Nach diesen Begebenheiten erhob der König Ahasveros Haman, den Sohn Hamedatas, den Agagiter, zu höherer Macht und Würde und setzte seinen Stuhl über alle Fürsten, die bei ihm waren.

DESPUÉS de estas cosas, el rey Assuero engrandeció á Amán hijo de Amadatha Agageo, y ensalzólo, y puso su silla sobre todos los príncipes que estaban con él.

Und alle Knechte des Königs, die im Königstore waren, beugten die Knie und fielen vor Haman nieder; denn der König hatte es also geboten. Aber Mardochai beugte die Knie nicht und fiel nicht nieder.

Y todos los siervos del rey que estaban á la puerta del rey, se arrodillaban é inclinaban á Amán, porque así se lo había mandado el rey; pero Mardochêo, ni se arrodillaba ni se humillaba.

And all the king’s servants, that were in the king’s gate, bowed, and reverenced Haman: for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence.

Da sprachen die Knechte des Königs, die im Königstore waren, zu Mardochai: Warum übertrittst du des Königs Gebot?

Y los siervos del rey que estaban á la puerta, dijeron á Mardochêo: ¿Por qué traspasas el mandamiento del rey?

Then the king’s servants, which were in the king’s gate, said unto Mordecai, Why transgressest thou the king’s commandment?

Und als sie solches täglich zu ihm sagten und er ihnen nicht gehorchte, sagten sie es Haman, um zu sehen, ob Mardochai auf seiner Weigerung bestehen würde; denn er hatte ihnen gesagt, daß er ein Jude sei.

Y aconteció que, hablándole cada día de esta manera, y no escuchándolos él, denunciáronlo á Amán, por ver si las palabras de Mardochêo se mantendrían; porque ya él les había declarado que era Judío.

Now it came to pass, when they spake daily unto him, and he hearkened not unto them, that they told Haman, to see whether Mordecai’s matters would stand: for he had told them that he was a Jew.

Als nun Haman sah, daß Mardochai die Knie nicht vor ihm beugte und ihm nicht huldigte, ward er voll Grimm.

Doch war ihm das zu gering, an Mardochai allein Hand zu legen; sondern weil man ihm das Volk Mardochais genannt hatte, trachtete Haman darnach, alle Juden im ganzen Königreich des Ahasveros, die Volksgenossen Mardochais, zu vertilgen.

Mas tuvo en poco meter mano en solo Mardochêo; que ya le habían declarado el pueblo de Mardochêo: y procuró Amán destruir á todos los Judíos que había en el reino de Assuero, al pueblo de Mardochêo.

And he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had shewed him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the people of Mordecai.

Im ersten Monat, das ist der Monat Nisan, im zwölften Jahre des Königs Ahasveros, ward das Pur, das ist das Los, vor Haman geworfen über die Tage und Monate, und es fiel auf den †dreizehnten Tag im zwölften Monat, das ist der Monat Adar.

En el mes primero, que es el mes de Nisán, en el año duodécimo del rey Assuero, fué echada Pur, esto es, la suerte, delante de Amán, de día en día y de mes en mes; y salió el mes duodécimo, que es el mes de Adar.

Und Haman sprach zum König Ahasveros: Es gibt ein Volk, das lebt zerstreut und abgesondert unter allen Völkern in allen Provinzen deines Königreichs, und ihr Gesetz ist anders als dasjenige aller Völker, und sie tun nicht nach des Königs Gesetzen; also daß es dem König nicht geziemt, sie in Ruhe zu lassen!

Y dijo Amán al rey Assuero: Hay un pueblo esparcido y dividido entre los pueblos en todas las provincias de tu reino, y sus leyes son diferentes de las de todo pueblo, y no observan las leyes del rey; y al rey no viene provecho de dejarlos.

And Haman said unto king Ahasuerus, There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of thy kingdom; and their laws are diverse from all people; neither keep they the king’s laws: therefore it is not for the king’s profit to suffer them.

Gefällt es dem König, so schreibe er, daß man sie umbringe; dann will ich zehntausend Talente Silber darwägen in die Hände der Schaffner, damit man es in des Königs Schatzkammern bringe!

Si place al rey, escríbase que sean destruídos; y yo pesaré diez mil talentos de plata en manos de los que manejan la hacienda, para que sean traídos á los tesoros del rey.

If it please the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed: and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those that have the charge of the business, to bring it into the king’s treasuries.

Da zog der König seinen Siegelring von der Hand und gab ihn Haman, dem Sohne Hamedatas, dem Agagiter, dem Feinde der Juden.

Da berief man die Schreiber des Königs am dreizehnten Tage des ersten Monats, und es ward geschrieben, ganz wie Haman befahl, an die Fürsten des Königs und an die Landpfleger in allen Provinzen und an die Hauptleute eines jeden Volkes, in der Schrift einer jeden Provinz und in der Sprache eines jeden Volkes; im Namen des Königs Ahasveros ward es geschrieben und mit des Königs Ring versiegelt.

Entonces fueron llamados los escribanos del rey en el mes primero, á trece del mismo, y fué escrito conforme á todo lo que mandó Amán, á los príncipes del rey, y á los capitanes que estaban sobre cada provincia, y á los príncipes de cada pueblo, á cada provincia según su escritura, y á cada pueblo según su lengua: en nombre del rey Assuero fué escrito, y signado con el anillo del rey.

Then were the king’s scribes called on the thirteenth day of the first month, and there was written according to all that Haman had commanded unto the king’s lieutenants, and to the governors that were over every province, and to the rulers of every people of every province according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their language; in the name of king Ahasuerus was it written, and sealed with the king’s ring.

Then the king’s scribes were called in on the first month, on the thirteenth day of the month; and all that Haman commanded was written to the king’s local governors, and to the governors who were over every province, and to the princes of every people, to every province according to its writing, and to every people in their language. It was written in the name of King Ahasuerus, and it was sealed with the king’s ring.

Und die Briefe wurden durch die Läufer in alle Provinzen des Königs gesandt, daß man alle Juden vertilgen, erwürgen und umbringen solle, Junge und Alte, Kinder und Frauen, an einem Tage, nämlich am dreizehnten des zwölften Monats, das ist der Monat Adar, und daß man zugleich ihr Gut rauben dürfe.

Y fueron enviadas letras por mano de los correos á todas las provincias del rey, para destruir, y matar, y exterminar á todos los Judíos, desde el niño hasta el viejo, niños y mujeres en un día, en el trece del mes duodécimo, que es el mes de Adar, y para apoderarse de su despojo.

La copia del escrito que se diese por mandamiento en cada provincia, fué publicada á todos los pueblos, á fin de que estuviesen apercibidos para aquel día.

Und die Läufer gingen eilends mit des Königs Gebot, sobald es im Schlosse Susan erlassen war. Der König aber und Haman setzten sich, um zu trinken, während die Stadt Susan in Bestürzung geriet.

Y salieron los correos de priesa por mandato del rey, y el edicto fué dado en Susán capital del reino. Y el rey y Amán estaban sentados á beber, y la ciudad de Susán estaba conmovida.

The posts went out, being hastened by the king’s commandment, and the decree was given in Shushan the palace. And the king and Haman sat down to drink; but the city Shushan was perplexed.
