Efesios 4

Yo, pues, que estoy prisionero por servir al Señor, les ruego con todo cariño que se comporten como es digno de los que han sido llamados por Dios.

YO pues, preso en el Señor, os ruego que andéis como es digno de la vocación con que sois llamados;

I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to walk worthily of the calling with which you were called,

Sean totalmente humildes y amables. Sean pacientes entre ustedes y, por amor, sean tolerantes unos con otros.

Con toda humildad y mansedumbre, con paciencia soportando los unos á los otros en amor;

With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love,

Esfuércense por mantener la unidad creada por el Espíritu, por medio de la paz que nos une.

Solícitos á guardar la unidad del Espíritu en el vínculo de la paz.

Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Somos un solo cuerpo y tenemos un mismo Espíritu; además, hemos sido llamados a una misma esperanza.

Un cuerpo, y un Espíritu; como sois también llamados á una misma esperanza de vuestra vocación:

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

There is one body and one Spirit, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling,

Sólo hay un Señor, una fe y un bautismo;

Un Señor, una fe, un bautismo,

One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

one Lord, one faith, one baptism,

y tenemos el mismo Dios y Padre, que está sobre todos nosotros. Él actúa por medio de todos nosotros y está en todos nosotros.

Un Dios y Padre de todos, el cual es sobre todas las cosas, y por todas las cosas, y en todos vosotros.

One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in us all.

Sin embargo, debido a su amor, Cristo nos ha dado a cada uno de nosotros dones diferentes.

Empero á cada uno de nosotros es dada la gracia conforme á la medida del don de Cristo.

But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

But to each one of us, the grace was given according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

Por eso un salmo dice: «Cuando el Señor subió a lo alto, llevó consigo a los cautivos, y dio dones a los hombres».

Por lo cual dice: Subiendo á lo alto, llevó cautiva la cautividad, y dió dones á los hombres.

Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

Therefore he says, “When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts to people.”

¿Qué quiere decir eso de que «subió»? Eso implica que primero descendió hasta lo más bajo de la tierra.

(Y que subió, ¿qué es, sino que también había descendido primero á las partes más bajas de la tierra?

(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

Now this, “He ascended”, what is it but that he also first descended into the lower parts of the earth?

Pues bien, el que descendió, luego regresó a lo más alto de los cielos para poder llenarlo todo.

El que descendió, él mismo es el que también subió sobre todos los cielos para cumplir todas las cosas.)

He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.

Y a algunos les dio el don de ser apóstoles; a otros, el don de ser profetas; a otros, el de anunciar las buenas nuevas; y a otros, el don de pastorear y educar al pueblo de Dios.

Y él mismo dió unos, ciertamente apóstoles; y otros, profetas; y otros, evangelistas; y otros, pastores y doctores;

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, shepherds and teachers;

Su propósito es que su pueblo esté perfectamente capacitado para servir a los demás, y para ayudar al cuerpo de Cristo a crecer.

Para perfección de los santos, para la obra del ministerio, para edificación del cuerpo de Cristo;

For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

for the perfecting of the saints, to the work of serving, to the building up of the body of Christ,

De esta manera, todos llegaremos a estar unidos en la fe y en el conocimiento del Hijo de Dios, hasta que lleguemos a ser una humanidad en plena madurez, tal como es Cristo.

Hasta que todos lleguemos á la unidad de la fe y del conocimiento del Hijo de Dios, á un varón perfecto, á la medida de la edad de la plenitud de Cristo:

Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a full grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,

Así dejaremos de ser como niños que cambian de creencias cada vez que alguien les dice algo diferente o logra astutamente que sus mentiras parezcan verdades.

Que ya no seamos niños fluctuantes, y llevados por doquiera de todo viento de doctrina, por estratagema de hombres que, para engañar, emplean con astucia los artificios del error:

That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

that we may no longer be children, tossed back and forth and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error;

Más bien, al vivir la verdad con amor, creceremos y cada vez seremos más semejantes en todo a Cristo, que es nuestra Cabeza.

Antes siguiendo la verdad en amor, crezcamos en todas cosas en aquel que es la cabeza, á saber, Cristo;

But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

but speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him who is the head, Christ,

Por lo que él hace, cada una de las partes del cuerpo, según el don recibido, ayuda a las demás para que el cuerpo entero y unido crezca y se nutra de amor.

