1E IL Signore disse a Mosè: Entra da Faraone; perciocchè io ho aggravato il suo cuore, e il cuore dei suoi servitori, acciocchè io ponga questi miei segni in mezzo del suo paese;
2e acciocchè tu racconti al tuo figliuolo, e al figliuolo del tuo figliuolo, ciò che io avrò operato in Egitto, e i segni che avrò fatti fra loro; e che voi conosciate che io sono il Signore.
3Mosè adunque ed Aaronne entrarono da Faraone, e gli dissero: Così ha detto il Signore Iddio degli Ebrei: Fino a quando ricuserai d'umiliarti davanti alla mia faccia? lascia andare il mio popolo, acciocchè mi serva.
4Perciocchè, se tu ricusi di lasciarlo andare, ecco, io fo venir domane delle locuste nelle tue contrade.
5Ed esse copriranno la faccia della terra, talchè la terra non si potrà vedere; e mangeranno il rimanente ch'è scampato, quel che vi è restato dalla gragnuola; mangeranno ancora ogni albero che vi germoglia fuori ne' campi.
6Ed empieranno le tue case, e le case di tutti i tuoi servitori, e le case di tutti gli Egizj; il che nè i tuoi padri nè i padri de' tuoi padri, giammai non videro, dal giorno che furono in su la terra, infino ad oggi. Detto questo, egli si rivoltò indietro, e uscì d'appresso a Faraone.
7E i servitori di Faraone gli dissero: Fino a quando ci sarà costui per laccio? lascia andar questi uomini acciocchè servano al Signore Iddio loro; non sai tu ancora che l'Egitto è perito?
8Allora Mosè ed Aaronne furono fatti tornare a Faraone; ed egli disse loro: Andate, servite al Signore Iddio vostro; ma chi e chi son coloro che andranno?
9E Mosè disse: Noi andremo co' nostri fanciulli, e co' nostri vecchi; noi andremo co' nostri figliuoli, e con le nostre figliuole; con le nostre gregge, e co' nostri armenti; perciocchè abbiamo a celebrare una festa al Signore.
10Ed egli disse loro: Così sia il Signore con voi, come io vi lascerò andare con le vostre famiglie; guardate, perciocchè il male vi soprastà davanti agli occhi.
11E' non sarà così; andate ora voi uomini, e servite al Signore; poichè questo è quel che voi cercate. E Faraone li cacciò dal suo cospetto.
12E il Signore disse a Mosè: Stendi la tua mano sopra il paese di Egitto, per far venir le locuste; ed esse saliranno sopra il paese di Egitto, e mangeranno tutta l'erba della terra; tutto quel che la gragnuola ha lasciato di resto.
13E Mosè stese la sua bacchetta sopra il paese di Egitto; e il Signore fece venire un vento orientale in sul paese tutto quel giorno, e tutta quella notte; e, come fu mattina, il vento orientale avea portate le locuste.
14E le locuste salirono sopra tutto il paese di Egitto, e si posarono per tutte le contrade di Egitto, in grandissima moltitudine; avanti quelle non ne furono, e dopo quelle non ne saranno giammai di tali.
15Ed esse copersero la faccia di tutto il paese, talchè il paese ne fu scurato, e mangiarono tutta l'erba del paese, e tutti i frutti degli alberi, i quali la gragnuola avea lasciati di resto; e non rimase alcun verdume negli alberi, nè nell'erbe dei campi per tutto il paese di Egitto.
16Allora Faraone fece prestamente chiamar Mosè ed Aaronne, e disse loro: Io ho peccato contro al Signore Iddio vostro, e contro a voi.
17Ma ora perdonami, ti prego, il mio peccato, sol questa volta; e pregate il Signore Iddio vostro, che rimuova d'addosso a me sol questa morte.
18E Mosè uscì d'appresso a Faraone, e pregò il Signore.
