1Und sie brachen auf von Elim, und die ganze Gemeinde der Kinder Israel kam in die Wüste Sin, die zwischen Elim und Sinai ist, am fünfzehnten Tage des zweiten Monats nach ihrem Auszuge aus dem Lande Ägypten.
2Und die ganze Gemeinde der Kinder Israel murrte wieder Mose und wider Aaron in der Wüste.
3Und die Kinder Israel sprachen zu ihnen: Wären wir doch im Lande Ägypten durch die Hand Jehovas gestorben, als wir bei den Fleischtöpfen saßen, als wir Brot aßen bis zur Sättigung! Denn ihr habt uns in diese Wüste herausgeführt, um diese ganze Versammlung Hungers sterben zu lassen.
4Da sprach Jehova zu Mose: Siehe, ich werde euch Brot vom Himmel regnen lassen; und das Volk soll hinausgehen und den täglichen Bedarf an seinem Tage sammeln, damit ich es versuche, ob es wandeln wird in meinem Gesetz oder nicht.
5Und es soll geschehen, am sechsten Tage, da sollen sie zubereiten, was sie einbringen, und es wird das Doppelte von dem sein, was sie tagtäglich sammeln werden.
6Und Mose und Aaron sprachen zu allen Kindern Israel: Am Abend, da werdet ihr erkennen, daß Jehova euch aus dem Lande Ägypten herausgeführt hat;
7und am Morgen, da werdet ihr die Herrlichkeit Jehovas sehen, indem er euer Murren wider Jehova gehört hat; denn was sind wir, daß ihr wider uns murret!
8Und Mose sprach: Dadurch werdet ihr's erkennen, daß Jehova euch am Abend Fleisch zu essen geben wird und am Morgen Brot bis zur Sättigung, indem Jehova euer Murren gehört hat, womit ihr wider ihn murret. Denn was sind wir? Nicht wider uns ist euer Murren, sondern wider Jehova.
9Und Mose sprach zu Aaron: Sprich zu der ganzen Gemeinde der Kinder Israel: Nahet herzu vor Jehova, denn er hat euer Murren gehört.
10Und es geschah, als Aaron zu der ganzen Gemeinde der Kinder Israel redete, da wandten sie sich gegen die Wüste; und siehe, die Herrlichkeit Jehovas erschien in der Wolke.
11Und Jehova redete zu Mose und sprach:
12Ich habe das Murren der Kinder Israel gehört; rede zu ihnen und sprich: Zwischen den zwei Abenden werdet ihr Fleisch essen, und am Morgen werdet ihr von Brot satt werden; und ihr werdet erkennen, daß ich Jehova bin, euer Gott.
13Und es geschah am Abend, da kamen Wachteln herauf und bedeckten das Lager; und am Morgen war eine Tauschicht rings um das Lager.
14Und die Tauschicht stieg auf, und siehe, da lag's auf der Fläche der Wüste fein, körnig, fein, wie der Reif auf der Erde.
15Und die Kinder Israel sahen es und sprachen einer zum anderen: Was ist das? Denn sie wußten nicht, was es war. Und Mose sprach zu ihnen: Dies ist das Brot, das Jehova euch zur Nahrung gegeben hat.
16Dies ist das Wort, das Jehova geboten hat: Sammelt davon, ein jeder nach dem Maße seines Essens; einen Ghomer für den Kopf, nach der Zahl eurer Seelen, sollt ihr nehmen, ein jeder für die, welche in seinem Zelte sind.
17Und die Kinder Israel taten also und sammelten, der viel und der wenig.
18Und sie maßen mit dem Ghomer: da hatte, wer viel gesammelt hatte, nicht übrig, und wer wenig gesammelt hatte, dem mangelte nicht; sie hatten gesammelt, ein jeder nach dem Maße seines Essens.
19Und Mose sprach zu ihnen: Niemand lasse davon übrig bis an den Morgen.
20Aber sie hörten nicht auf Mose, und etliche ließen davon übrig bis an den Morgen; da wuchsen Würmer darin, und es ward stinkend. Und Mose wurde zornig über sie.
21Und sie sammelten es Morgen für Morgen, ein jeder nach dem Maße seines Essens; und wenn die Sonne heiß wurde, so zerschmolz es.
22Und es geschah am sechsten Tage, da sammelten sie das Doppelte an Brot, zwei Ghomer für einen; und alle Fürsten der Gemeinde kamen und berichteten es Mose.
