Então alguns líderes de Israel me procuraram em minha casa,
Y VINIERON á mí algunos de los ancianos de Israel, y sentáronse delante de mí.
Then came certain of the elders of Israel unto me, and sat before me.

e esta foi a mensagem que o Senhor mandou entregar a eles:

“Filho do homem, esses homens continuam adorando ídolos lá no fundo de seus corações. Como posso permitir que eles venham me consultar?
Hijo del hombre, estos hombres han puesto sus ídolos en su corazón, y establecido el tropiezo de su maldad delante de su rostro: ¿acaso he de ser yo verdaderamente consultado por ellos?
Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?
“Son of man, these men have taken their idols into their heart, and put the stumbling block of their iniquity before their face. Should I be inquired of at all by them?
Diga-lhes: Assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: Qualquer pessoa em Israel que adorar ídolos em seu coração e procurar a minha ajuda através de um profeta receberá de mim uma resposta bem adequada aos seus muitos pecados de idolatria.
Háblales por tanto, y diles: Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Cualquier hombre de la casa de Israel que hubiere puesto sus ídolos en su corazón, y establecido el tropiezo de su maldad delante de su rostro, y viniere al profeta, yo Jehová responderé al que viniere en la multitud de sus ídolos;
Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet; I the LORD will answer him that cometh according to the multitude of his idols;
Therefore speak to them and tell them, ‘The Lord GOD says: “Every man of the house of Israel who takes his idols into his heart and puts the stumbling block of his iniquity before his face then comes to the prophet, I the LORD will answer him there according to the multitude of his idols,
Farei isto para reconquistar o coração da nação de Israel. Esse será o castigo para quem me deixou de lado para adorar ídolos.
Para tomar á la casa de Israel en su corazón, que se han apartado de mí todos ellos en sus ídolos.
That I may take the house of Israel in their own heart, because they are all estranged from me through their idols.

“Portanto, avise a Israel: Assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: Mudem de vida, abandonem seus ídolos e renunciem a todas as práticas detestáveis!
Por tanto di á la casa de Israel: Así dice el Señor Jehová: Convertíos, y volveos de vuestros ídolos, y apartad vuestro rostro de todas vuestras abominaciones.
Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.
“Therefore tell the house of Israel, ‘The Lord GOD says: “Return, and turn yourselves from your idols! Turn away your faces from all your abominations.
“Qualquer pessoa que se afastar de mim, seja israelita ou estrangeiro que viva entre o povo de Israel, e adorar ídolos em seu coração, será duramente castigada por mim, se vier perguntar a um profeta qual é a minha vontade.
Porque cualquier hombre de la casa de Israel, y de los extranjeros que moran en Israel, que se hubiere apartado de andar en pos de mí, y hubiere puesto sus ídolos en su corazón, y establecido delante de su rostro el tropiezo de su maldad, y viniere al profeta para preguntarle por mí, yo Jehová le responderé por mí mismo:
For every one of the house of Israel, or of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel, which separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to a prophet to enquire of him concerning me; I the LORD will answer him by myself:
“‘“For everyone of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who live in Israel, who separates himself from me and takes his idols into his heart, and puts the stumbling block of his iniquity before his face, and comes to the prophet to inquire for himself of me, I the LORD will answer him by myself.
Eu me voltarei contra essa pessoa; ela será destruída e servirá de sinal e exemplo para todo o povo de Israel. Então vocês saberão que eu sou o Senhor!
Y pondré mi rostro contra aquel hombre, y le pondré por señal y por fábula, y yo lo cortaré de entre mi pueblo; y sabréis que yo soy Jehová.
And I will set my face against that man, and will make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
I will set my face against that man and will make him an astonishment, for a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from among my people. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
“E, se, por acaso, o profeta der uma mensagem a uma dessas pessoas, fiquem sabendo que ele é um falso profeta. Eu o fiz cair na sua própria mentira, e destruirei esse falso profeta do meio do meu povo Israel.
Y el profeta, cuando fuere engañado y hablare palabra, yo Jehová engañé al tal profeta; y extenderé mi mano sobre él, y raeréle de en medio de mi pueblo de Israel.
And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.
“‘“If the prophet is deceived and speaks a word, I, the LORD, have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand on him, and will destroy him from among my people Israel.
O profeta será tão culpado quanto aquele que o consultar; os dois serão castigados.
Y llevarán su maldad: como la maldad del que pregunta, así será la maldad del profeta;
And they shall bear the punishment of their iniquity: the punishment of the prophet shall be even as the punishment of him that seeketh unto him;
They will bear their iniquity. The iniquity of the prophet will be even as the iniquity of him who seeks him,
Assim, o povo de Israel não se desviará mais de mim, nem continuará contaminando a sua vida com todos os seus pecados. Quando isso acontecer, eles serão o meu povo, e eu serei o seu Deus, diz o Soberano, o Senhor”.
Para que no yerren más la casa de Israel de en pos de mí: ni más se contaminen en todas sus rebeliones, y me sean por pueblo, y yo les sea por Dios, dice el Señor Jehová.
That the house of Israel may go no more astray from me, neither be polluted any more with all their transgressions; but that they may be my people, and I may be their God, saith the Lord GOD.

