Hamã se atirou sobre o sofá onde a rainha Ester estava sentada, e, nesse momento o rei voltou do jardim do palácio: “Será que ele quer abusar da rainha aqui no palácio, diante dos meus próprios olhos?” gritou o rei. Sem demora, os oficiais do rei cobriram o rosto de Hamã com um pano!

And Harbonah, one of the chamberlains, said before the king, Behold also, the gallows fifty cubits high, which Haman had made for Mordecai, who had spoken good for the king, standeth in the house of Haman. Then the king said, Hang him thereon.
Then Harbonah, one of the eunuchs who were with the king, said, “Behold, the gallows fifty cubits high, which Haman has made for Mordecai, who spoke good for the king, is standing at Haman’s house.” The king said, “Hang him on it!”
Fizeram como o rei mandara, e Hamã morreu na forca que ele tinha preparado para Mordecai; e com isso, a ira do rei se acalmou.
Así colgaron á Amán en la horca que él había hecho aparejar para Mardochêo; y apaciguóse la ira del rey.
