo soy Jehová tu Dios, fuerte, celoso, que visito la iniquidad de los padres sobre los hijos, y sobre los terceros, y sobre los cuartos, á los que me aborrecen,
Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,

(III). Tu n'invoqueras point le nom de l'Éternel, ton Dieu, à l'appui du mensonge; car l'Éternel ne laisse pas impuni celui qui invoque son nom pour le mensonge.
Y que hago misericordia á millares á los que me aman, y guardan mis mandamientos.
And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.

(IV). Observe le jour du Sabbat pour le sanctifier, comme te l'a prescrit l'Éternel, ton Dieu.
No tomarás en vano el nombre de Jehová tu Dios; porque Jehová no dará por inocente al que tomare en vano su nombre.
Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
“You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who misuses his name.
Durant six jours tu travailleras et t'occuperas de toutes tes affaires;
Guardarás el día del reposo para santificarlo, como Jehová tu Dios te ha mandado.
Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee.
“Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the LORD your God commanded you.
mais le septième jour est la trêve de l'Éternel, ton Dieu: tu n'y feras aucun travail, toi, ton fils ni ta fille, ton esclave mâle ou femelle, ton bœuf, ton âne, ni tes autres bêtes, non plus que l'étranger qui est dans tes murs; car ton serviteur et ta servante doivent se reposer comme toi.
Seis días trabajarás y harás toda tu obra:
Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work:
You shall labor six days, and do all your work;
Et tu te souviendras que tu fus esclave au pays d'Egypte, et que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, t'en a fait sortir d'une main puissante et d'un bras étendu; c'est pourquoi l'Éternel, ton Dieu, t'a prescrit d'observer te jour du Sabbat.
Mas el séptimo es reposo á Jehová tu Dios: ninguna obra harás tú, ni tu hijo, ni tu hija, ni tu siervo, ni tu sierva, ni tu buey, ni tu asno, ni ningún animal tuyo, ni tu peregrino que está dentro de tus puertas: porque descanse tu siervo y tu sierva como tú.
But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.

(V). Honore ton père et ta mère, comme te l'a prescrit l'Éternel, ton Dieu, afin de prolonger tes jours et de vivre heureux sur la terre que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, te destine.
Y acuérdate que fuiste siervo en tierra de Egipto, y que Jehová tu Dios te sacó de allá con mano fuerte y brazo extendido: por lo cual Jehová tu Dios te ha mandado que guardes el día del reposo.
And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.

(VI). Ne commets point d'homicide. (VII). Ne commets point d'adultère. (VIII). Ne commets point de larcin. (IX). Ne porte point contre ton prochain un faux témoignage.
Honra á tu padre y á tu madre, como Jehová tu Dios te ha mandado, para que sean prolongados tus días, y para que te vaya bien sobre la tierra que Jehová tu Dios te da.
Honour thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

(X). Ne convoite point la femme de ton prochain, et ne désire la maison de ton prochain ni son champ, son esclave ni sa servante, son bœuf ni son âne, ni rien de ce qui est à ton prochain."

Ces paroles, l'Éternel les adressa à toute votre assemblée sur la montagne, du milieu des feux, des nuées et de la brume, d'une voix puissante, sans y rien ajouter; puis il les écrivit sur deux tables de pierre, qu'il me remit.
No adulterarás.
Neither shalt thou commit adultery.
“You shall not commit adultery.
Or, quand vous eûtes entendu cette voix sortir du sein des ténèbres, tandis que la montagne était en feu, vous vîntes tous à moi, les chefs de vos tribus et vos anciens,
No hurtarás.
Neither shalt thou steal.
“You shall not steal.
en disant: "Certes, l'Éternel, notre Dieu, nous a révélé sa gloire et sa grandeur, et nous avons entendu sa voix du milieu de la flamme; nous avons vu aujourd'hui Dieu parler à l'homme et celui-ci vivre!
No dirás falso testimonio contra tu prójimo.
Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbour.
“You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
Mais désormais, pourquoi nous exposer à mourir, consumés par cette grande flamme? Si nous entendons une fois de plus la voix de l'Éternel, notre Dieu, nous sommes morts.
No codiciarás la mujer de tu prójimo, ni desearás la casa de tu prójimo, ni su tierra, ni su siervo, ni su sierva, ni su buey, ni su asno, ni ninguna cosa que sea de tu prójimo.
Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbour’s wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbour’s house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbour’s.
“You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife. Neither shall you desire your neighbor’s house, his field, or his male servant, or his female servant, his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.”
Car est-il une seule créature qui ait entendu, comme nous, la voix du Dieu vivant parler du milieu du feu, et soit demeurée vivante?
Estas palabras habló Jehová á toda vuestra congregación en el monte, de en medio del fuego, de la nube y de la oscuridad, á gran voz: y no añadió más. Y escribiólas en dos tablas de piedra, las cuales me dió á mí.
These words the LORD spake unto all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me.