19E il Signore voltò il vento in un fortissimo vento occidentale, il qual portò via le locuste, e le affondò nel mar rosso; e' non vi restò una sola locusta in tutti i confini di Egitto.
20Ma il Signore indurò il cuor di Faraone; ed egli non lasciò andare i figliuoli d'Israele.
21E IL Signore disse a Mosè: Stendi la tua mano verso il cielo, e verranno tenebre sopra il paese di Egitto, tali che si potranno tastar con le mani.
22E Mosè stese la sua mano verso il cielo, e vennero tenebre caliginose in tutto il paese di Egitto, per lo spazio di tre giorni.
23L'uno non vedeva l'altro; e niuno si levò dal suo luogo, per lo spazio di tre giorni; ma tutti i figliuoli d'Israele ebbero luce nelle loro stanze.
24E Faraone chiamò Mosè, e disse: Andate, servite al Signore; sol le vostre gregge e i vostri armenti saranno fatti restare; le vostre famiglie eziandio andranno con voi.
25E Mosè disse: Tu ci concederai pure ancora di prender sacrificii ed olocausti, per offerire al Signore Iddio nostro.
26Anche il nostro bestiame verrà con noi, senza che ne rimanga pure un'unghia; perciocchè di esso noi abbiamo a prendere da servire al Signore Iddio nostro; e noi non sappiamo con che abbiamo a servire al Signore, finchè siamo arrivati là.
27Ma il Signore indurò il cuor di Faraone, ed egli non volle lasciarli andare.
28E Faraone disse a Mosè: Vattene d'appresso a me; guardati che tu non vegga mai più la mia faccia; perciocchè nel giorno che tu vedrai la mai faccia, tu morrai.
29E Mosè disse: Tu hai parlato bene: io non vedrò più la tua faccia.

1Y JEHOVÁ dijo á Moisés: Entra á Faraón; porque yo he agravado su corazón, y el corazón de sus siervos, para dar entre ellos estas mis señales;
2Y para que cuentes á tus hijos y á tus nietos las cosas que yo hice en Egipto, y mis señales que dí entre ellos; y para que sepáis que yo soy Jehová.
3Entonces vinieron Moisés y Aarón á Faraón, y le dijeron: Jehová, el Dios de los Hebreos, ha dicho así: ¿Hasta cuándo no querrás humillarte delante de mí? Deja ir á mi pueblo para que me sirvan.
4Y si aun rehusas dejarlo ir, he aquí que yo traeré mañana langosta en tus términos,
5La cual cubrirá la faz de la tierra, de modo que no pueda verse la tierra; y ella comerá lo que quedó salvo, lo que os ha quedado del granizo; comerá asimismo todo árbol que os produce fruto en el campo:
6Y llenarse han tus casas, y las casas de todos tus siervos, y las casas de todos los Egipcios, cual nunca vieron tus padres ni tus abuelos, desde que ellos fueron sobre la tierra hasta hoy. Y volvióse, y salió de con Faraón.
7Entonces los siervos de Faraón le dijeron: ¿Hasta cuándo nos ha de ser éste por lazo? Deja ir á estos hombres, para que sirvan á Jehová su Dios; ¿aun no sabes que Egipto está destruído?
8Y Moisés y Aarón volvieron á ser llamados á Faraón, el cual les dijo: Andad, servid á Jehová vuestro Dios. ¿Quién y quién son los que han de ir?
9Y Moisés respondió: Hemos de ir con nuestros niños y con nuestros viejos, con nuestros hijos y con nuestras hijas: con nuestras ovejas y con nuestras vacas hemos de ir; porque tenemos solemnidad de Jehová.
10Y él les dijo: Así sea Jehová con vosotros como yo os dejaré ir á vosotros y á vuestros niños: mirad como el mal está delante de vuestro rostro.
11No será así: id ahora vosotros los varones, y servid á Jehová: pues esto es lo que vosotros demandasteis. Y echáronlos de delante de Faraón.
