1POI il re Assuero impose un tributo alla terra ed alle isole del mare.
2Ora, quant'è a tutti i fatti della sua potenza e forza; e alla dichiarazione della grandezza di Mardocheo, della quale quel re l'ingrandì; queste cose non son esse scritte nel libro delle Croniche dei re di Media e di Persia?
3Perciocchè Mardocheo Giudeo fu la seconda persona dopo il re Assuero, e grande appo i Giudei, e grato alla moltitudine de' suoi fratelli, procacciando il bene del suo popolo, e parlando amorevolmente a tutto il suo legnaggio.

2Y toda la obra de su fortaleza, y de su valor, y la declaración de la grandeza de Mardochêo, con que el rey le engrandeció, ¿no está escrito en el libro de los anales de los reyes de Media y de Persia?
3Porque Mardochêo Judío fué segundo después del rey Assuero, y grande entre los Judíos, y acepto á la multitud de sus hermanos, procurando el bien de su pueblo, y hablando paz para toda su simiente.

1And the king Ahasuerus laid a tribute upon the land, and upon the isles of the sea.
2And all the acts of his power and of his might, and the declaration of the greatness of Mordecai, whereunto the king advanced him, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?
3For Mordecai the Jew was next unto king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of his brethren, seeking the wealth of his people, and speaking peace to all his seed.