23Und er sprach zu ihnen: Dies ist es, was Jehova geredet hat: Morgen ist Ruhe, ein heiliger Sabbath dem Jehova; was ihr backen wollt, backet, und was ihr kochen wollt, kochet. Alles aber, was übrigbleibt, leget euch hin zur Aufbewahrung bis an den Morgen.
24Und sie legten es hin bis an den Morgen, so wie Mose geboten hatte; und es stank nicht, und es war kein Wurm darin.
25Da sprach Mose: Esset es heute, denn heute ist Sabbath dem Jehova; ihr werdet es heute auf dem Felde nicht finden.
26Sechs Tage sollt ihr es sammeln; aber am siebten Tage ist Sabbath, an dem wird es nicht sein.
27Und es geschah am siebten Tage, daß etliche von dem Volke hinausgingen, um zu sammeln, und sie fanden nichts.
28Und Jehova sprach zu Mose: Bis wann weigert ihr euch, meine Gebote und meine Gesetze zu beobachten?
29Sehet, weil Jehova euch den Sabbath gegeben hat, darum gibt er euch am sechsten Tage Brot für zwei Tage; bleibet ein jeder an seiner Stelle, niemand gehe am siebten Tage von seinem Orte heraus.
30Und das Volk ruhte am siebten Tage.
31Und das Haus Israel gab ihm den Namen Man; und es war wie Koriandersamen, weiß, und sein Geschmack wie Kuchen mit Honig.
32Und Mose sprach: Dies ist das Wort, das Jehova geboten hat: Ein Ghomer voll davon sei zur Aufbewahrung für eure Geschlechter, damit sie das Brot sehen, womit ich euch in der Wüste gespeist habe, als ich euch aus dem Lande Ägypten herausführte.
33Und Mose sprach zu Aaron: Nimm einen Krug und tue Man darein, einen Ghomer voll, und lege es vor Jehova nieder zur Aufbewahrung für eure Geschlechter.
34So wie Jehova Mose geboten hatte, legte Aaron es vor das Zeugnis nieder, zur Aufbewahrung. -
35Und die Kinder Israel aßen das Man vierzig Jahre, bis sie in ein bewohntes Land kamen; sie aßen das Man, bis sie an die Grenze des Landes Kanaan kamen.
36Der Ghomer aber ist ein Zehntel vom Epha.

1Y PARTIENDO de Elim toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel, vino al desierto de Sin, que está entre Elim y Sinaí, á los quince días del segundo mes después que salieron de la tierra de Egipto.
2Y toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel murmuró contra Moisés y Aarón en el desierto;
3Y decíanles los hijos de Israel: Ojalá hubiéramos muerto por mano de Jehová en la tierra de Egipto, cuando nos sentábamos á las ollas de las carnes, cuando comíamos pan en hartura; pues nos habéis sacado á este desierto, para matar de hambre á toda esta multitud.
4Y Jehová dijo á Moisés: He aquí yo os haré llover pan del cielo; y el pueblo saldrá, y cogerá para cada un día, para que yo le pruebe si anda en mi ley, ó no.
5Mas al sexto día aparejarán lo que han de encerrar, que será el doble de lo que solían coger cada día.
6Entonces dijo Moisés y Aarón á todos los hijos de Israel: A la tarde sabréis que Jehová os ha sacado de la tierra de Egipto:
7Y á la mañana veréis la gloria de Jehová; porque él ha oído vuestras murmuraciones contra Jehová; que nosotros, ¿qué somos, para que vosotros murmuréis contra nosotros?
8Y dijo Moisés: Jehová os dará á la tarde carne para comer, y á la mañana pan en hartura; por cuanto Jehová ha oído vuestras murmuraciones con que habéis murmurado contra él: que nosotros, ¿qué somos? vuestras murmuraciones no son contra nosotros, sino contra Jehová.
9Y dijo Moisés á Aarón: Di á toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel: Acercaos á la presencia de Jehová; que él ha oído vuestras murmuraciones.
10Y hablando Aarón á toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel, miraron hacia el desierto, y he aquí la gloria de Jehová, que apareció en la nube.
11Y Jehová habló á Moisés, diciendo:
12Yo he oído las murmuraciones de los hijos de Israel; háblales, diciendo: Entre las dos tardes comeréis carne, y por la mañana os hartaréis de pan, y sabréis que yo soy Jehová vuestro Dios.
