Por tanto, imiten a Dios como hijos amados.
SED, pues, imitadores de Dios como hijos amados:
Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

Y vivan amando a los demás, siguiendo el ejemplo de Cristo, que nos amó y se entregó por nosotros en sacrificio, como ofrenda de perfume agradable a Dios.
Y andad en amor, como también Cristo nos amó, y se entregó á sí mismo por nosotros, ofrenda y sacrificio á Dios en olor suave.

Que entre ustedes ni siquiera se mencionen pecados sexuales, o cualquier forma de impureza o de avaricia. Eso no es propio del pueblo santo de Dios.
Pero fornicación y toda inmundicia, ó avaricia, ni aun se nombre entre vosotros, como conviene á santos;

No digan malas palabras, ni tengan conversaciones tontas, ni hagan chistes groseros. Todo eso está fuera de lugar. En vez de actuar así, sean agradecidos.
Ni palabras torpes, ni necedades, ni truhanerías, que no convienen; sino antes bien acciones de gracias.

No se dejen engañar por los que tratan de excusar estos pecados, porque por esos pecados el castigo de Dios viene sobre los que son desobedientes.
Nadie os engañe con palabras vanas; porque por estas cosas viene la ira de Dios sobre los hijos de desobediencia.
Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

No se hagan cómplices de esa clase de personas.
No seáis pues aparceros con ellos;

Aunque ustedes antes vivían en tinieblas, ahora viven en la luz. Esa luz debe notarse en su conducta como hijos de Dios.

Es vergonzoso aun hablar de muchas de las cosas que ellos hacen a escondidas.

Pero cuando la luz brilla, pone todas las cosas al descubierto. Por eso se dice: «Despiértate, tú que duermes; levántate de entre los muertos y Cristo te alumbrará».

But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

Las mujeres deben someterse a sus esposos al igual que se someten al Señor.
Las casadas estén sujetas á sus propios maridos, como al Señor.
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

Porque el esposo es cabeza de la esposa, de la misma manera que Cristo es cabeza y salvador de ese cuerpo suyo que es la iglesia.

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

Nadie aborrece su propio cuerpo; antes bien, lo alimenta y lo cuida con esmero. Cristo hace lo mismo con ese cuerpo suyo del que formamos parte: la iglesia.

«Por eso, el hombre dejará a su padre y a su madre y se unirá a su mujer, y los dos serán como una sola persona».

Sé que esto es como un misterio difícil de entender; pero ilustra la manera en que Cristo se relaciona con la iglesia.
Este misterio grande es: mas yo digo esto con respecto á Cristo y á la iglesia.
This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

Así que, repito, el esposo debe amar a su esposa como a sí mismo; y la esposa debe respetar a su esposo.
Cada uno empero de vosotros de por sí, ame también á su mujer como á sí mismo; y la mujer reverencie á su marido.
Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
