Son of man, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude; Whom art thou like in thy greatness?
“Son of man, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt and his multitude: ‘Whom are you like in your greatness?
Voici, l’Assyrie était un cèdre du Liban; Ses branches étaient belles, Son feuillage était touffu, sa tige élevée, Et sa cime s’élançait au milieu d’épais rameaux.
He aquí era el Asirio cedro en el Líbano, hermoso en ramas, y umbroso con sus ramos, y de grande altura, y su copa estaba entre densas ramas.

Les eaux l’avaient fait croître, L’abîme l’avait fait pousser en hauteur; Des fleuves coulaient autour du lieu où il était planté, Et envoyaient leurs canaux à tous les arbres des champs.
Las aguas lo hicieron crecer, encumbrólo el abismo: sus ríos iban alrededor de su pie, y á todos los árboles del campo enviaba sus corrientes.
The waters made him great, the deep set him up on high with her rivers running round about his plants, and sent out her little rivers unto all the trees of the field.
The waters nourished it. The deep made it to grow. Its rivers ran all around its plantation. It sent out its channels to all the trees of the field.
C’est pourquoi sa tige s’élevait au-dessus de tous les arbres des champs, Ses branches avaient multiplié, ses rameaux s’étendaient, Par l’abondance des eaux qui l’avaient fait pousser.
Por tanto, se encumbró su altura sobre todos los árboles del campo, y multiplicáronse sus ramos, y á causa de las muchas aguas se alargaron sus ramas que había echado.

En sus ramas hacían nido todas las aves del cielo, y debajo de su ramaje parían todas las bestias del campo, y á su sombra habitaban muchas gentes.
All the fowls of heaven made their nests in his boughs, and under his branches did all the beasts of the field bring forth their young, and under his shadow dwelt all great nations.
All the birds of the sky made their nests in its boughs. Under its branches, all the animals of the field gave birth to their young. All great nations lived under its shadow.
Il était beau par sa grandeur, par l’étendue de ses branches, Car ses racines plongeaient dans des eaux abondantes.
Hízose, pues, hermoso en su grandeza con la extensión de sus ramas; porque su raíz estaba junto á muchas aguas.

The cedars in the garden of God could not hide him: the fir trees were not like his boughs, and the chesnut trees were not like his branches; nor any tree in the garden of God was like unto him in his beauty.

Je l’avais embelli par la multitude de ses branches, Et tous les arbres d’Éden, dans le jardin de Dieu, lui portaient envie.

Je l’ai livré entre les mains du héros des nations, Qui le traitera selon sa méchanceté; je l’ai chassé.
Yo lo entregaré en mano del fuerte de las gentes, que de cierto le manejará: por su impiedad lo he arrojado.

Des étrangers, les plus violents des peuples, l’ont abattu et rejeté; Ses branches sont tombées dans les montagnes et dans toutes les vallées. Ses rameaux se sont brisés dans tous les ravins du pays; Et tous les peuples de la terre se sont retirés de son ombre, Et l’ont abandonné.
Y le cortarán extraños, los fuertes de las gentes, y lo abandonarán: sus ramas caerán sobre los montes y por todos los valles, y por todas las arroyadas de la tierra serán quebrados sus ramos; é iránse de su sombra todos los pueblos de la tierra, y lo dejarán.
And strangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him: upon the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken by all the rivers of the land; and all the people of the earth are gone down from his shadow, and have left him.

Sur ses débris sont venus se poser tous les oiseaux du ciel, Et toutes les bêtes des champs ont fait leur gîte parmi ses rameaux,
Sobre su ruina habitarán todas las aves del cielo, y sobre su ramas estarán todas las bestias del campo:
Upon his ruin shall all the fowls of the heaven remain, and all the beasts of the field shall be upon his branches:
All the birds of the sky will dwell on his ruin, and all the animals of the field will be on his branches,
Afin que tous les arbres près des eaux n’élèvent plus leur tige, Et qu’ils ne lancent plus leur cime au milieu d’épais rameaux, Afin que tous les chênes arrosés d’eau ne gardent plus leur hauteur; Car tous sont livrés à la mort, aux profondeurs de la terre, Parmi les enfants des hommes, Avec ceux qui descendent dans la fosse.
Para que no se eleven en su altura los árboles todos de las aguas, ni levanten su cumbre entre las espesuras, ni en sus ramas se paren por su altura todos los que beben aguas: porque todos serán entregados á muerte, á la tierra baja, en medio de los hijos de los hombres, con los que descienden á la huesa.
To the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves for their height, neither shoot up their top among the thick boughs, neither their trees stand up in their height, all that drink water: for they are all delivered unto death, to the nether parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.

Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel: Le jour où il est descendu dans le séjour des morts, J’ai répandu le deuil, j’ai couvert l’abîme à cause de lui, Et j’en ai retenu les fleuves; Les grandes eaux ont été arrêtées; J’ai rendu le Liban triste à cause de lui, Et tous les arbres des champs ont été desséchés.
Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: El día que descendió á la sepultura, hice hacer luto, hice cubrir por él el abismo, y detuve sus ríos, y las muchas aguas fueron detenidas: y al Líbano cubrí de tinieblas por él, y todos los árboles del campo se desmayaron.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day when he went down to the grave I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained the floods thereof, and the great waters were stayed: and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him.

Par le bruit de sa chute j’ai fait trembler les nations, Quand je l’ai précipité dans le séjour des morts, Avec ceux qui descendent dans la fosse; Tous les arbres d’Éden ont été consolés dans les profondeurs de la terre, Les plus beaux et les meilleurs du Liban, Tous arrosés par les eaux.
Del estruendo de su caída hice temblar las gentes, cuando les hice descender á la fosa con todos los que descienden á la sepultura; y todos los árboles de Edén escogidos, y los mejores del Líbano, todos los que beben aguas, tomaron consolación en la tierra baja.
I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to hell with them that descend into the pit: and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, shall be comforted in the nether parts of the earth.

Eux aussi sont descendus avec lui dans le séjour des morts, Vers ceux qui ont péri par l’épée; Ils étaient son bras et ils habitaient à son ombre parmi les nations.
También ellos descendieron con él á la fosa, con los muertos á cuchillo, los que fueron su brazo, los que estuvieron á su sombra en medio de las gentes.
They also went down into hell with him unto them that be slain with the sword; and they that were his arm, that dwelt under his shadow in the midst of the heathen.
They also went down into Sheol with him to those who are slain by the sword; yes, those who were his arm, who lived under his shadow in the middle of the nations.
A qui ressembles-tu ainsi en gloire et en grandeur Parmi les arbres d’Éden? Tu seras précipité avec les arbres d’Éden Dans les profondeurs de la terre, Tu seras couché au milieu des incirconcis, Avec ceux qui ont péri par l’épée. Voilà Pharaon et toute sa multitude! Dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel.
¿A quién te has comparado así en gloria y en grandeza entre los árboles de Edén? Pues derribado serás con los árboles de Edén en la tierra baja: entre los incircuncisos yacerás, con los muertos á cuchillo. Este es Faraón y todo su pueblo, dice el Señor Jehová.
To whom art thou thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yet shalt thou be brought down with the trees of Eden unto the nether parts of the earth: thou shalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord GOD.
“‘To whom are you thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? Yet you will be brought down with the trees of Eden to the lower parts of the earth. You will lie in the middle of the uncircumcised, with those who are slain by the sword. “‘This is Pharaoh and all his multitude,’ says the Lord GOD.”