Y aconteció, que como vosotros oisteis la voz de en medio de las tinieblas, y visteis al monte que ardía en fuego, llegasteis á mí todos los príncipes de vuestras tribus, y vuestros ancianos;
And it came to pass, when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, (for the mountain did burn with fire,) that ye came near unto me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;
When you heard the voice out of the middle of the darkness, while the mountain was burning with fire, you came near to me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;
L'Éternel entendit les paroles que vous m'adressiez, et il me dit: "J'ai ouï la voix de ce peuple, les paroles qu'il t'adresse: tout ce qu'ils ont dit est bien dit.
Y dijisteis: He aquí, Jehová nuestro Dios nos ha mostrado su gloria y su grandeza, y hemos oído su voz de en medio del fuego: hoy hemos visto que Jehová habla al hombre, y éste vive.
And ye said, Behold, the LORD our God hath shewed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth.

Ah! S'ils pouvaient conserver en tout temps cette disposition à me craindre et à garder tous mes commandements! Alors ils seraient heureux, et leurs enfants aussi, à jamais!
Ahora pues, ¿por qué moriremos? que este gran fuego nos consumirá: si tornáremos á oir la voz de Jehová nuestro Dios, moriremos.
Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, then we shall die.

Va, dis-leur de rentrer dans leurs tentes;
Porque, ¿qué es toda carne, para que oiga la voz del Dios viviente que habla de en medio del fuego, como nosotros la oímos, y viva?
For who is there of all flesh, that hath heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived?
For who is there of all flesh who has heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the middle of the fire, as we have, and lived?
toi ensuite, tu resteras ici avec moi, et je te dirai toute la loi, et les statuts et les règles que tu dois leur enseigner, afin qu'ils les observent dans le pays dont je leur destine la possession."
Llega tú, y oye todas las cosas que dijere Jehová nuestro Dios; y tú nos dirás todo lo que Jehová nuestro Dios te dijere, y nosotros oiremos y haremos.
Go thou near, and hear all that the LORD our God shall say: and speak thou unto us all that the LORD our God shall speak unto thee; and we will hear it, and do it.

Ayez donc soin d'observer ce que l'Éternel, votre Dieu, vous a ordonné; ne vous en écartez ni à droite ni à gauche.
Y oyó Jehová la voz de vuestras palabras, cuando me hablabais; y díjome Jehová: He oído la voz de las palabras de este pueblo, que ellos te han hablado: bien está todo lo que han dicho.
And the LORD heard the voice of your words, when ye spake unto me; and the LORD said unto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken unto thee: they have well said all that they have spoken.

Toute la voie que l'Éternel, votre Dieu, vous a tracée, suivez-la, et vous vivrez heureux, et vous aurez de longs jours dans le pays que vous posséderez.
¡Quién diera que tuviesen tal corazón, que me temiesen, y guardasen todos los días todos mis mandamientos, para que á ellos y á sus hijos les fuese bien para siempre!

Ve, diles: Volveos á vuestras tiendas.

Y tú estáte aquí conmigo, y te diré todos los mandamientos, y estatutos, y derechos, que les has de enseñar, á fin que los pongan ahora por obra en la tierra que yo les doy para poseerla.
But as for thee, stand thou here by me, and I will speak unto thee all the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which thou shalt teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it.

Mirad, pues, que hagáis como Jehová vuestro Dios os ha mandado: no os apartéis á diestra ni á siniestra;
