And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.

Tú le dirás a Aarón todo lo que yo te ordene, y él le hablará al faraón para que deje salir de su país a los hijos de Israel.
Tú dirás todas las cosas que yo te mandaré, y Aarón tu hermano hablará á Faraón, para que deje ir de su tierra á los hijos de Israel.
Thou shalt speak all that I command thee: and Aaron thy brother shall speak unto Pharaoh, that he send the children of Israel out of his land.
You shall speak all that I command you; and Aaron your brother shall speak to Pharaoh, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land.

Moisés y Aarón hicieron todo exactamente como Yahvé se lo había ordenado.

Moisés tenía ochenta años y Aarón ochenta y tres cuando hablaron con el faraón.

“Cuando el faraón les pida que hagan un milagro, tú le dirás a Aarón: ‘Toma tu vara y tírala al piso delante del faraón’, y la vara se convertirá en una serpiente”.
Si Faraón os respondiere diciendo, Mostrad milagro; dirás á Aarón: Toma tu vara, y échala delante de Faraón, para que se torne culebra.
When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, Shew a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent.

Moisés y Aarón se presentaron ante el faraón e hicieron lo que Yahvé les había ordenado. Aarón tiró su vara delante del faraón y de sus funcionarios, y la vara se convirtió en una serpiente.
Vinieron, pues, Moisés y Aarón á Faraón, é hicieron como Jehová lo había mandado: y echó Aarón su vara delante de Faraón y de sus siervos, y tornóse culebra.

A pesar de esto, el faraón se puso terco y no les hizo caso, tal como Yahvé lo había advertido.

And he hardened Pharaoh’s heart, that he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.

Entonces Yahvé le dijo a Moisés: “El faraón está terco de corazón y se niega a dejar ir al pueblo.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Pharaoh’s heart is hardened, he refuseth to let the people go.

Búscalo por la mañana, cuando él baje al río. Espéralo en la orilla y lleva contigo la vara que se convirtió en serpiente.
Ve por la mañana á Faraón, he aquí que él sale á las aguas; y tú ponte á la orilla del río delante de él, y toma en tu mano la vara que se volvió culebra,
Get thee unto Pharaoh in the morning; lo, he goeth out unto the water; and thou shalt stand by the river’s brink against he come; and the rod which was turned to a serpent shalt thou take in thine hand.
Go to Pharaoh in the morning. Behold, he is going out to the water. You shall stand by the river’s bank to meet him. You shall take the rod which was turned to a serpent in your hand.
Y dile: ‘Yahvé, el Dios de los hebreos, me ha enviado para decirte: Deja ir a mi pueblo para que me adore en el desierto. Pero como hasta ahora no has querido obedecer,

Yahvé dice: Con esto sabrás que yo soy Yahvé. Mira, voy a golpear el agua del río con la vara que tengo en la mano, y el agua se convertirá en sangre.
Así ha dicho Jehová: En esto conocerás que yo soy Jehová: he aquí, yo heriré con la vara que tengo en mi mano el agua que está en el río, y se convertirá en sangre:
Thus saith the LORD, In this thou shalt know that I am the LORD: behold, I will smite with the rod that is in mine hand upon the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood.
The LORD says, “In this you shall know that I am the LORD. Behold: I will strike with the rod that is in my hand on the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood.
Los peces del río morirán, el río apestará, y a los egipcios les dará asco beber de su agua’”.
Y los peces que hay en el río morirán, y hederá el río, y tendrán asco los Egipcios de beber el agua del río.
And the fish that is in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the Egyptians shall lothe to drink of the water of the river.
The fish that are in the river will die and the river will become foul. The Egyptians will loathe to drink water from the river.”’”
Yahvé también le dijo a Moisés: “Dile a Aarón: ‘Toma tu vara y extiende tu mano sobre las aguas de Egipto, sobre sus ríos, canales, lagunas y todos sus depósitos de agua, para que se conviertan en sangre. Habrá sangre por todo Egipto, ¡incluso en los recipientes de madera y de piedra!’”
Y Jehová dijo á Moisés: Di á Aarón: Toma tu vara, y extiende tu mano sobre las aguas de Egipto, sobre sus ríos, sobre sus arroyos y sobre sus estanques, y sobre todos sus depósitos de aguas, para que se conviertan en sangre, y haya sangre por toda la región de Egipto, así en los vasos de madera como en los de piedra.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and stretch out thine hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their streams, upon their rivers, and upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, that they may become blood; and that there may be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood, and in vessels of stone.
The LORD said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Take your rod, and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt, over their rivers, over their streams, and over their pools, and over all their ponds of water, that they may become blood. There will be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood and in vessels of stone.’”
Moisés y Aarón hicieron exactamente lo que Yahvé les mandó. A la vista del faraón y de sus funcionarios, Aarón levantó la vara, golpeó el agua del río, ¡y toda el agua se convirtió en sangre!
Y Moisés y Aarón hicieron como Jehová lo mandó; y alzando la vara hirió las aguas que había en el río, en presencia de Faraón y de sus siervos; y todas las aguas que había en el río se convirtieron en sangre.
And Moses and Aaron did so, as the LORD commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.

Los peces del río murieron y el río apestaba tanto que los egipcios no podían beber de él. Había sangre por todo el país de Egipto.
Asimismo los peces que había en el río murieron; y el río se corrompió, que los Egipcios no podían beber de él: y hubo sangre por toda la tierra de Egipto.
And the fish that was in the river died; and the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink of the water of the river; and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt.
The fish that were in the river died. The river became foul. The Egyptians couldn’t drink water from the river. The blood was throughout all the land of Egypt.
Pero los magos egipcios hicieron lo mismo con sus trucos de magia. Así que el faraón siguió terco y no les hizo caso a Moisés y Aarón, tal como Yahvé había dicho.
Y los encantadores de Egipto hicieron lo mismo con sus encantamientos: y el corazón de Faraón se endureció, y no los escuchó; como Jehová lo había dicho.
And the magicians of Egypt did so with their enchantments: and Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, neither did he hearken unto them; as the LORD had said.

El faraón dio media vuelta, regresó a su palacio y no le dio ninguna importancia al asunto.
Y tornando Faraón volvióse á su casa, y no puso su corazón aun en esto.
And Pharaoh turned and went into his house, neither did he set his heart to this also.

Mientras tanto, como los egipcios no podían beber agua del río, tuvieron que cavar pozos a las orillas para conseguir agua.

And all the Egyptians digged round about the river for water to drink; for they could not drink of the water of the river.
