Efesios 4

Yo, pues, que estoy entre cadenas por el Señor, os conjuro que os portéis de una manera que sea digna del estado o dignidad a que habéis sido llamados,

YO pues, preso en el Señor, os ruego que andéis como es digno de la vocación con que sois llamados;

I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to walk worthily of the calling with which you were called,

con toda humildad y mansedumbre, con paciencia, soportándoos unos a otros con caridad,

With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

solícitos en conservar la unidad del espíritu con el vínculo de la paz,

Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

siendo un solo cuerpo y un solo espíritu, así como fuisteis llamados a una misma esperanza de vuestra vocación.

Un cuerpo, y un Espíritu; como sois también llamados á una misma esperanza de vuestra vocación:

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

There is one body and one Spirit, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling,

Uno es el Señor, una la fe, uno el bautismo ;

Un Señor, una fe, un bautismo,

One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

uno el Dios y el Padre de todos, el cual es sobre todos, y gobierna todas las cosas, y habita en todos nosotros,

Un Dios y Padre de todos, el cual es sobre todas las cosas, y por todas las cosas, y en todos vosotros.

One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

si bien a cada uno de nosotros se le ha dado la gracia a medida de la donación, gratuita de Cristo .

Empero á cada uno de nosotros es dada la gracia conforme á la medida del don de Cristo.

But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

Por lo cual dice la Escritura: Al subirse a lo alto llevó consigo cautiva o como en triunfo a una gran multitud de cautivos, y derramó sus dones sobre los hombres.

Por lo cual dice: Subiendo á lo alto, llevó cautiva la cautividad, y dió dones á los hombres.

Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

Therefore he says, “When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts to people.”

Mas ¿por qué se dice que subió, sino porque antes había descendido a los lugares más ínfimos de la tierra?

(Y que subió, ¿qué es, sino que también había descendido primero á las partes más bajas de la tierra?

(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

Now this, “He ascended”, what is it but that he also first descended into the lower parts of the earth?

El que descendió, ése mismo es el que ascendió sobre todos los cielos, para dar cumplimiento a todas las cosas.

El que descendió, él mismo es el que también subió sobre todos los cielos para cumplir todas las cosas.)

He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

Y así, él mismo a unos ha constituido apóstoles, a otros profetas, y a otros evangelistas, y a otros pastores y doctores,

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

a fin de que trabajen en la perfección de los santos en las funciones de su ministerio, en la edificación del cuerpo místico de Cristo ,

Para perfección de los santos, para la obra del ministerio, para edificación del cuerpo de Cristo;

For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

for the perfecting of the saints, to the work of serving, to the building up of the body of Christ,

hasta que arribemos todos a la unidad de una misma fe y de un mismo conocimiento del Hijo de Dios, al estado de un varón perfecto, a la medida de la edad perfecta según la cual Cristo se ha de formar místicamente en nosotros;

Hasta que todos lleguemos á la unidad de la fe y del conocimiento del Hijo de Dios, á un varón perfecto, á la medida de la edad de la plenitud de Cristo:

Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a full grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,

de manera que ya no seamos niños fluctuantes, ni nos dejemos llevar aquí y allá de todos los vientos de opiniones humanas, por la malignidad de los hombres que engañan con astucia para introducir el error;

Que ya no seamos niños fluctuantes, y llevados por doquiera de todo viento de doctrina, por estratagema de hombres que, para engañar, emplean con astucia los artificios del error:

That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

that we may no longer be children, tossed back and forth and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error;

antes bien siguiendo la verdad del Evangelio con caridad, en todo vayamos creciendo en Cristo , que es nuestra cabeza,

Antes siguiendo la verdad en amor, crezcamos en todas cosas en aquel que es la cabeza, á saber, Cristo;

But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

but speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him who is the head, Christ,

y de quien todo el cuerpo místico de los fieles trabado y conexo entre sí con la fe y caridad, recibe por todos los vasos y conductos de comunicación, según la medida correspondiente a cada miembro, el aumento propio del cuerpo para su perfección mediante la caridad.

Del cual, todo el cuerpo compuesto y bien ligado entre sí por todas las junturas de su alimento, que recibe según la operación, cada miembro conforme á su medida toma aumento de cuerpo edificándose en amor.

From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

from whom all the body, being fitted and knit together through that which every joint supplies, according to the working in measure of each individual part, makes the body increase to the building up of itself in love.

