Certainement j’ai appliqué mon cœur à tout ceci ; et pour éclaircir tout ceci, savoir que les justes et les sages, et leurs faits sont en la main de Dieu ; mais les hommes ne connaissent ni l’amour ni la haine de tout ce qui est devant eux.

CIERTAMENTE dado he mi corazón á todas estas cosas, para declarar todo esto: que los justos y los sabios, y sus obras, están en la mano de Dios; y que no sabe el hombre ni el amor ni el odio por todo lo que pasa delante de él.

For all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God: no man knoweth either love or hatred by all that is before them.

Tout arrive également à tous ; un même accident arrive au juste et au méchant ; au bon, au net, et au souillé ; à celui qui sacrifie, et à celui qui ne sacrifie point ; le pécheur est comme l’homme de bien ; celui qui jure, comme celui qui craint de jurer.

Todo acontece de la misma manera á todos: un mismo suceso ocurre al justo y al impío; al bueno y al limpio y al no limpio; al que sacrifica, y al que no sacrifica: como el bueno, así el que peca; el que jura, como el que teme el juramento.

All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that sweareth, as he that feareth an oath.

C’est ici une chose fâcheuse entre toutes celles qui se font sous le soleil, qu’un même accident arrive à tous, et qu’aussi le cœur des hommes est plein de maux, et que des folies occupent leurs cœurs durant leur vie, et après cela ils vont vers les morts.

Este mal hay entre todo lo que se hace debajo del sol, que todos tengan un mismo suceso, y también que el corazón de los hijos de los hombres esté lleno de mal, y de enloquecimiento en su corazón durante su vida: y después, á los muertos.

Et qui est celui qui leur voudrait être associé ? Il y a de l’espérance pour tous ceux qui sont encore vivants : et même un chien vivant vaut mieux qu’un lion mort.

Aussi leur amour, leur haine, leur envie a déjà péri, et ils n’ont plus aucune part au monde dans tout ce qui se fait sous le soleil.

También su amor, y su odio y su envidia, feneció ya: ni tiene ya más parte en el siglo, en todo lo que se hace debajo del sol.

Les paroles des sages doivent être écoutées plus paisiblement que le cri de celui qui domine entre les fous.

Las palabras del sabio con reposo son oídas, más que el clamor del señor entre los necios.

The words of wise men are heard in quiet more than the cry of him that ruleth among fools.

Mieux vaut la sagesse que tous les instruments de guerre ; et un seul homme pécheur détruit un grand bien.
