Ezequiel 22

1*Et la parole de l’Éternel vint à moi, disant :
2Et toi, fils d’homme, jugeras-tu, jugeras-tu la ville de sang ? et lui feras-tu connaître toutes ses abominations ?
3Tu diras : Ainsi dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel : Ville, qui verses le sang au milieu de toi, afin que ton temps vienne, et qui as fait des idoles chez toi pour te rendre impure,
4tu t’es rendue coupable par ton sang que tu as versé, et tu t’es rendue impure par tes idoles que tu as faites, et tu as fait approcher tes jours, et tu es parvenue à tes années : c’est pourquoi je t’ai livrée à l’opprobre des nations et à la raillerie de tous les pays.
5Ceux qui sont près et ceux qui sont loin de toi se moqueront de toi, qui es impure de renommée, [et] pleine de trouble.
6Voici, les princes d’Israël étaient au-dedans de toi pour verser le sang, chacun selon son pouvoir.
7Ils ont méprisé père et mère au-dedans de toi ; ils ont agi oppressivement envers l’étranger au milieu de toi ; ils ont foulé l’orphelin et la veuve au-dedans de toi.
8Tu as méprisé mes choses saintes, et tu as profané mes sabbats.
9Il y a eu au-dedans de toi des hommes calomniateurs pour verser le sang ; et au-dedans de toi ils ont mangé sur les montagnes ; ils ont commis des infamies au milieu de toi ;
10au-dedans de toi ils ont découvert la nudité d’un père ; au-dedans de toi ils ont humilié la femme séparée à cause de ses mois.
11Et l’un a commis une abomination avec la femme de son prochain, et l’autre a rendu impure sa belle-fille par une infamie, et un autre, au-dedans de toi, a humilié sa sœur, fille de son père.
12Au-dedans de toi, ils ont reçu des présents pour verser le sang ; tu as pris intérêt et usure, et tu as fait par l’extorsion un gain déshonnête aux dépens de ton prochain ; et tu m’as oublié, dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel.
13Et voici, j’ai frappé des mains contre ton gain déshonnête que tu as fait, et contre le sang qui est versé au milieu de toi.
14Ton cœur tiendra-t-il ferme, ou tes mains seront-elles fortes, aux jours où j’agirai contre toi ? Moi, l’Éternel, j’ai parlé, et je le ferai.
15Et je te disperserai parmi les nations, et je te disséminerai dans les pays, et je consumerai du milieu de toi ton impureté.
16Et tu seras profanée par toi-même aux yeux des nations, et tu sauras que je suis l’Éternel.
17Et la parole de l’Éternel vint à moi, disant :
18Fils d’homme, la maison d’Israël est devenue pour moi des scories ; eux tous sont de l’airain, et de l’étain, et du fer, et du plomb, au milieu du fourneau ; ils sont devenus des scories d’argent.
19C’est pourquoi, ainsi dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel : Parce que vous êtes tous devenus des scories, à cause de cela, voici, je vous rassemble au milieu de Jérusalem.
20[Comme] on rassemble l’argent, et l’airain, et le fer, et le plomb, et l’étain, au milieu d’un fourneau, pour souffler le feu dessus afin de les fondre, ainsi je vous rassemblerai dans ma colère et dans ma fureur, et je vous laisserai [là], et je vous fondrai.
21Et je vous assemblerai, et je soufflerai contre vous le feu de mon courroux, et vous serez fondus au milieu de Jérusalem.
22Comme l’argent est fondu au milieu du fourneau, ainsi vous serez fondus au milieu d’elle ; et vous saurez que moi, l’Éternel, j’ai versé ma fureur sur vous.
23Et la parole de l’Éternel vint à moi, disant :
24Fils d’homme, dis-lui : Tu es un pays qui n’est pas purifié, qui n’est pas arrosé de pluie au jour de l’indignation.
25Il y a une conjuration de ses prophètes au milieu d’elle, comme un lion rugissant qui déchire la proie ; ils dévorent les âmes, ils enlèvent les richesses et les choses précieuses ; ils multiplient ses veuves au milieu d’elle.
26Ses sacrificateurs font violence à ma loi et profanent mes choses saintes ; ils ne font pas de différence entre ce qui est saint et ce qui est profane, et ils ne font pas connaître la différence entre ce qui est impur et ce qui est pur ; et ils cachent leurs yeux de mes sabbats, et je suis profané au milieu d’eux.
27Ses princes, au milieu d’elle, sont comme des loups qui déchirent la proie, pour verser le sang, pour détruire les âmes, afin de faire un gain déshonnête.
28Et ses prophètes leur ont fait des enduits de mauvais mortier, ayant des visions de vanité et devinant pour eux le mensonge, disant : Ainsi dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel ; – et l’Éternel n’a point parlé.
29Le peuple du pays pratique l’extorsion et commet la rapine, et foule l’affligé et le pauvre ; et ils oppriment l’étranger contrairement à tout droit.
