Palabra de Dios para Ti
1Yavé dijo a Moisés: Vé a Faraón, pues Yo endurecí su corazón y el corazón de sus esclavos, para mostrar entre ellos estas señales mías,
2para que cuentes a tus hijos y a tus nietos lo que Yo ejecuté en Egipto, y mis señales que hice entre ellos, para que ustedes entiendan que Yo soy Yavé.
3Moisés y Aarón fueron a Faraón y le dijeron: Yavé el ʼElohim de los hebreos dice: ¿Hasta cuándo rehusarás humillarte delante de Mí? Deja que mi pueblo salga para que me sirva.
4Porque si tú rehúsas dejar ir a mi pueblo, ciertamente mañana traeré saltamontes a tu territorio,
5los cuales cubrirán la superficie de la tierra, de modo que nadie pueda ver la tierra. Ellas también se comerán el resto, lo que te quedó del granizo. Se comerán todo árbol que te brota en el campo.
6Se llenarán tus casas, las casas de todos tus esclavos y las casas de todos los egipcios, como nunca lo vieron tus antepasados, ni tus abuelos desde el día cuando se establecieron en la tierra hasta hoy. Y dio la vuelta y salió de la presencia de Faraón.
7Los esclavos de Faraón le dijeron: ¿Hasta cuándo este hombre será una trampa para nosotros? Deja que esta gente vaya y sirva a Yavé su ʼElohim. ¿No reconoces que Egipto es destruido?
8Entonces Moisés y Aarón fueron llevados de regreso ante Faraón, quien les dijo: Vayan, sirvan a Yavé su ʼElohim. ¿Quiénes son los que van?
9Moisés respondió: Iremos con nuestros jóvenes y con nuestros ancianos, con nuestros hijos y con nuestras hijas. Iremos con nuestras ovejas y manadas de ganado vacuno, porque tenemos una festividad para Yavé.
10Y él les respondió: ¡Aunque Yavé esté con ustedes, no los dejaré salir con sus pequeños! ¡Consideren cómo sus malas intenciones están a la vista!
11¡No será así! Vayan ustedes, los varones, y sirvan a Yavé, pues esto es lo que ustedes pidieron. Y los echaron de la presencia de Faraón.
12Yavé dijo a Moisés: Extiende tu mano sobre la tierra de Egipto para que los saltamontes vengan sobre la tierra de Egipto y se coman toda planta de la tierra, todo lo que dejó el granizo.
13Moisés extendió su vara sobre la tierra de Egipto, y todo aquel día y toda aquella noche Yavé trajo un viento del este sobre el país. Al llegar la mañana, el viento del este trajo los saltamontes.
14Los saltamontes subieron y se posaron toda la tierra de Egipto. Eran muy numerosos. Nunca antes hubo tantos saltamontes, ni volverá a haber.
15Cubrieron la superficie de todo el país y la tierra fue oscurecida. Consumieron toda planta y todo el fruto de los árboles que dejó el granizo. Nada quedó verde en los árboles ni en las plantas del campo en toda la tierra de Egipto.
16Entonces Faraón se apresuró a llamar a Moisés y a Aarón, y les dijo: Pequé contra Yavé su ʼElohim y contra ustedes.
17Por tanto les ruego que perdonen mi pecado solo esta vez y que supliquen a Yavé su ʼElohim, que solo quite de mí esta muerte.
18Él salió de la presencia de Faraón y suplicó a Yavé.
19Yavé cambió por un fuerte viento de occidente que llevó los saltamontes y los lanzó al mar Rojo. No quedó ni un saltamontes en todo el territorio de Egipto.
20Pero Yavé endureció el corazón de Faraón, y éste no dejó salir a los hijos de Israel.
21Luego Yavé dijo a Moisés: Extiende tu mano hacia el cielo para que haya oscuridad sobre la tierra de Egipto, una oscuridad de tal clase que se palpe.
22Moisés extendió su mano al cielo, y hubo una densa oscuridad en toda la tierra de Egipto durante tres días.
23No se veían el uno al otro, ni alguno se levantó de su lugar en tres días. Pero para todos los hijos de Israel hubo luz en sus viviendas.
24Entonces Faraón llamó a Moisés: Vayan, sirvan a Yavé, y vayan también sus pequeños con ustedes. Solamente queden sus ovejas y sus manadas de ganado vacuno.
25Pero Moisés respondió: Tú también tienes que dejarnos ofrecer sacrificios y holocaustos a Yavé nuestro ʼElohim.
26También nuestro ganado irá con nosotros. No quedará ni una pezuña, porque tenemos que tomar de ellos para servir a Yavé nuestro ʼElohim, pues hasta que lleguemos allí, no sabremos con qué serviremos a Yavé.
27Pero Yavé endureció el corazón de Faraón, y no quiso dejarlos salir.
28Faraón le dijo: ¡Retírate de mí! ¡Guárdate de no volver a ver mi rostro, porque el día cuando veas mi rostro, morirás!
