Again Esther spake unto Hatach, and gave him commandment unto Mordecai;

"Tous les serviteurs du roi et la population des provinces du roi savent que toute personne, homme ou femme, qui pénètre chez le roi, dans la cour intérieure, sans avoir été convoquée, une loi égale pour tous la rend passible de la peine de mort; celui-là seul à qui le roi tend son sceptre d'or a la vie sauve. Or, moi, je n'ai pas été invitée à venir chez le roi voilà trente jours."
Todos los siervos del rey, y el pueblo de las provincias del rey saben, que cualquier hombre ó mujer que entra al rey al patio de adentro sin ser llamado, por una sola ley ha de morir: salvo aquel á quien el rey extendiere el cetro de oro, el cual vivirá: y yo no he sido llamada para entrar al rey estos treinta días.

celui-ci dit de porter cette réponse à Esther: "Ne te berce pas de l'illusion que, seule d'entre les juifs, tu échapperas au danger, grâce au palais du roi;
Entonces dijo Mardochêo que respondiesen á Esther: No pienses en tu alma, que escaparás en la casa del rey más que todos los Judíos:
Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king’s house, more than all the Jews.
Then Mordecai asked them to return this answer to Esther: “Don’t think to yourself that you will escape in the king’s house any more than all the Jews.
car si tu persistes à garder le silence à l'heure où nous sommes, la délivrance et le salut surgiront pour les juifs d'autre part, tandis que toi et la maison de ton père vous périrez. Et qui sait si ce n'est pas pour une conjoncture pareille que tu es parvenue à la royauté?"
Porque si absolutamente callares en este tiempo, respiro y libertación tendrán los Judíos de otra parte; mas tú y la casa de tu padre pereceréis. ¿Y quién sabe si para esta hora te han hecho llegar al reino?
For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
For if you remain silent now, then relief and deliverance will come to the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Who knows if you haven’t come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
Alors Esther fit porter cette réponse à Mardochée:
Y Esther dijo que respondiesen á Mardochêo:
Then Esther bade them return Mordecai this answer,

"Va rassembler tous les juifs présents à Suse, et jeûnez à mon intention; ne mangez ni ne buvez pendant trois jours ni jour ni nuit moi aussi avec mes suivantes, je jeûnerai de la même façon. Et puis je me présenterai au roi, et si je dois périr, je périrai!"
Ve, y junta á todos los Judíos que se hallan en Susán, y ayunad por mí, y no comáis ni bebáis en tres días, noche ni día: yo también con mis doncellas ayunaré igualmente, y así entraré al rey, aunque no sea conforme á la ley; y si perezco, que perezca.
Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.

Mardochée se retira et exécuta strictement ce que lui avait ordonné Esther.
Entonces se fué Mardochêo, é hizo conforme á todo lo que le mandó Esther.