30Et j’ai cherché parmi eux un homme qui ferme l’enceinte, et qui se tienne à la brèche devant moi pour le pays, afin que je ne le détruise pas ; mais je n’en ai point trouvé.
31Et je verserai sur eux mon indignation ; dans le feu de mon courroux je les consumerai, je ferai retomber leur voie sur leur tête, dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel.

1Y FUÉ á mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:
2Y tú, hijo del hombre, ¿no juzgarás tú, no juzgarás tú á la ciudad derramadora de sangre, y le mostrarás todas sus abominaciones?
3Dirás, pues: Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: ¡Ciudad derramadora de sangre en medio de sí, para que venga su hora, y que hizo ídolos contra sí misma para contaminarse!
4En tu sangre que derramaste has pecado, y te has contaminado en tus ídolos que hiciste; y has hecho acercar tus días, y has llegado á tus años: por tanto te he dado en oprobio á las gentes, y en escarnio á todas las tierras.
5Las que están cerca, y las que están lejos de ti, se reirán de ti, amancillada de fama, y de grande turbación.
6He aquí que los príncipes de Israel, cada uno según su poder, fueron en ti para derramar sangre.
7Al padre y á la madre despreciaron en ti: al extranjero trataron con calumnia en medio de ti: al huérfano y á la viuda despojaron en ti.
8Mis santuarios menospreciaste, y mis sábados has profanado.
9Calumniadores hubo en ti para derramar sangre; y sobre los montes comieron en ti: hicieron en medio de ti suciedades.
10La desnudez del padre descubrieron en ti; la inmunda de menstruo forzaron en ti.
11Y cada uno hizo abominación con la mujer de su prójimo; y cada uno contaminó su nuera torpemente; y cada uno forzó en ti á su hermana, hija de su padre.
12Precio recibieron en ti para derramar sangre; usura y logro tomaste, y á tus prójimos defraudaste con violencia: olvidástete de mí, dice el Señor Jehová.
13Y he aquí, que herí mi mano á causa de tu avaricia que cometiste, y á causa de tus sangres que fueron en medio de ti.
14¿Estará firme tu corazón? ¿tus manos serán fuertes en los días que obraré yo contra ti? Yo Jehová he hablado, y harélo.
15Y yo te esparciré por las gentes, y te aventaré por las tierras; y haré fenecer de ti tu inmundicia.
16Y tomarás heredad en ti á los ojos de las gentes; y sabrás que yo soy Jehová.
17Y fué á mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:
18Hijo del hombre, la casa de Israel se me ha tornado en escoria: todos ellos son metal, y estaño, y hierro, y plomo, en medio del horno; escorias de plata se tornaron.
19Por tanto, así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Por cuanto todos vosotros os habéis tornado en escorias, por tanto, he aquí que yo os junto en medio de Jerusalem.
20Como quien junta plata y metal y hierro y plomo y estaño en medio del horno, para encender fuego en él para fundir; así os juntaré en mi furor y en mi ira, y haré reposar, y os fundiré.
21Yo os juntaré y soplaré sobre vosotros en el fuego de mi furor, y en medio de él seréis fundidos.
22Como se funde la plata en medio del horno, así seréis fundidos en medio de él; y sabréis que yo Jehová habré derramado mi enojo sobre vosotros.
23Y fué á mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:
24Hijo del hombre, di á ella: Tú no eres tierra limpia, ni rociada con lluvia en el día del furor.
25La conjuración de sus profetas en medio de ella, como león bramando que arrebata presa: devoraron almas, tomaron haciendas y honra, aumentaron sus viudas en medio de ella.
26Sus sacerdotes violentaron mi ley, y contaminaron mis santuarios: entre lo santo y lo profano no hicieron diferencia, ni distinguieron entre inmundo y limpio; y de mis sábados escondieron sus ojos, y yo era profanado en medio de ellos.
27Sus príncipes en medio de ella como lobos que arrebataban presa, derramando sangre, para destruir las almas, para pábulo de su avaricia.
28Y sus profetas revocaban con lodo suelto, profetizándoles vanidad, y adivinándoles mentira, diciendo: Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová; y Jehová no había hablado.
29El pueblo de la tierra usaba de opresión, y cometía robo, y al afligido y menesteroso hacían violencia, y al extranjero oprimían sin derecho.
30Y busqué de ellos hombre que hiciese vallado, y que se pusiese al portillo delante de mí por la tierra, para que yo no la destruyese; y no lo hallé.
31Por tanto derramé sobre ellos mi ira; con el fuego de mi ira los consumí: torné el camino de ellos sobre su cabeza, dice el Señor Jehová.
King James Version
1Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
2Now, thou son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? yea, thou shalt shew her all her abominations.
3Then say thou, Thus saith the Lord GOD, The city sheddeth blood in the midst of it, that her time may come, and maketh idols against herself to defile herself.
4Thou art become guilty in thy blood that thou hast shed; and hast defiled thyself in thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art come even unto thy years: therefore have I made thee a reproach unto the heathen, and a mocking to all countries.
5Those that be near, and those that be far from thee, shall mock thee, which art infamous and much vexed.