29Moisés respondió: Bien dijiste. No volveré a ver tu rostro.

1Y JEHOVÁ dijo á Moisés: Entra á Faraón; porque yo he agravado su corazón, y el corazón de sus siervos, para dar entre ellos estas mis señales;
2Y para que cuentes á tus hijos y á tus nietos las cosas que yo hice en Egipto, y mis señales que dí entre ellos; y para que sepáis que yo soy Jehová.
3Entonces vinieron Moisés y Aarón á Faraón, y le dijeron: Jehová, el Dios de los Hebreos, ha dicho así: ¿Hasta cuándo no querrás humillarte delante de mí? Deja ir á mi pueblo para que me sirvan.
4Y si aun rehusas dejarlo ir, he aquí que yo traeré mañana langosta en tus términos,
5La cual cubrirá la faz de la tierra, de modo que no pueda verse la tierra; y ella comerá lo que quedó salvo, lo que os ha quedado del granizo; comerá asimismo todo árbol que os produce fruto en el campo:
6Y llenarse han tus casas, y las casas de todos tus siervos, y las casas de todos los Egipcios, cual nunca vieron tus padres ni tus abuelos, desde que ellos fueron sobre la tierra hasta hoy. Y volvióse, y salió de con Faraón.
7Entonces los siervos de Faraón le dijeron: ¿Hasta cuándo nos ha de ser éste por lazo? Deja ir á estos hombres, para que sirvan á Jehová su Dios; ¿aun no sabes que Egipto está destruído?
8Y Moisés y Aarón volvieron á ser llamados á Faraón, el cual les dijo: Andad, servid á Jehová vuestro Dios. ¿Quién y quién son los que han de ir?
9Y Moisés respondió: Hemos de ir con nuestros niños y con nuestros viejos, con nuestros hijos y con nuestras hijas: con nuestras ovejas y con nuestras vacas hemos de ir; porque tenemos solemnidad de Jehová.
10Y él les dijo: Así sea Jehová con vosotros como yo os dejaré ir á vosotros y á vuestros niños: mirad como el mal está delante de vuestro rostro.
11No será así: id ahora vosotros los varones, y servid á Jehová: pues esto es lo que vosotros demandasteis. Y echáronlos de delante de Faraón.
12Entonces Jehová dijo á Moisés: Extiende tu mano sobre la tierra de Egipto para langosta, á fin de que suba sobre el país de Egipto, y consuma todo lo que el granizo dejó.
13Y extendió Moisés su vara sobre la tierra de Egipto, y Jehová trajo un viento oriental sobre el país todo aquel día y toda aquella noche; y á la mañana el viento oriental trajo la langosta:
14Y subió la langosta sobre toda la tierra de Egipto, y asentóse en todos los términos de Egipto, en gran manera grave: antes de ella no hubo langosta semejante, ni después de ella vendrá otra tal;
15Y cubrió la faz de todo el país, y oscurecióse la tierra; y consumió toda la hierba de la tierra, y todo el fruto de los árboles que había dejado el granizo; que no quedó cosa verde en árboles ni en hierba del campo, por toda la tierra de Egipto.
16Entonces Faraón hizo llamar apriesa á Moisés y á Aarón, y dijo: He pecado contra Jehová vuestro Dios, y contra vosotros.
17Mas ruego ahora que perdones mi pecado solamente esta vez, y que oréis á Jehová vuestro Dios que quite de mí solamente esta muerte.
18Y salió de con Faraón, y oró á Jehová.
19Y Jehová volvió un viento occidental fortísimo, y quitó la langosta, y arrojóla en el mar Bermejo: ni una langosta quedó en todo el término de Egipto.
20Mas Jehová endureció el corazón de Faraón; y no envió los hijos de Israel.
21Y Jehová dijo á Moisés: Extiende tu mano hacia el cielo, para que haya tinieblas sobre la tierra de Egipto, tales que cualquiera las palpe.
22Y extendió Moisés su mano hacia el cielo, y hubo densas tinieblas tres días por toda la tierra de Egipto.
23Ninguno vió á su prójimo, ni nadie se levantó de su lugar en tres días; mas todos los hijos de Israel tenían luz en sus habitaciones.
24Entonces Faraón hizo llamar á Moisés, y dijo: Id, servid á Jehová; solamente queden vuestras ovejas y vuestras vacas: vayan también vuestros niños con vosotros.
25Y Moisés respondió: Tú también nos entregarás sacrificios y holocaustos que sacrifiquemos á Jehová nuestro Dios.
26Nuestros ganados irán también con nosotros; no quedará ni una uña; porque de ellos hemos de tomar para servir á Jehová nuestro Dios; y no sabemos con qué hemos de servir á Jehová, hasta que lleguemos allá.
27Mas Jehová endureció el corazón de Faraón, y no quiso dejarlos ir.
28Y díjole Faraón: Retírate de mí: guárdate que no veas más mi rostro, porque en cualquier día que vieres mi rostro, morirás.