13Y venida la tarde subieron codornices que cubrieron el real; y á la mañana descendió rocío en derredor del real.
14Y como el rocío cesó de descender, he aquí sobre la haz del desierto una cosa menuda, redonda, menuda como una helada sobre la tierra.
15Y viéndolo los hijos de Israel, se dijeron unos á otros: ¿Qué es esto? porque no sabían qué era. Entonces Moisés les dijo: Es el pan que Jehová os da para comer.
16Esto es lo que Jehová ha mandado: cogeréis de él cada uno según pudiere comer; un gomer por cabeza, conforme al número de vuestras personas, tomaréis cada uno para los que están en su tienda.
17Y los hijos de Israel lo hicieron así: y recogieron unos más, otros menos:
18Y medíanlo por gomer, y no sobraba al que había recogido mucho, ni faltaba al que había recogido poco: cada uno recogió conforme á lo que había de comer.
19Y díjoles Moisés: Ninguno deje nada de ello para mañana.
20Mas ellos no obedecieron á Moisés, sino que algunos dejaron de ello para otro día, y crió gusanos, y pudrióse; y enojóse contra ellos Moisés.
21Y recogíanlo cada mañana, cada uno según lo que había de comer: y luego que el sol calentaba, derretíase.
22En el sexto día recogieron doblada comida, dos gomeres para cada uno: y todos los príncipes de la congregación vinieron á Moisés, y se lo hicieron saber.
23Y él les dijo: Esto es lo que ha dicho Jehová: Mañana es el santo sábado, el reposo de Jehová: lo que hubiereis de cocer, cocedlo hoy, y lo que hubiereis de cocinar, cocinadlo; y todo lo que os sobrare, guardadlo para mañana.
24Y ellos lo guardaron hasta la mañana, según que Moisés había mandado, y no se pudrió, ni hubo en él gusano.
25Y dijo Moisés: Comedlo hoy, porque hoy es sábado de Jehová: hoy no hallaréis en el campo.
26En los seis días lo recogeréis; mas el séptimo día es sábado, en el cual no se hallará.
27Y aconteció que algunos del pueblo salieron en el séptimo día á recoger, y no hallaron.
28Y Jehová dijo á Moisés: ¿Hasta cuándo no querréis guardar mis mandamientos y mis leyes?
29Mirad que Jehová os dió el sábado, y por eso os da en el sexto día pan para dos días. Estése, pues, cada uno en su estancia, y nadie salga de su lugar en el séptimo día.
30Así el pueblo reposó el séptimo día.
31Y la casa de Israel lo llamó Maná; y era como simiente de culantro, blanco, y su sabor como de hojuelas con miel.
32Y dijo Moisés: Esto es lo que Jehová ha mandado: Henchirás un gomer de él para que se guarde para vuestros descendientes, á fin de que vean el pan que yo os dí á comer en el desierto, cuando yo os saqué de la tierra de Egipto.
33Y dijo Moisés á Aarón: Toma un vaso, y pon en él un gomer lleno de maná, y ponlo delante de Jehová, para que sea guardado para vuestros descendientes.
34Y Aarón lo puso delante del Testimonio para guardarlo, como Jehová lo mandó á Moisés.
35Así comieron los hijos de Israel maná cuarenta años, hasta que entraron en la tierra habitada: maná comieron hasta que llegaron al término de la tierra de Canaán.
36Y un gomer es la décima parte del epha.

1And they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt.
2And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness:
3And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.
4Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.
5And it shall come to pass, that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.
6And Moses and Aaron said unto all the children of Israel, At even, then ye shall know that the LORD hath brought you out from the land of Egypt:
7And in the morning, then ye shall see the glory of the LORD; for that he heareth your murmurings against the LORD: and what are we, that ye murmur against us?
8And Moses said, This shall be, when the LORD shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the LORD heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against him: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against the LORD.
9And Moses spake unto Aaron, Say unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, Come near before the LORD: for he hath heard your murmurings.
10And it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud.
11And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
12I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God.
13And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host.
14And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground.
15And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat.
16This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer for every man, according to the number of your persons; take ye every man for them which are in his tents.
17And the children of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, some less.
18And when they did mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating.
19And Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning.
20Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank: and Moses was wroth with them.
21And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating: and when the sun waxed hot, it melted.
22And it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses.
23And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.
24And they laid it up till the morning, as Moses bade: and it did not stink, neither was there any worm therein.
25And Moses said, Eat that to day; for to day is a sabbath unto the LORD: to day ye shall not find it in the field.
26Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be none.
27And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none.
28And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?
29See, for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.
30So the people rested on the seventh day.
31And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna: and it was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.
32And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commandeth, Fill an omer of it to be kept for your generations; that they may see the bread wherewith I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth from the land of Egypt.
33And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it up before the LORD, to be kept for your generations.
34As the LORD commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept.
35And the children of Israel did eat manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan.
36Now an omer is the tenth part of an ephah.

1They took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came to the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt.
2The whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron in the wilderness;
3and the children of Israel said to them, “We wish that we had died by the LORD’s hand in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the meat pots, when we ate our fill of bread, for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.”
4Then the LORD said to Moses, “Behold, I will rain bread from the sky for you, and the people shall go out and gather a day’s portion every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in my law or not.
5It shall come to pass on the sixth day, that they shall prepare that which they bring in, and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.”
6Moses and Aaron said to all the children of Israel, “At evening, you shall know that the LORD has brought you out from the land of Egypt.
7In the morning, you shall see the LORD’s glory; because he hears your murmurings against the LORD. Who are we, that you murmur against us?”
8Moses said, “Now the LORD will give you meat to eat in the evening, and in the morning bread to satisfy you, because the LORD hears your murmurings which you murmur against him. And who are we? Your murmurings are not against us, but against the LORD.”
9Moses said to Aaron, “Tell all the congregation of the children of Israel, ‘Come close to the LORD, for he has heard your murmurings.’”
10As Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the children of Israel, they looked toward the wilderness, and behold, the LORD’s glory appeared in the cloud.
11The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
12“I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel. Speak to them, saying, ‘At evening you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God.’”
13In the evening, quail came up and covered the camp; and in the morning the dew lay around the camp.
14When the dew that lay had gone, behold, on the surface of the wilderness was a small round thing, small as the frost on the ground.
15When the children of Israel saw it, they said to one another, “What is it?” For they didn’t know what it was. Moses said to them, “It is the bread which the LORD has given you to eat.
16This is the thing which the LORD has commanded: ‘Gather of it everyone according to his eating; an omer a head, according to the number of your persons, you shall take it, every man for those who are in his tent.’”
17The children of Israel did so, and some gathered more, some less.
18When they measured it with an omer, he who gathered much had nothing over, and he who gathered little had no lack. They each gathered according to his eating.
19Moses said to them, “Let no one leave of it until the morning.”
20Notwithstanding they didn’t listen to Moses, but some of them left of it until the morning, so it bred worms and became foul; and Moses was angry with them.
21They gathered it morning by morning, everyone according to his eating. When the sun grew hot, it melted.
22On the sixth day, they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for each one; and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses.
23He said to them, “This is that which the LORD has spoken, ‘Tomorrow is a solemn rest, a holy Sabbath to the LORD. Bake that which you want to bake, and boil that which you want to boil; and all that remains over lay up for yourselves to be kept until the morning.’”
24They laid it up until the morning, as Moses ordered, and it didn’t become foul, and there were no worms in it.
25Moses said, “Eat that today, for today is a Sabbath to the LORD. Today you shall not find it in the field.
26Six days you shall gather it, but on the seventh day is the Sabbath. In it there shall be none.”
27On the seventh day, some of the people went out to gather, and they found none.
28The LORD said to Moses, “How long do you refuse to keep my commandments and my laws?
29Behold, because the LORD has given you the Sabbath, therefore he gives you on the sixth day the bread of two days. Everyone stay in his place. Let no one go out of his place on the seventh day.”
30So the people rested on the seventh day.
31The house of Israel called its name “Manna”, and it was like coriander seed, white; and its taste was like wafers with honey.
32Moses said, “This is the thing which the LORD has commanded, ‘Let an omer-full of it be kept throughout your generations, that they may see the bread with which I fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you out of the land of Egypt.’”

34As the LORD commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept.
35The children of Israel ate the manna forty years, until they came to an inhabited land. They ate the manna until they came to the borders of the land of Canaan.
36Now an omer is one tenth of an ephah.