Del cual, todo el cuerpo compuesto y bien ligado entre sí por todas las junturas de su alimento, que recibe según la operación, cada miembro conforme á su medida toma aumento de cuerpo edificándose en amor.

From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

from whom all the body, being fitted and knit together through that which every joint supplies, according to the working in measure of each individual part, makes the body increase to the building up of itself in love.

Por eso les digo e insisto de parte del Señor que no vivan ya como los paganos: ciegos y confundidos.

Esto pues digo, y requiero en el Señor, que no andéis más como los otros Gentiles, que andan en la vanidad de su sentido,

This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,

This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind,

Ellos tienen nublada la mente y desconocen la vida que viene de Dios. Esto se debe a que son ignorantes y han endurecido su corazón.

Teniendo el entendimiento entenebrecido, ajenos de la vida de Dios por la ignorancia que en ellos hay, por la dureza de su corazón:

Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their hearts.

Así, después de haber perdido la vergüenza, se han entregado sin freno alguno a cometer toda clase de inmoralidades. A pesar de que hacen cuanta maldad les viene en gana, nunca están satisfechos.

Los cuales después que perdieron el sentido de la conciencia, se entregaron á la desvergüenza para cometer con avidez toda suerte de impureza.

Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

They, having become callous, gave themselves up to lust, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

¡Pero eso no es lo que ustedes aprendieron acerca de Cristo!

Mas vosotros no habéis aprendido así á Cristo:

But ye have not so learned Christ;

But you didn’t learn Christ that way,

Si de veras han escuchado acerca del Señor y han aprendido a vivir como él, saben que la verdad está en Jesús.

Si empero lo habéis oído, y habéis sido por él enseñados, como la verdad está en Jesús,

If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

if indeed you heard him and were taught in him, even as truth is in Jesus:

Por ello, quítense, como si se tratara de ropa vieja, su naturaleza tan corrompida por los malos deseos.

A que dejéis, cuanto á la pasada manera de vivir, el viejo hombre que está viciado conforme á los deseos de error;

That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

that you put away, as concerning your former way of life, the old man that grows corrupt after the lusts of deceit,

Renueven sus actitudes y pensamientos;

Y á renovaros en el espíritu de vuestra mente,

And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,

sí, revístanse de la nueva naturaleza que Dios creó, para que sean como él, verdaderamente justos e íntegros.

Y vestir el nuevo hombre que es criado conforme á Dios en justicia y en santidad de verdad.

And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

and put on the new man, who in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.

Dejen, por lo tanto, la mentira; díganse la verdad unos a otros siempre, porque somos miembros de un mismo cuerpo.

Por lo cual, dejada la mentira, hablad verdad cada uno con su prójimo; porque somos miembros los unos de los otros.

Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor, for we are members of one another.

Si se enojan, no cometan el pecado de dejar que el enojo les dure todo el día.

Airaos, y no pequéis; no se ponga el sol sobre vuestro enojo;

Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

“Be angry, and don’t sin.” Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath,

Así no le darán lugar al diablo.

Ni deis lugar al diablo.

Neither give place to the devil.

and don’t give place to the devil.

El que era ladrón, deje de robar; al contrario, trabaje honradamente con sus manos para que tenga con qué ayudar a los que estén en necesidad.

El que hurtaba, no hurte más; antes trabaje, obrando con sus manos lo que es bueno, para que tenga de qué dar al que padeciere necesidad.

Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

Let him who stole steal no more; but rather let him labor, producing with his hands something that is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need.

Nunca empleen un lenguaje sucio; más bien digan palabras que les hagan bien a los que las oyen y los ayuden a madurar.

Ninguna palabra torpe salga de vuestra boca, sino la que sea buena para edificación, para que dé gracia á los oyentes.

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear.

No entristezcan al Espíritu Santo de Dios, con el cual Dios los selló para el día de la salvación.

Y no contristéis al Espíritu Santo de Dios, con el cual estáis sellados para el día de la redención.

And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Don’t grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Arrojen de ustedes la amargura, el enojo, la ira, los gritos, las calumnias y todo tipo de maldad.

Toda amargura, y enojo, é ira, y voces, y maledicencia sea quitada de vosotros, y toda malicia:

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice.

Al contrario, sean bondadosos entre ustedes, sean compasivos y perdónense las faltas los unos a los otros, de la misma manera que Dios los perdonó a ustedes por medio de Cristo.

Antes sed los unos con los otros benignos, misericordiosos, perdonándoos los unos á los otros, como también Dios os perdonó en Cristo.

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.
