Todas estas cosas traté en mi corazón, poniendo todo cuidado en averiguarlas. Los justos y los sabios, y las obras de ellos, están en las manos de Dios; y con ello no sabe el hombre si es digno de amor o de odio;

Esta es la cosa más intrincada y peligrosa de todas cuantas pasan debajo del sol, el ver que todos están sujetos a los mismos azares, de donde nace que los corazones de los hijos de los hombres se llenan de malicia y de orgullo durante su vida, y después de esto son llevados a los infiernos.
Este mal hay entre todo lo que se hace debajo del sol, que todos tengan un mismo suceso, y también que el corazón de los hijos de los hombres esté lleno de mal, y de enloquecimiento en su corazón durante su vida: y después, á los muertos.
