Efesios 5

Sean, por lo tanto, imitadores de Dios como hijos amados.

SED, pues, imitadores de Dios como hijos amados:

Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children.

Y anden en amor, como también Cristo nos amó, y se entregó a sí mismo por nosotros, ofrenda y sacrificio a Dios en olor fragante.

Y andad en amor, como también Cristo nos amó, y se entregó á sí mismo por nosotros, ofrenda y sacrificio á Dios en olor suave.

And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

Pero fornicación †inmoralidad sexual y toda inmundicia, o avaricia, ni aun se nombre entre ustedes, como conviene a santos;

But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

ni palabras deshonestas, ni necedades, ni truhanerías, que no convienen, sino antes bien acciones de gracias.

Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

Porque saben esto, que ningún fornicario †inmoral sexual, o inmundo, o avaro, que es idólatra, tiene herencia en el reino de Cristo y de Dios.

For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Know this for sure, that no sexually immoral person, nor unclean person, nor covetous man (who is an idolater), has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and God.

Nadie les engañe con palabras vanas, porque por estas cosas viene la ira †furia de Dios sobre los hijos de desobediencia.

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

No sean, por lo tanto, partícipes con ellos.

Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

Porque en otro tiempo eran tinieblas, mas ahora son luz en el Señor; anden como hijos de luz

For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

(porque el fruto del Espíritu es en toda bondad, justicia y verdad),

(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

comprobando lo que es agradable al Señor.

Y no participen en las obras infructuosas de las tinieblas, sino más bien amonéstenlas †repréndanlas, refútenlas;

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

porque vergonzoso es aun hablar de lo que ellos hacen en secreto.

For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

Mas todas las cosas, cuando son puestas en evidencia por la luz, son hechas manifiestas †conocidas; porque la luz es lo que manifiesta todo.

But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

Por lo cual dice: Despiértate, tú que duermes, Y levántate de los muertos, Y te alumbrará Cristo.

Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

Vean, por lo tanto, con diligencia cómo anden, no como necios †ignorantes, imprudentes, irracionales sino como sabios,

See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise,

aprovechando bien el tiempo, porque los días son malos.

Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Por tanto, no sean insensatos, sino entendidos de cuál sea la voluntad del Señor.

Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

No se embriaguen con vino, en lo cual hay disolución; antes bien sean llenos del Espíritu,

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,

hablando entre ustedes con salmos, con himnos y cánticos espirituales, cantando y alabando al Señor en sus †de ustedes corazones;

Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

dando siempre gracias por todo al Dios y Padre, en el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesús, el Cristo.

Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

giving thanks always concerning all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father;

Sométanse unos a otros en el temor de TM †Cristo.

Sujetados los unos á los otros en el temor de Dios.

Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

subjecting yourselves to one another in the fear of Christ.

Las casadas estén sujetas a sus propios esposos, como al Señor;

Las casadas estén sujetas á sus propios maridos, como al Señor.

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord.

porque el esposo es cabeza de la esposa, así como Cristo es cabeza de la iglesia, la cual es su cuerpo, y él es su Salvador.

Porque el marido es cabeza de la mujer, así como Cristo es cabeza de la iglesia; y él es el que da la salud al cuerpo.

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body.

Así que, como la iglesia está sujeta a Cristo, así también las casadas lo estén a «sus» esposos en todo.

Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything.

Esposos, amen a sus †de ustedes esposas, así como Cristo amó a la iglesia, y se entregó a sí mismo por ella,

Maridos, amad á vuestras mujeres, así como Cristo amó á la iglesia, y se entregó á sí mismo por ella,

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

para santificarla, habiéndola purificado en el lavamiento del agua por la declaración,

Para santificarla limpiándola en el lavacro del agua por la palabra,

That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,

a fin de presentársela a sí mismo, una iglesia gloriosa, que no tuviese mancha ni arruga ni cosa semejante, sino que fuese santa y sin mancha.

Para presentársela gloriosa para sí, una iglesia que no tuviese mancha ni arruga, ni cosa semejante; sino que fuese santa y sin mancha.

That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Así también los esposos deben amar a sus esposas como a sus mismos cuerpos. El que ama a su esposa, a sí mismo se ama.

Así también los maridos deben amar á sus mujeres como á sus mismos cuerpos. El que ama á su mujer, á sí mismo se ama.

So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself.

Porque nadie aborreció jamás a su propia carne, sino que la sustenta y la cuida, como también «Cristo» a la iglesia,

For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

porque somos miembros de su cuerpo, de su carne y de sus huesos.

For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

Por esto dejará el hombre a su padre y a su madre, y se unirá a su esposa, y los dos serán una sola carne.

For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

Grande es este misterio; mas yo digo esto respecto de Cristo y de la iglesia.

Este misterio grande es: mas yo digo esto con respecto á Cristo y á la iglesia.

This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and the assembly.

Por lo demás, cada uno de ustedes ame también a su esposa como a sí mismo; y la esposa respete a su esposo.

Cada uno empero de vosotros de por sí, ame también á su mujer como á sí mismo; y la mujer reverencie á su marido.

Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
