An demselben Tage schenkte der König Ahasveros der Königin Esther das Haus des Judenfeindes Haman; Mardochai aber erhielt Zutritt beim König; denn Esther hatte dem König mitgeteilt, wie er mit ihr verwandt war.

EL MISMO día dió el rey Assuero á la reina Esther la casa de Amán enemigo de los Judíos; y Mardochêo vino delante del rey, porque Esther le declaró lo que era respecto de ella.

On that day did the king Ahasuerus give the house of Haman the Jews’ enemy unto Esther the queen. And Mordecai came before the king; for Esther had told what he was unto her.

Der König zog dann seinen Siegelring, den er dem Haman hatte abnehmen lassen, vom Finger ab und übergab ihn Mardochai; Esther aber übertrug dem Mardochai die Verwaltung des Hauses Hamans.

Y quitóse el rey su anillo que había vuelto á tomar de Amán, y diólo á Mardochêo. Y Esther puso á Mardochêo sobre la casa de Amán.

Hierauf verhandelte Esther nochmals mit dem Könige, indem sie sich ihm zu Füßen warf und ihn unter Tränen anflehte, er möge doch die Bosheit des Agagiters Haman und den Anschlag, den dieser gegen die Juden ins Werk gesetzt hatte, rückgängig machen.

Volvió luego Esther á hablar delante del rey, y echóse á sus pies, llorando y rogándole que hiciese nula la maldad de Amán Agageo, y su designio que había formado contra los Judíos.

And Esther spake yet again before the king, and fell down at his feet, and besought him with tears to put away the mischief of Haman the Agagite, and his device that he had devised against the Jews.

Als der König nun der Esther das goldene Zepter entgegenstreckte, stand Esther auf, trat vor den König

Entonces extendió el rey á Esther el cetro de oro, y Esther se levantó, y púsose en pie delante del rey.

und sagte: »Wenn es dem König genehm ist und ich Gnade vor ihm gefunden habe und es dem König gut erscheint und ich seine Zuneigung besitze, so möge durch einen schriftlichen Erlaß verordnet werden, daß die auf den Anschlag des Agagiters Haman, des Sohnes Hammedathas, bezüglichen Schreiben, in denen er die Ermordung der in allen Provinzen des Reiches lebenden Juden angeordnet hat, widerrufen werden.

Y dijo: Si place al rey, y si he hallado gracia delante de él, y si la cosa es recta delante del rey, y agradable yo en sus ojos, sea escrito para revocar las letras del designio de Amán hijo de Amadatha Agageo, que escribió para destruir á los Judíos que están en todas las provincias del rey.

And said, If it please the king, and if I have found favour in his sight, and the thing seem right before the king, and I be pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to reverse the letters devised by Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews which are in all the king’s provinces:

She said, “If it pleases the king, and if I have found favor in his sight, and the thing seems right to the king, and I am pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to reverse the letters devised by Haman, the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews who are in all the king’s provinces.

Denn wie vermöchte ich das Unglück mit anzusehen, das meine Volksgenossen treffen soll? Und wie vermöchte ich den Untergang meines Geschlechts mit anzusehen?«

Porque ¿cómo podré yo ver el mal que alcanzará á mi pueblo? ¿cómo podré yo ver la destrucción de mi nación?

Da antwortete der König Ahasveros der Königin Esther und dem Juden Mardochai: »Wie ihr wißt, habe ich das Haus Hamans der Esther geschenkt, und ihn selbst hat man an den Pfahl gehängt zur Strafe dafür, daß er sich an den Juden hat vergreifen wollen.

Y respondió el rey Assuero á la reina Esther, y á Mardochêo Judío: He aquí yo he dado á Esther la casa de Amán, y á él han colgado en la horca, por cuanto extendió su mano contra los Judíos.

So mögt ihr nun im Namen des Königs in betreff der Juden schriftlich verfügen, wie ihr es für angemessen haltet, und es dann mit dem Siegelring des Königs untersiegeln; dagegen eine Verfügung, die schriftlich im Namen des Königs erlassen und mit dem Siegelring des Königs untersiegelt ist, kann nicht rückgängig gemacht werden.«

Escribid pues vosotros á los Judíos como bien os pareciere en el nombre del rey, y selladlo con el anillo del rey; porque la escritura que se escribe en nombre del rey, y se sella con el anillo del rey, no es para revocarla.

Write ye also for the Jews, as it liketh you, in the king’s name, and seal it with the king’s ring: for the writing which is written in the king’s name, and sealed with the king’s ring, may no man reverse.

