Après ces choses, la colère du roi à la longue s'assoupit ; mais il ne rechercha plus la reine, se souvenant de ce qu'elle avait dit, et du jugement qu'il avait rendu contre elle.

PASADAS estas cosas, sosegada ya la ira del rey Assuero, acordóse de Vasthi, y de lo que hizo, y de lo que fué sentenciado contra ella.

Y ponga el rey personas en todas las provincias de su reino, que junten todas las mozas vírgenes de buen parecer en Susán residencia regia, en la casa de las mujeres, al cuidado de Hegai, eunuco del rey, guarda de las mujeres, dándoles sus atavíos;

Puis, la femme qui plaira au roi sera reine à la place de Vasthi. Ce projet fut agréable au roi, et il fit ainsi.

And he brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle’s daughter: for she had neither father nor mother, and the maid was fair and beautiful; whom Mordecai, when her father and mother were dead, took for his own daughter.

Sucedió pues, que como se divulgó el mandamiento del rey y su acuerdo, y siendo reunidas muchas mozas en Susán residencia regia, á cargo de Hegai, fué tomada también Esther para casa del rey, al cuidado de Hegai, guarda de las mujeres.

So it came to pass, when the king’s commandment and his decree was heard, and when many maidens were gathered together unto Shushan the palace, to the custody of Hegai, that Esther was brought also unto the king’s house, to the custody of Hegai, keeper of the women.

Et la jeune fille lui plut et elle trouva grâce à ses yeux, et il se hâta de lui donner des cosmétiques et sa part, et sept jeunes filles du palais pour la servir ; il en usa bien avec elle et avec ses suivantes, dans le gynécée.

Y la moza agradó en sus ojos, y halló gracia delante de él; por lo que hizo darle prestamente sus atavíos y sus raciones, dándole también siete convenientes doncellas de la casa del rey; y pasóla con sus doncellas á lo mejor de la casa de las mujeres.

And the maiden pleased him, and she obtained kindness of him; and he speedily gave her her things for purification, with such things as belonged to her, and seven maidens, which were meet to be given her, out of the king’s house: and he preferred her and her maids unto the best place of the house of the women.

The maiden pleased him, and she obtained kindness from him. He quickly gave her cosmetics and her portions of food, and the seven choice maidens who were to be given her out of the king’s house. He moved her and her maidens to the best place in the women’s house.

Et Esther ne fit connaître ni ses parents ni sa patrie, car Mardochée lui avait défendu d'en rien déclarer.

Esther no declaró su pueblo ni su nacimiento; porque Mardochêo le había mandado que no lo declarase.

Esther had not shewed her people nor her kindred: for Mordecai had charged her that she should not shew it.

Or, le moment où une jeune fille entre chez le roi, arrive quand les douze mois sont accomplis, car alors les jours de la purification sont écoulés ; pendant six mois, elle s'est ointe d'huile de myrrhe, et pendant six mois d'aromates et de cosmétiques de femmes.

Y como llegaba el tiempo de cada una de las mozas para venir al rey Assuero, al cabo de haber estado ya doce meses conforme á la ley acerca de las mujeres (porque así se cumplía el tiempo de sus atavíos, esto es, seis meses con óleo de mirra, y seis meses con cosas aromáticas y afeites de mujeres),

Now when every maid’s turn was come to go in to king Ahasuerus, after that she had been twelve months, according to the manner of the women, (for so were the days of their purifications accomplished, to wit, six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with sweet odours, and with other things for the purifying of the women;)

Enfin, on l'introduit chez le roi, et l'eunuque à qui il en donne l'ordre la conduit, pour qu'elle aille auprès de lui, du gynécée aux chambres du roi.

Entonces la moza venía así al rey: todo lo que ella decía se le daba, para venir con ello de la casa de las mujeres hasta la casa del rey.

Then thus came every maiden unto the king; whatsoever she desired was given her to go with her out of the house of the women unto the king’s house.

Elle y entre le soir, et, le lendemain, elle retourne au second gynécée où est l'eunuque Haï, gardien des femmes, et on ne la reconduit plus chez le roi, à moins qu'il ne la demande par son nom.

Ella venía á la tarde, y á la mañana se volvía á la casa segunda de las mujeres, al cargo de Saasgaz eunuco del rey, guarda de las concubinas: no venía más al rey, salvo si el rey la quería, y era llamada por nombre.

In the evening she went, and on the morrow she returned into the second house of the women, to the custody of Shaashgaz, the king’s chamberlain, which kept the concubines: she came in unto the king no more, except the king delighted in her, and that she were called by name.

Et quand fut accompli le temps après lequel Esther, fille d'Aminadab, oncle paternel de Mardochée, devait être présentée au roi, elle ne négligea rien de ce que lui prescrivit l'eunuque, gardien des femmes. Car il était donné à Esther de trouver grâce aux yeux de tous ceux qui la voyaient.

Y llegado que fué el tiempo de Esther, hija de Abihail tío de Mardochêo, que él se había tomado por hija, para venir al rey, ninguna cosa procuró sino lo que dijo Hegai eunuco del rey, guarda de las mujeres: y ganaba Esther la gracia de todos los que la veían.

Now when the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her for his daughter, was come to go in unto the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the king’s chamberlain, the keeper of the women, appointed. And Esther obtained favour in the sight of all them that looked upon her.

And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti.

Et Mardochée servait dans le parvis.

Et Esther ne déclara point quelle était sa patrie ; car Mardochée le lui avait défendu, lui prescrivant de craindre Dieu et de suivre ses commandements, comme lorsqu'elle demeurait en sa maison ; et Esther ne changea rien à ses habitudes.

Et les deux eunuques, chefs des gardes du corps du roi, s'affligèrent des honneurs auxquels s'élevait Mardochée, et ils cherchèrent à tuer Artaxerxès.

En aquellos días, estando Mardochêo sentado á la puerta del rey, enojáronse Bigthán y Teres, dos eunucos del rey, de la guardia de la puerta, y procuraban poner mano en el rey Assuero.

In those days, while Mordecai sat in the king’s gate, two of the king’s chamberlains, Bigthan and Teresh, of those which kept the door, were wroth, and sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus.

Et Mardochée découvrit le complot, et il le dit à Esther, qui dévoila tout au roi.

Mas entendido que fué esto por Mardochêo, él lo denunció á la reina Esther, y Esther lo dijo al rey en nombre de Mardochêo.

And the thing was known to Mordecai, who told it unto Esther the queen; and Esther certified the king thereof in Mordecai’s name.

This thing became known to Mordecai, who informed Esther the queen; and Esther informed the king in Mordecai’s name.

Or, le roi interrogea les eunuques et il les fit pendre ; et il prescrivit d'écrire en un mémorial, dans les archives de la bibliothèque royale, une notice sur les bons offices de Mardochée, à sa louange.

Hízose entonces indagación de la cosa, y fué hallada cierta; por tanto, entrambos fueron colgados en una horca. Y escribióse el caso en el libro de las cosas de los tiempos delante del rey.

And when inquisition was made of the matter, it was found out; therefore they were both hanged on a tree: and it was written in the book of the chronicles before the king.

When this matter was investigated, and it was found to be so, they were both hanged on a gallows; and it was written in the book of the chronicles in the king’s presence.
