Eclesiastés 12

Jeune homme, réjouis-toi en ton jeune âge, et que ton coeur te rende gai aux jours de ta jeunesse, et marche comme ton coeur te mène, et selon le regard de tes yeux ; mais sache que pour toutes ces choses Dieu t’amènera en jugement.

Y ACUÉRDATE de tu Criador en los días de tu juventud, antes que vengan los malos días, y lleguen los años, de los cuales digas, No tengo en ellos contentamiento;

Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

Ôte le chagrin de ton coeur, et éloigne de toi le mal ; car le jeune âge et l’adolescence ne sont que vanité.

Antes que se oscurezca el sol, y la luz, y la luna y las estrellas, y las nubes se tornen tras la lluvia:

Mais souviens-toi de ton Créateur aux jours de ta jeunesse, avant que les jours mauvais viennent, et avant que les années arrivent desquelles tu dises : Je n’y prends point de plaisir.

Cuando temblarán los guardas de la casa, y se encorvarán los hombres fuertes, y cesarán las muelas, porque han disminuído, y se oscurecerán los que miran por las ventanas;

Avant que le soleil, la lumière, la lune et les étoiles s’obscurcissent, et que les nuées viennent l’une sur l’autre après la pluie.

Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:

yes, they shall be afraid of heights, and terrors will be on the way; and the almond tree shall blossom, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail; because man goes to his everlasting home, and the mourners go about the streets;

Et quand les deux battants de la porte seront fermés vers la rue, avec abaissement du son de la meule ; quand on se lèvera à la voix de l’oiseau, et que toutes les chanteuses seront abaissées.

Antes que la cadena de plata se quiebre, y se rompa el cuenco de oro, y el cántaro se quiebre junto á la fuente, y la rueda sea rota sobre el pozo;

Quand aussi l’on craindra ce qui est haut, et qu’on tremblera en allant ; quand l’amandier fleurira, et quand les cigales se rendront pesantes ; et que l’appétit s’en ira, (car l’homme s’en va dans la maison où il demeurera à toujours,) et quand on fera le tour par les rues, en menant deuil.

Y el polvo se torne á la tierra, como era, y el espíritu se vuelva á Dios que lo dió.

Vanidad de vanidades, dijo el Predicador, todo vanidad.

Et avant que la poudre retourne en la terre, comme elle y avait été, et que l’esprit retourne à Dieu, qui l’a donné.

Vanité des vanités, dit l’Ecclésiaste, tout est vanité.

Procuró el Predicador hallar palabras agradables, y escritura recta, palabras de verdad.

Plus l’Ecclésiaste a été sage, plus il a enseigné la science au peuple ; il a fait entendre, il a recherché et mis en ordre plusieurs graves sentences.

Las palabras de los sabios son como aguijones; y como clavos hincados, las de los maestros de las congregaciones, dadas por un Pastor.

The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.

L’Ecclésiaste a cherché pour trouver des discours agréables ; mais ce qui en a été écrit ici, est la droiture même ; ce sont des paroles de vérité.

Ahora, hijo mío, á más de esto, sé avisado. No hay fin de hacer muchos libros; y el mucho estudio aflicción es de la carne.

And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

Les paroles des sages sont comme des aiguillons, et les maîtres qui en ont fait des recueils, sont comme des clous fichés, et ces choses ont été données par un Pasteur.

El fin de todo el discurso oído es este: Teme á Dios, y guarda sus mandamientos; porque esto es el todo del hombre.

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

This is the end of the matter. All has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man.

Mon fils garde-toi de ce qui est au-delà de ceci ; car il n’y a point de fin à faire plusieurs Livres, et tant d’étude n’est que travail qu’on se donne.

Porque Dios traerá toda obra á juicio, el cual se hará sobre toda cosa oculta, buena ó mala.

For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Le but de tout le discours qui a été ouï, c’est : Crains Dieu, et garde ses commandements ; car c’est là le tout de l’homme.