Recebi ainda uma outra mensagem do Senhor:
Y fué á mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

“Filho do homem, se o povo de uma terra pecar contra mim, desobedecendo constantemente à minha Lei, estenderei a minha mão para dar o castigo merecido. A terra não vai produzir comida suficiente, e eu mandarei a fome para destruir homens e animais.
Hijo del hombre, cuando la tierra pecare contra mí rebelándose pérfidamente, y extendiere yo mi mano sobre ella, y le quebrantare el arrimo del pan, y enviare en ella hambre, y talare de ella hombres y bestias;
Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it:
“Son of man, when a land sins against me by committing a trespass, and I stretch out my hand on it, and break the staff of its bread and send famine on it, and cut off from it man and animal—
Mesmo que Noé, Daniel e Jó vivessem naquela terra, com toda a justiça deles, só conseguiriam salvar suas próprias vidas, diz o Soberano, o Senhor.
Si estuvieren en medio de ella estos tres varones, Noé, Daniel, y Job, ellos por su justicia librarán su vida, dice el Señor Jehová.
Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD.

“Se além da fome eu mandasse animais ferozes para atacar e matar muitas pessoas, a ponto de ninguém mais atravessar aquela terra,
Y si hiciere pasar malas bestias por la tierra, y la asolaren, y fuere desolada que no haya quien pase á causa de las bestias,
If I cause noisome beasts to pass through the land, and they spoil it, so that it be desolate, that no man may pass through because of the beasts:
“If I cause evil animals to pass through the land, and they ravage it and it is made desolate, so that no man may pass through because of the animals—
pode ter absoluta certeza de que nem a presença daqueles três homens salvaria o povo. Eles não conseguiriam salvar sequer suas próprias famílias! Só os três escapariam, e a terra seria castigada. Palavra do Soberano, o Senhor.
Y estos tres varones estuvieren en medio de ella, vivo yo, dice el Señor Jehová, ni á sus hijos ni á sus hijas librarán; ellos solos serán libres, y la tierra será asolada.
Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only shall be delivered, but the land shall be desolate.

“Ou, se depois disso eu trouxer soldados inimigos para invadir e destruir completamente aquela terra, matando homens e animais,
O si yo trajere espada sobre la tierra, y dijere: Espada, pasa por la tierra; é hiciere talar de ella hombres y bestias,
Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off man and beast from it:
“Or if I bring a sword on that land, and say, ‘Sword, go through the land, so that I cut off from it man and animal’—
não tenha a menor dúvida de que somente Noé, Jó e Daniel se salvariam. A justiça deles não seria capaz de salvar seus próprios filhos ou filhas! Palavra do Soberano, o Senhor.
Y estos tres varones estuvieren en medio de ella, vivo yo, dice el Señor Jehová, no librarán sus hijos ni sus hijas; ellos solos serán libres.

“Ou então, se eu espalhar naquela terra terríveis doenças para matar homens e animais na minha ira,
O si pestilencia enviare sobre esa tierra, y derramare mi ira sobre ella en sangre, para talar de ella hombres y bestias,
Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast:

mesmo que Noé, Daniel e Jó estivessem lá, eu juro pela minha própria vida que eles não conseguiriam livrar seus filhos e suas filhas. Por sua justiça eles se salvariam a si mesmos! Palavra do Soberano, o Senhor.
Y estuvieren en medio de ella Noé, Daniel, y Job, vivo yo, dice el Señor Jehová, no librarán hijo ni hija; ellos por su justicia librarán su vida.
Though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness.

“E o Soberano, o Senhor, diz: Imagine então, quando eu mandar os meus quatro castigos: a guerra, a fome, os animais ferozes e a doença contra Jerusalém! Todos serão destruídos, tanto homens como animais!
Por lo cual así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: ¿Cuánto más, si mis cuatro malos juicios, espada, y hambre, y mala bestia, y pestilencia, enviare contra Jerusalem, para talar de ella hombres y bestias?
For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?
For the Lord GOD says: “How much more when I send my four severe judgments on Jerusalem—the sword, the famine, the evil animals, and the pestilence—to cut off from it man and animal!
Apenas poucos vão escapar, levando seus filhos e filhas. Virão se encontrar com vocês aqui na Babilônia. Então vocês poderão compreender como eram grandes os pecados daquela gente; verão como foi justo todo o castigo que eu lancei sobre Jerusalém.
Sin embargo, he aquí quedarán en ella algunos residuos, hijos é hijas, que serán llevados fuera: he aquí que ellos entrarán á vosotros, y veréis su camino y sus hechos; y tomaréis consolación del mal que hice venir sobre Jerusalem, de todas las cosas que traje sobre ella.
Yet, behold, therein shall be left a remnant that shall be brought forth, both sons and daughters: behold, they shall come forth unto you, and ye shall see their way and their doings: and ye shall be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought upon it.
Yet, behold, there will be left a remnant in it that will be carried out, both sons and daughters. Behold, they will come out to you, and you will see their way and their doings. Then you will be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought on Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought on it.
Vocês se convencerão ao virem a conduta e as ações deles. Afinal, saberão que não foi sem motivo que eu trouxe todo esse castigo sobre Jerusalém! Palavra do Soberano, o Senhor”.
Y consolaros han cuando viereis su camino y sus hechos, y conoceréis que no sin causa hice todo lo que habré hecho en ella, dice el Señor Jehová.
And they shall comfort you, when ye see their ways and their doings: and ye shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, saith the Lord GOD.
They will comfort you, when you see their way and their doings; then you will know that I have not done all that I have done in it without cause,” says the Lord GOD.
