pour que le royaume fût abaissé et ne se relevât plus, et qu'il gardât son alliance et en assurât la durée.

Para que el reino fuese abatido y no se levantase, sino que guardase su alianza y estuviese en ella.

That the kingdom might be base, that it might not lift itself up, but that by keeping of his covenant it might stand.
