Aquel mismo día el rey Asuero dio a la reina Ester la casa y los bienes de Amán, el enemigo de los judíos, y Mardoqueo fue presentado al rey; por cuanto Ester le declaró que era su tío paterno.
EL MISMO día dió el rey Assuero á la reina Esther la casa de Amán enemigo de los Judíos; y Mardochêo vino delante del rey, porque Esther le declaró lo que era respecto de ella.

Y tomó el rey el anillo o sello que había mandado recoger de Amán, y se lo entregó a Mardoqueo, al cual hizo Ester mayordomo de su casa o palacio.

Mas no contenta con eso, se echó a los pies del rey, y con lágrimas en los ojos le habló y suplicó que mandase no tuviesen efecto los maliciosos designios de Amán, hijo de Agag, y las inicuas tramas que había urdido contra los judíos.

Porque, ¿cómo podré yo soportar el degüello y la mortandad de todo mi pueblo?

El rey Asuero respondió a la reina Ester y al judío Mardoqueo en estos términos: Yo he dado a Ester la casa de Amán y a éste le he mandado crucificar por la osadía de querer perder a los judíos.
Y respondió el rey Assuero á la reina Esther, y á Mardochêo Judío: He aquí yo he dado á Esther la casa de Amán, y á él han colgado en la horca, por cuanto extendió su mano contra los Judíos.

Con esto, llamados los secretarios y escribientes del rey, corriendo el mes tercero, llamado Sibán, el día veintitrés, fueron escritas las cartas del modo que quiso Mardoqueo, a los judíos, y a los príncipes, y a los gobernadores, y jueces que mandaban en las ciento veintisiete provincias, desde la India hasta la Etiopía; provincia por provincia, pueblo por pueblo, según sus lenguas y alfabetos, como también a los judíos, para que todo el mundo pudiese leerlas y entenderlas.

Then were the king’s scribes called at that time in the third month, that is, the month Sivan, on the three and twentieth day thereof; and it was written according to all that Mordecai commanded unto the Jews, and to the lieutenants, and the deputies and rulers of the provinces which are from India unto Ethiopia, an hundred twenty and seven provinces, unto every province according to the writing thereof, and unto every people after their language, and to the Jews according to their writing, and according to their language.

Estas mismas cartas, escritas en nombre del rey, fueron selladas con su anillo y remitidas por correos; los cuales recorriendo con rapidez todas las provincias, cambiasen por medio de las nuevas órdenes el efecto de las cartas primeras.

La sustancia de las cartas era notificar a todas las tierras y pueblos sujetos al imperio del rey Asuero, que los judíos estaban dispuestos y autorizados a vengarse de sus enemigos.
La copia de la escritura que había de darse por ordenanza en cada provincia, para que fuese manifiesta á todos los pueblos, decía que los Judíos estuviesen apercibidos para aquel día, para vengarse de sus enemigos.