12Entonces Jehová dijo á Moisés: Extiende tu mano sobre la tierra de Egipto para langosta, á fin de que suba sobre el país de Egipto, y consuma todo lo que el granizo dejó.
13Y extendió Moisés su vara sobre la tierra de Egipto, y Jehová trajo un viento oriental sobre el país todo aquel día y toda aquella noche; y á la mañana el viento oriental trajo la langosta:
14Y subió la langosta sobre toda la tierra de Egipto, y asentóse en todos los términos de Egipto, en gran manera grave: antes de ella no hubo langosta semejante, ni después de ella vendrá otra tal;
15Y cubrió la faz de todo el país, y oscurecióse la tierra; y consumió toda la hierba de la tierra, y todo el fruto de los árboles que había dejado el granizo; que no quedó cosa verde en árboles ni en hierba del campo, por toda la tierra de Egipto.
16Entonces Faraón hizo llamar apriesa á Moisés y á Aarón, y dijo: He pecado contra Jehová vuestro Dios, y contra vosotros.
17Mas ruego ahora que perdones mi pecado solamente esta vez, y que oréis á Jehová vuestro Dios que quite de mí solamente esta muerte.
18Y salió de con Faraón, y oró á Jehová.
19Y Jehová volvió un viento occidental fortísimo, y quitó la langosta, y arrojóla en el mar Bermejo: ni una langosta quedó en todo el término de Egipto.
20Mas Jehová endureció el corazón de Faraón; y no envió los hijos de Israel.
21Y Jehová dijo á Moisés: Extiende tu mano hacia el cielo, para que haya tinieblas sobre la tierra de Egipto, tales que cualquiera las palpe.
22Y extendió Moisés su mano hacia el cielo, y hubo densas tinieblas tres días por toda la tierra de Egipto.
23Ninguno vió á su prójimo, ni nadie se levantó de su lugar en tres días; mas todos los hijos de Israel tenían luz en sus habitaciones.
24Entonces Faraón hizo llamar á Moisés, y dijo: Id, servid á Jehová; solamente queden vuestras ovejas y vuestras vacas: vayan también vuestros niños con vosotros.
25Y Moisés respondió: Tú también nos entregarás sacrificios y holocaustos que sacrifiquemos á Jehová nuestro Dios.
26Nuestros ganados irán también con nosotros; no quedará ni una uña; porque de ellos hemos de tomar para servir á Jehová nuestro Dios; y no sabemos con qué hemos de servir á Jehová, hasta que lleguemos allá.
27Mas Jehová endureció el corazón de Faraón, y no quiso dejarlos ir.
28Y díjole Faraón: Retírate de mí: guárdate que no veas más mi rostro, porque en cualquier día que vieres mi rostro, morirás.
29Y Moisés respondió: Bien has dicho; no veré más tu rostro.

1And the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might shew these my signs before him:
2And that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son’s son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that ye may know how that I am the LORD.
3And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me.
4Else, if thou refuse to let my people go, behold, to morrow will I bring the locusts into thy coast:
5And they shall cover the face of the earth, that one cannot be able to see the earth: and they shall eat the residue of that which is escaped, which remaineth unto you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which groweth for you out of the field:
6And they shall fill thy houses, and the houses of all thy servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians; which neither thy fathers, nor thy fathers’ fathers have seen, since the day that they were upon the earth unto this day. And he turned himself, and went out from Pharaoh.
7And Pharaoh’s servants said unto him, How long shall this man be a snare unto us? let the men go, that they may serve the LORD their God: knowest thou not yet that Egypt is destroyed?
8And Moses and Aaron were brought again unto Pharaoh: and he said unto them, Go, serve the LORD your God: but who are they that shall go?
9And Moses said, We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we must hold a feast unto the LORD.
10And he said unto them, Let the LORD be so with you, as I will let you go, and your little ones: look to it; for evil is before you.
11Not so: go now ye that are men, and serve the LORD; for that ye did desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh’s presence.