Os advierto, pues, y yo os conjuro de parte del Señor, que ya no viváis como todavía viven los otros gentiles que proceden en su conducta según la vanidad de sus pensamientos,

Esto pues digo, y requiero en el Señor, que no andéis más como los otros Gentiles, que andan en la vanidad de su sentido,

This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,

teniendo oscurecido y lleno de tinieblas el entendimiento, ajenos enteramente de vivir según Dios, por la ignorancia en que están, a causa de la ceguedad o dureza de su corazón;

Teniendo el entendimiento entenebrecido, ajenos de la vida de Dios por la ignorancia que en ellos hay, por la dureza de su corazón:

Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their hearts.

los cuales no teniendo ninguna esperanza, se abandonan a la disolución, para zambullirse con un ardor insaciable en toda suerte de impurezas.

Los cuales después que perdieron el sentido de la conciencia, se entregaron á la desvergüenza para cometer con avidez toda suerte de impureza.

Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

They, having become callous, gave themselves up to lust, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

Pero en cuanto a vosotros no es eso lo que habéis aprendido en la escuela de Jesucristo;

Mas vosotros no habéis aprendido así á Cristo:

But ye have not so learned Christ;

But you didn’t learn Christ that way,

pues en ella habéis oído predicar y aprendido, según la verdad de su doctrina,

Si empero lo habéis oído, y habéis sido por él enseñados, como la verdad está en Jesús,

If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

if indeed you heard him and were taught in him, even as truth is in Jesus:

a desnudaros del hombre viejo, según el cual habéis vivido en vuestra vida pasada, el cual se vicia siguiendo la ilusión de las pasiones.

A que dejéis, cuanto á la pasada manera de vivir, el viejo hombre que está viciado conforme á los deseos de error;

That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

that you put away, as concerning your former way of life, the old man that grows corrupt after the lusts of deceit,

Renovaos, pues, ahora en el espíritu de vuestra mente o interior de vuestra alma.

Y á renovaros en el espíritu de vuestra mente,

And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,

Y revestíos del hombre nuevo, que ha sido creado conforme a la imagen de Dios en justicia y santidad verdadera.

Y vestir el nuevo hombre que es criado conforme á Dios en justicia y en santidad de verdad.

And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

and put on the new man, who in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.

Por lo cual renunciando a la mentira, hable cada uno verdad con su prójimo, puesto que nosotros somos miembros los unos de los otros.

Por lo cual, dejada la mentira, hablad verdad cada uno con su prójimo; porque somos miembros los unos de los otros.

Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor, for we are members of one another.

Si os enojáis, no queráis pecar, no sea que se os ponga el sol estando todavía airados.

Airaos, y no pequéis; no se ponga el sol sobre vuestro enojo;

Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

“Be angry, and don’t sin.” Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath,

No deis lugar o entrada al diablo.

Ni deis lugar al diablo.

Neither give place to the devil.

and don’t give place to the devil.

El que hurtaba o defraudaba al prójimo, no hurte ya; antes bien trabaje, ocupándose con sus manos en algún ejercicio honesto, para tener con qué subsistir y dar al necesitado.

El que hurtaba, no hurte más; antes trabaje, obrando con sus manos lo que es bueno, para que tenga de qué dar al que padeciere necesidad.

Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

Let him who stole steal no more; but rather let him labor, producing with his hands something that is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need.

De vuestra boca no salga ningún discurso malo; sino los que sean buenos para edificación de la fe, que den gracia o inspiren piedad a los oyentes.

Ninguna palabra torpe salga de vuestra boca, sino la que sea buena para edificación, para que dé gracia á los oyentes.

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear.

Y no queráis entristece con vuestros pecados al Espíritu Santo de Dios, con el cual fuisteis sellados para el día de la redención.

Y no contristéis al Espíritu Santo de Dios, con el cual estáis sellados para el día de la redención.

And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Don’t grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Toda amargura, ira y enojo, y gritería, y maledicencia, con todo género de malicia, destiérrese de vosotros.

Toda amargura, y enojo, é ira, y voces, y maledicencia sea quitada de vosotros, y toda malicia:

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice.

Al contrario, sed mutuamente afables, compasivos, perdonándoos los unos a los otros, así como también Dios os ha perdonado a vosotros por Cristo .

Antes sed los unos con los otros benignos, misericordiosos, perdonándoos los unos á los otros, como también Dios os perdonó en Cristo.

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.
