Hear, O Israel: Thou art to pass over Jordan this day, to go in to possess nations greater and mightier than thyself, cities great and fenced up to heaven,

un pueblo de grande y alta estatura, los hijos de los enaceos, que tú mismo has visto y cuya fama has oído, y a quienes nadie puede contrarrestar.
Un pueblo grande y alto, hijos de gigantes, de los cuales tienes tú conocimiento, y has oído decir: ¿Quién se sostendrá delante de los hijos del gigante?
A people great and tall, the children of the Anakims, whom thou knowest, and of whom thou hast heard say, Who can stand before the children of Anak!

Pues has de saber hoy que irá delante de ti el mismo Dios tuyo, fuego devorador y consumidor, que los ha de desmenuzar y consumir, y disipar delante de tus ojos rápidamente, como te lo ha prometido.
Sabe, pues, hoy que Jehová tu Dios es el que pasa delante de ti, fuego consumidor, que los destruirá y humillará delante de ti: y tú los echarás, y los destruirás luego, como Jehová te ha dicho.
Understand therefore this day, that the LORD thy God is he which goeth over before thee; as a consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them down before thy face: so shalt thou drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as the LORD hath said unto thee.
Know therefore today that the LORD your God is he who goes over before you as a devouring fire. He will destroy them and he will bring them down before you. So you shall drive them out and make them perish quickly, as the LORD has spoken to you.
No digas en tu corazón cuando el Señor Dios tuyo los haya deshecho en tu presencia: Por razón de la justicia que ha visto en mí, me ha introducido el Señor en la posesión de esta tierra; siendo cierto que por sus impiedades son asoladas estas naciones.
No discurras en tu corazón cuando Jehová tu Dios los habrá echado de delante de ti, diciendo: Por mi justicia me ha metido Jehová á poseer esta tierra; pues por la impiedad de estas gentes Jehová las echa de delante de ti.
Speak not thou in thine heart, after that the LORD thy God hath cast them out from before thee, saying, For my righteousness the LORD hath brought me in to possess this land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD doth drive them out from before thee.
Don’t say in your heart, after the LORD your God has thrust them out from before you, “For my righteousness the LORD has brought me in to possess this land;” because the LORD drives them out before you because of the wickedness of these nations.
Porque no por tus virtudes, ni por la rectitud de corazón entrarás a poseer sus tierras; sino porque aquéllas obraron impíamente, por eso al entrar tú han sido destruidas; y a fin de cumplir Dios su palabra, que confirmó con juramento a tus padres Abrahán, Isaac y Jacob .
No por tu justicia, ni por la rectitud de tu corazón entras á poseer la tierra de ellos; mas por la impiedad de estas gentes Jehová tu Dios las echa de delante de ti, y por confirmar la palabra que Jehová juró á tus padres Abraham, Isaac, y Jacob.
Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thine heart, dost thou go to possess their land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may perform the word which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Not for your righteousness or for the uprightness of your heart do you go in to possess their land; but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD your God does drive them out from before you, and that he may establish the word which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
Ten, pues, entendido que no por tus virtudes te ha dado el Señor Dios tuyo en posesión esta excelente tierra, pues eres un pueblo de durísima cerviz.
Por tanto, sabe que no por tu justicia Jehová tu Dios te da esta buena tierra para poseerla; que pueblo duro de cerviz eres tú.
Understand therefore, that the LORD thy God giveth thee not this good land to possess it for thy righteousness; for thou art a stiffnecked people.
Know therefore that the LORD your God doesn’t give you this good land to possess for your righteousness, for you are a stiff-necked people.
Acuérdate y no te olvides que provocaste a ira al Señor Dios tuyo en el desierto. Desde el día que saliste de Egipto hasta este lugar, siempre has sido rebelde al Señor.
Acuérdate, no te olvides que has provocado á ira á Jehová tu Dios en el desierto: desde el día que saliste de la tierra de Egipto, hasta que entrasteis en este lugar, habéis sido rebeldes á Jehová.
Remember, and forget not, how thou provokedst the LORD thy God to wrath in the wilderness: from the day that thou didst depart out of the land of Egypt, until ye came unto this place, ye have been rebellious against the LORD.

Pues ya en Horeb lo provocaste, y airado te quiso destruir,
Y en Horeb provocasteis á ira á Jehová, y enojóse Jehová contra vosotros para destruiros.

cuando yo subí al monte para recibir las tablas de piedra, las tablas de la Alianza que hizo el Señor con vosotros, y me mantuve en el monte cuarenta días y cuarenta noches, sin comer ni beber.

Entonces me dio el Señor dos tablas de piedra escritas con el dedo de Dios, y que contenían todas las palabras que os habló en el monte, desde el medio del fuego, estando junto todo el pueblo.
Y dióme Jehová las dos tablas de piedra escritas con el dedo de Dios; y en ellas estaba escrito conforme á todas las palabras que os habló Jehová en el monte de en medio del fuego, el día de la asamblea.
And the LORD delivered unto me two tables of stone written with the finger of God; and on them was written according to all the words, which the LORD spake with you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly.

Y díjome Jehová: Levántate, desciende presto de aquí; que tu pueblo que sacaste de Egipto se ha corrompido: pronto se han apartado del camino que yo les mandé: hanse hecho una efigie de fundición.
And the LORD said unto me, Arise, get thee down quickly from hence; for thy people which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt have corrupted themselves; they are quickly turned aside out of the way which I commanded them; they have made them a molten image.
The LORD said to me, “Arise, get down quickly from here; for your people whom you have brought out of Egypt have corrupted themselves. They have quickly turned away from the way which I commanded them. They have made a molten image for themselves!”
Díjome también el Señor: Veo que ese pueblo es de dura cerviz:
Y hablóme Jehová, diciendo: He visto ese pueblo, y he aquí, que él es pueblo duro de cerviz:

déjame que lo reduzca a polvo, y borre su nombre de debajo del cielo, y te haga caudillo de otra nación que sea más grande y poderosa que no ésta.
Déjame que los destruya, y raiga su nombre de debajo del cielo; que yo te pondré sobre gente fuerte y mucha más que ellos.
Let me alone, that I may destroy them, and blot out their name from under heaven: and I will make of thee a nation mightier and greater than they.

Bajando, pues, del monte, el cual estaba ardiendo, y teniendo en las manos las dos tablas de la Alianza,

And I fell down before the LORD, as at the first, forty days and forty nights: I did neither eat bread, nor drink water, because of all your sins which ye sinned, in doing wickedly in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

porque temí la indignación y saña que había concebido contra vosotros, y que lo estimulaban a exterminaros. Y el Señor me oyó aún por esta vez.

También en el lugar que por eso se llamó del Incendio, en el otro de la Tentación, y en el llamado Sepulcros de la Concupiscencia o antojo, provocasteis al Señor;

y cuando os encaminó desde Cadesbarne, diciendo: Subid a tomar posesión de la tierra que os he dado, también despreciasteis el mandato del Señor Dios vuestro, y no le creísteis, y ni quisisteis escuchar su voz;

no sea que digan los moradores de la tierra de donde nos has sacado: No podía el Señor introducirlos en la tierra que les prometió, y los aborrecía; por eso los sacó para matarlos en el desierto.