12And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the land, even all that the hail hath left.
13And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.
14And the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the coasts of Egypt: very grievous were they; before them there were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall be such.
15For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened; and they did eat every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left: and there remained not any green thing in the trees, or in the herbs of the field, through all the land of Egypt.
16Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste; and he said, I have sinned against the LORD your God, and against you.
17Now therefore forgive, I pray thee, my sin only this once, and intreat the LORD your God, that he may take away from me this death only.
18And he went out from Pharaoh, and intreated the LORD.
19And the LORD turned a mighty strong west wind, which took away the locusts, and cast them into the Red sea; there remained not one locust in all the coasts of Egypt.
20But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go.
21And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt.
22And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days:
23They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
24And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you.
25And Moses said, Thou must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice unto the LORD our God.
26Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve the LORD our God; and we know not with what we must serve the LORD, until we come thither.
27But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not let them go.
28And Pharaoh said unto him, Get thee from me, take heed to thyself, see my face no more; for in that day thou seest my face thou shalt die.
29And Moses said, Thou hast spoken well, I will see thy face again no more.

1The LORD said to Moses, “Go in to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the heart of his servants, that I may show these my signs among them;
2and that you may tell in the hearing of your son, and of your son’s son, what things I have done to Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that you may know that I am the LORD.”
3Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh, and said to him, “This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: ‘How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? Let my people go, that they may serve me.
4Or else, if you refuse to let my people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring locusts into your country,
5and they shall cover the surface of the earth, so that one won’t be able to see the earth. They shall eat the residue of that which has escaped, which remains to you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which grows for you out of the field.
6Your houses shall be filled, and the houses of all your servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians, as neither your fathers nor your fathers’ fathers have seen, since the day that they were on the earth to this day.’” He turned, and went out from Pharaoh.
7Pharaoh’s servants said to him, “How long will this man be a snare to us? Let the men go, that they may serve the LORD, their God. Don’t you yet know that Egypt is destroyed?”
8Moses and Aaron were brought again to Pharaoh, and he said to them, “Go, serve the LORD your God; but who are those who will go?”
9Moses said, “We will go with our young and with our old. We will go with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds; for we must hold a feast to the LORD.”
10He said to them, “The LORD be with you if I let you go with your little ones! See, evil is clearly before your faces.
11Not so! Go now you who are men, and serve the LORD; for that is what you desire!” Then they were driven out from Pharaoh’s presence.
12The LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up on the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the land, even all that the hail has left.”
13Moses stretched out his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind on the land all that day, and all night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.
14The locusts went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the borders of Egypt. They were very grievous. Before them there were no such locusts as they, nor will there ever be again.
15For they covered the surface of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened, and they ate every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left. There remained nothing green, either tree or herb of the field, through all the land of Egypt.
16Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste, and he said, “I have sinned against the LORD your God, and against you.
17Now therefore please forgive my sin again, and pray to the LORD your God, that he may also take away from me this death.”
18Moses went out from Pharaoh, and prayed to the LORD.
19The LORD sent an exceedingly strong west wind, which took up the locusts, and drove them into the Red Sea. There remained not one locust in all the borders of Egypt.
20But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he didn’t let the children of Israel go.
21The LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward the sky, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt.”
22Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt for three days.
23They didn’t see one another, and nobody rose from his place for three days; but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
24Pharaoh called to Moses, and said, “Go, serve the LORD. Only let your flocks and your herds stay behind. Let your little ones also go with you.”
25Moses said, “You must also give into our hand sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.
26Our livestock also shall go with us. Not a hoof shall be left behind, for of it we must take to serve the LORD our God; and we don’t know with what we must serve the LORD, until we come there.”
27But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he wouldn’t let them go.
28Pharaoh said to him, “Get away from me! Be careful to see my face no more; for in the day you see my face you shall die!”
29Moses said, “You have spoken well. I will see your face again no more.”