29Y Moisés respondió: Bien has dicho; no veré más tu rostro.

1And the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might shew these my signs before him:
2And that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son’s son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that ye may know how that I am the LORD.
3And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me.
4Else, if thou refuse to let my people go, behold, to morrow will I bring the locusts into thy coast:
5And they shall cover the face of the earth, that one cannot be able to see the earth: and they shall eat the residue of that which is escaped, which remaineth unto you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which groweth for you out of the field:
6And they shall fill thy houses, and the houses of all thy servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians; which neither thy fathers, nor thy fathers’ fathers have seen, since the day that they were upon the earth unto this day. And he turned himself, and went out from Pharaoh.
7And Pharaoh’s servants said unto him, How long shall this man be a snare unto us? let the men go, that they may serve the LORD their God: knowest thou not yet that Egypt is destroyed?
8And Moses and Aaron were brought again unto Pharaoh: and he said unto them, Go, serve the LORD your God: but who are they that shall go?
9And Moses said, We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we must hold a feast unto the LORD.
10And he said unto them, Let the LORD be so with you, as I will let you go, and your little ones: look to it; for evil is before you.
11Not so: go now ye that are men, and serve the LORD; for that ye did desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh’s presence.
12And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the land, even all that the hail hath left.
13And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.
14And the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the coasts of Egypt: very grievous were they; before them there were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall be such.
15For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened; and they did eat every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left: and there remained not any green thing in the trees, or in the herbs of the field, through all the land of Egypt.
16Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste; and he said, I have sinned against the LORD your God, and against you.
17Now therefore forgive, I pray thee, my sin only this once, and intreat the LORD your God, that he may take away from me this death only.
18And he went out from Pharaoh, and intreated the LORD.
19And the LORD turned a mighty strong west wind, which took away the locusts, and cast them into the Red sea; there remained not one locust in all the coasts of Egypt.
20But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go.
21And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt.
22And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days:
23They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
24And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you.
25And Moses said, Thou must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice unto the LORD our God.
26Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve the LORD our God; and we know not with what we must serve the LORD, until we come thither.
27But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not let them go.
28And Pharaoh said unto him, Get thee from me, take heed to thyself, see my face no more; for in that day thou seest my face thou shalt die.
29And Moses said, Thou hast spoken well, I will see thy face again no more.
World English Bible
1The LORD said to Moses, “Go in to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the heart of his servants, that I may show these my signs among them;
2and that you may tell in the hearing of your son, and of your son’s son, what things I have done to Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that you may know that I am the LORD.”
3Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh, and said to him, “This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: ‘How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? Let my people go, that they may serve me.
4Or else, if you refuse to let my people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring locusts into your country,
5and they shall cover the surface of the earth, so that one won’t be able to see the earth. They shall eat the residue of that which has escaped, which remains to you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which grows for you out of the field.
6Your houses shall be filled, and the houses of all your servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians, as neither your fathers nor your fathers’ fathers have seen, since the day that they were on the earth to this day.’” He turned, and went out from Pharaoh.
7Pharaoh’s servants said to him, “How long will this man be a snare to us? Let the men go, that they may serve the LORD, their God. Don’t you yet know that Egypt is destroyed?”
8Moses and Aaron were brought again to Pharaoh, and he said to them, “Go, serve the LORD your God; but who are those who will go?”
9Moses said, “We will go with our young and with our old. We will go with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds; for we must hold a feast to the LORD.”
10He said to them, “The LORD be with you if I let you go with your little ones! See, evil is clearly before your faces.
11Not so! Go now you who are men, and serve the LORD; for that is what you desire!” Then they were driven out from Pharaoh’s presence.
12The LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up on the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the land, even all that the hail has left.”
13Moses stretched out his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind on the land all that day, and all night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.
14The locusts went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the borders of Egypt. They were very grievous. Before them there were no such locusts as they, nor will there ever be again.

16Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste, and he said, “I have sinned against the LORD your God, and against you.
17Now therefore please forgive my sin again, and pray to the LORD your God, that he may also take away from me this death.”
18Moses went out from Pharaoh, and prayed to the LORD.
19The LORD sent an exceedingly strong west wind, which took up the locusts, and drove them into the Red Sea. There remained not one locust in all the borders of Egypt.
20But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he didn’t let the children of Israel go.
21The LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward the sky, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt.”
22Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt for three days.
23They didn’t see one another, and nobody rose from his place for three days; but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
24Pharaoh called to Moses, and said, “Go, serve the LORD. Only let your flocks and your herds stay behind. Let your little ones also go with you.”
25Moses said, “You must also give into our hand sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.
26Our livestock also shall go with us. Not a hoof shall be left behind, for of it we must take to serve the LORD our God; and we don’t know with what we must serve the LORD, until we come there.”
27But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he wouldn’t let them go.
28Pharaoh said to him, “Get away from me! Be careful to see my face no more; for in the day you see my face you shall die!”
29Moses said, “You have spoken well. I will see your face again no more.”
