Eclesiastés 9

Dies alles habe ich mir zu Herzen genommen, und dies habe ich zu erkennen gesucht, daß die Gerechten und die Weisen und ihre Werke in der Hand Gottes sind. Der Mensch merkt weder Liebe noch Haß; es steht ihnen alles bevor, den einen wie den andern.

CIERTAMENTE dado he mi corazón á todas estas cosas, para declarar todo esto: que los justos y los sabios, y sus obras, están en la mano de Dios; y que no sabe el hombre ni el amor ni el odio por todo lo que pasa delante de él.

For all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God: no man knoweth either love or hatred by all that is before them.

Es kann dem Gerechten dasselbe begegnen wie dem Gottlosen, dem Guten und Reinen wie dem Unreinen, dem, der opfert, wie dem, der nicht opfert; dem Guten wie dem Sünder, dem, welcher schwört, wie dem, welcher sich vor dem Eide fürchtet.

Todo acontece de la misma manera á todos: un mismo suceso ocurre al justo y al impío; al bueno y al limpio y al no limpio; al que sacrifica, y al que no sacrifica: como el bueno, así el que peca; el que jura, como el que teme el juramento.

All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that sweareth, as he that feareth an oath.

Das ist das Schlimme bei allem, was unter der Sonne geschieht, daß allen dasselbe begegnet; daher wird auch das Herz der Menschen voll Bosheit, und Übermut ist in ihren Herzen ihr Leben lang, und darnach müssen sie sterben!

Deine Kleider seien jederzeit weiß, und laß auf deinem Haupte das Öl nie fehlen.

Alles, was deine Hand zu tun vorfindet, das tue mit deiner ganzen Kraft; denn im Totenreich, dahin du gehst, ist kein Wirken mehr und kein Planen, keine Wissenschaft und keine Weisheit!

Auch das habe ich als Weisheit angesehen unter der Sonne, und sie schien mir groß:

Gegen eine kleine Stadt, in welcher wenig Männer waren, kam ein großer König und belagerte sie und baute große Belagerungstürme wider sie.
