Pero tú dices: ¿Por qué el hijo no es castigado por la maldad del padre? Cuando el hijo haya hecho lo que está ordenado y correcto, y haya cumplido mis reglas y las haya hecho, la vida será ciertamente suya.
Y si dijereis: ¿Por qué el hijo no llevará por el pecado de su padre? Porque el hijo hizo juicio y justicia, guardó todas mis ordenanzas, y las hizo, de cierto vivirá.
Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live.
