Puis, je me mis à passer en revue sagesse, folie et sottise: "Car, me disais-je, que †pourra faire l'homme qui viendra après le roi? Celui-ci aura déjà tout fait."

Después torné yo á mirar para ver la sabiduría y los desvaríos y la necedad; (porque ¿qué hombre hay que pueda seguir al rey en lo que ya hicieron?)

And I turned myself to behold wisdom, and madness, and folly: for what can the man do that cometh after the king? even that which hath been already done.

I turned myself to consider wisdom, madness, and folly; for what can the king’s successor do? Just that which has been done long ago.