So wurden denn damals – es war am dreiundzwanzigsten Tage des dritten Monats, d.h. des Monats Siwan – die königlichen Staatsschreiber berufen, und es wurde genau nach der Anweisung Mardochais in betreff der Juden an die Landpfleger und Statthalter und Fürsten der hundertundsiebenundzwanzig Provinzen von Indien bis Äthiopien, und zwar einer jeden Provinz mit ihrer Schrift und einem jeden Volke in seiner Sprache, geschrieben, auch an die Juden mit ihrer Schrift und in ihrer Sprache;

Entonces fueron llamados los escribanos del rey en el mes tercero, que es Siván, á veintitrés del mismo; y escribióse conforme á todo lo que mandó Mardochêo, á los Judíos, y á los sátrapas, y á los capitanes, y á los príncipes de las provincias que había desde la India hasta la Ethiopía, ciento veintisiete provincias; á cada provincia según su escribir, y á cada pueblo conforme á su lengua, á los Judíos también conforme á su escritura y lengua.

Then were the king’s scribes called at that time in the third month, that is, the month Sivan, on the three and twentieth day thereof; and it was written according to all that Mordecai commanded unto the Jews, and to the lieutenants, and the deputies and rulers of the provinces which are from India unto Ethiopia, an hundred twenty and seven provinces, unto every province according to the writing thereof, and unto every people after their language, and to the Jews according to their writing, and according to their language.

Then the king’s scribes were called at that time, in the third month, which is the month Sivan, on the twenty-third day of the month; and it was written according to all that Mordecai commanded to the Jews, and to the local governors, and the governors and princes of the provinces which are from India to Ethiopia, one hundred twenty-seven provinces, to every province according to its writing, and to every people in their language, and to the Jews in their writing, and in their language.

und zwar ließ er im Namen des Königs Ahasveros schreiben und mit dem Siegelring des Königs untersiegeln und sandte dann die Schreiben durch die reitenden Eilboten ab, die auf den vorzüglichsten, aus den Gestüten stammenden Rennpferden ritten.

In den Schreiben war verfügt, daß der König den Juden in allen einzelnen Städten gestatte, sich zusammenzutun und ihr Leben zu verteidigen, indem sie jedes Aufgebot eines Volkes oder einer Provinz, das sie angreifen würde, samt ihren Kindern und Frauen, vernichteten, ermordeten und umbrächten; auch sollten sie deren Vermögen plündern dürfen,

Con intimación de que el rey concedía á los Judíos que estaban en todas las ciudades, que se juntasen y estuviesen á la defensa de su vida, prontos á destruir, y matar, y acabar con todo ejército de pueblo ó provincia que viniese contra ellos, aun niños y mujeres, y su despojo para presa,

En un mismo día en todas las provincias del rey Assuero, en el trece del mes duodécimo, que es el mes de Adar.

Upon one day in all the provinces of king Ahasuerus, namely, upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar.

Damit aber die Verfügung in jeder einzelnen Provinz erlassen würde, wurde eine Abschrift des Schreibens allen Völkern bekanntgemacht, damit die Juden an dem betreffenden Tage bereit wären, an ihren Feinden Rache zu nehmen.

La copia de la escritura que había de darse por ordenanza en cada provincia, para que fuese manifiesta á todos los pueblos, decía que los Judíos estuviesen apercibidos para aquel día, para vengarse de sus enemigos.

Die auf den vorzüglichsten Rennpferden reitenden Eilboten machten sich dann auf Befehl des Königs schleunigst und in aller Eile auf den Weg, während die Verfügung in der Residenz Susa veröffentlicht wurde.

Los correos pues, cabalgando en dromedarios y en mulos, salieron apresurados y constreñidos por el mandamiento del rey: y la ley fué dada en Susán capital del reino.

So the posts that rode upon mules and camels went out, being hastened and pressed on by the king’s commandment. And the decree was given at Shushan the palace.

Mardochai aber trat aus dem Palast des Königs hervor in königlicher Kleidung von purpurblauer und weißer Baumwolle, mit einem großen goldenen Stirnreif und einem Mantel von Byssus und rotem Purpur; und die Stadt Susa jauchzte und freute sich:

And Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal apparel of blue and white, and with a great crown of gold, and with a garment of fine linen and purple: and the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad.

den Juden war Glück und Freude, Jubel und Ehre zuteil geworden.

Auch in allen Provinzen und in jeder Stadt, überall, wohin die Verfügung und der Erlaß des Königs gelangte, war bei den Juden Freude und Jubel, Festmahl und Feiertag; und viele von der heidnischen Bevölkerung des Landes traten zum Judentum über, weil Furcht vor den Juden über sie gekommen war.