6Behold, the princes of Israel, every one were in thee to their power to shed blood.
7In thee have they set light by father and mother: in the midst of thee have they dealt by oppression with the stranger: in thee have they vexed the fatherless and the widow.
8Thou hast despised mine holy things, and hast profaned my sabbaths.
9In thee are men that carry tales to shed blood: and in thee they eat upon the mountains: in the midst of thee they commit lewdness.
10In thee have they discovered their fathers’ nakedness: in thee have they humbled her that was set apart for pollution.
11And one hath committed abomination with his neighbour’s wife; and another hath lewdly defiled his daughter in law; and another in thee hath humbled his sister, his father’s daughter.
12In thee have they taken gifts to shed blood; thou hast taken usury and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbours by extortion, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord GOD.
13Behold, therefore I have smitten mine hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at thy blood which hath been in the midst of thee.
14Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I the LORD have spoken it, and will do it.
15And I will scatter thee among the heathen, and disperse thee in the countries, and will consume thy filthiness out of thee.
16And thou shalt take thine inheritance in thyself in the sight of the heathen, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.
17And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
18Son of man, the house of Israel is to me become dross: all they are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are even the dross of silver.
19Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye are all become dross, behold, therefore I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.
20As they gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it; so will I gather you in mine anger and in my fury, and I will leave you there, and melt you.
21Yea, I will gather you, and blow upon you in the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst thereof.
22As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I the LORD have poured out my fury upon you.
23And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
24Son of man, say unto her, Thou art the land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation.
25There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof.
26Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.
27Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain.
28And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken.
29The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully.
30And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
31Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD.

1Moreover the LORD’s word came to me, saying,
2“You, son of man, will you judge? Will you judge the bloody city? Then cause her to know all her abominations.
3You shall say, ‘The Lord GOD says: “A city that sheds blood within herself, that her time may come, and that makes idols against herself to defile her!
4You have become guilty in your blood that you have shed, and are defiled in your idols which you have made! You have caused your days to draw near, and have come to the end of your years. Therefore I have made you a reproach to the nations, and a mocking to all the countries.
5Those who are near and those who are far from you will mock you, you infamous one, full of tumult.
6“‘“Behold, the princes of Israel, everyone according to his power, have been in you to shed blood.
7In you have they treated father and mother with contempt. Among you they have oppressed the foreigner. In you they have wronged the fatherless and the widow.
8You have despised my holy things, and have profaned my Sabbaths.
9Slanderous men have been in you to shed blood. In you they have eaten on the mountains. They have committed lewdness among you.
10In you have they uncovered their fathers’ nakedness. In you have they humbled her who was unclean in her impurity.
11One has committed abomination with his neighbor’s wife, and another has lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law. Another in you has humbled his sister, his father’s daughter.
12In you have they taken bribes to shed blood. You have taken interest and increase, and you have greedily gained of your neighbors by oppression, and have forgotten me,” says the Lord GOD.
13“‘“Behold, therefore I have struck my hand at your dishonest gain which you have made, and at the blood which has been shed within you.
14Can your heart endure, or can your hands be strong, in the days that I will deal with you? I, the LORD, have spoken it, and will do it.
15I will scatter you among the nations, and disperse you through the countries. I will purge your filthiness out of you.
16You will be profaned in yourself in the sight of the nations. Then you will know that I am the LORD.”’”
17The LORD’s word came to me, saying,
18“Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to me. All of them are bronze, tin, iron, and lead in the middle of the furnace. They are the dross of silver.
19Therefore the Lord GOD says: ‘Because you have all become dross, therefore, behold, I will gather you into the middle of Jerusalem.
20As they gather silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin into the middle of the furnace, to blow the fire on it, to melt it, so I will gather you in my anger and in my wrath, and I will lay you there and melt you.
21Yes, I will gather you, and blow on you with the fire of my wrath, and you will be melted in the middle of it.
22As silver is melted in the middle of the furnace, so you will be melted in the middle of it; and you will know that I, the LORD, have poured out my wrath on you.’”
23The LORD’s word came to me, saying,
24“Son of man, tell her, ‘You are a land that is not cleansed nor rained on in the day of indignation.’
25There is a conspiracy of her prophets within it, like a roaring lion ravening the prey. They have devoured souls. They take treasure and precious things. They have made many widows within it.
26Her priests have done violence to my law and have profaned my holy things. They have made no distinction between the holy and the common, neither have they caused men to discern between the unclean and the clean, and have hidden their eyes from my Sabbaths. So I am profaned among them.
27Her princes within it are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood and to destroy souls, that they may get dishonest gain.
28Her prophets have plastered for them with whitewash, seeing false visions, and divining lies to them, saying, ‘The Lord GOD says,’ when the LORD has not spoken.
29The people of the land have used oppression and exercised robbery. Yes, they have troubled the poor and needy, and have oppressed the foreigner wrongfully.
30“I sought for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I would not destroy it; but I found no one.
31Therefore I have poured out my indignation on them. I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath. I have brought their own way on their heads,” says the Lord GOD.
