1A palavra do SENHOR veio a mim, dizendo:
2“Filho do homem, fale aos filhos do seu povo, e diga-lhes: ‘Quando eu trouxer a espada sobre uma terra, e o povo da terra tomar um homem dentre eles, e o colocar como sua atalaia,
3se, quando ele vir a espada vindo sobre a terra, ele tocar a trombeta e avisar o povo,
4então todo aquele que ouvir o som da trombeta e não der atenção ao aviso, se a espada vier e o levar, o seu sangue estará sobre a sua própria cabeça.
5Ele ouviu o som da trombeta e não deu atenção ao aviso. O seu sangue estará sobre ele; mas, se ele tivesse dado atenção ao aviso, teria livrado a sua alma.
6Mas se a atalaia vir a espada vindo e não tocar a trombeta, e o povo não for avisado, e a espada vier e levar qualquer pessoa dentre eles, este é levado na sua iniquidade, mas o seu sangue eu cobrarei da mão da atalaia.’
7“Portanto, você, filho do homem, eu o coloquei como atalaia para a casa de Israel. Portanto, ouça a palavra da minha boca, e dê-lhes avisos da minha parte.
8Quando eu disser ao ímpio: ‘Ó ímpio, você certamente morrerá’, e você não falar para avisar o ímpio do seu caminho, aquele ímpio morrerá na sua iniquidade, mas o seu sangue eu cobrarei da sua mão.
9No entanto, se você avisar o ímpio do seu caminho para que se desvie dele, e ele não se desviar do seu caminho; ele morrerá na sua iniquidade, mas você terá livrado a sua alma.
10“Você, filho do homem, diga à casa de Israel: ‘Vocês dizem isto: “Nossas transgressões e nossos pecados estão sobre nós, e nós definhamos neles. Como então podemos viver?”’
11Diga-lhes: ‘“Tão certo como eu vivo”, diz o Senhor DEUS, “não tenho prazer na morte do ímpio, mas sim em que o ímpio se desvie do seu caminho e viva. Desviem-se, desviem-se dos seus maus caminhos! Pois, por que vocês morreriam, ó casa de Israel?”’
12“Você, filho do homem, diga aos filhos do seu povo: ‘A justiça do justo não o livrará no dia da sua desobediência. E quanto à impiedade do ímpio, ele não cairá por causa dela no dia em que se desviar da sua impiedade; nem o que é justo poderá viver pela sua justiça no dia em que pecar.
13Quando eu disser ao justo que ele certamente viverá, se ele confiar na sua justiça e cometer iniquidade, nenhum dos seus atos de justiça será lembrado; mas ele morrerá na sua iniquidade que cometeu.
14Novamente, quando eu disser ao ímpio: “Você certamente morrerá”, se ele se desviar do seu pecado e fizer o que é lícito e justo,
15se o ímpio restituir o penhor, devolver o que havia tomado por roubo, andar nos estatutos da vida, não cometendo iniquidade, ele certamente viverá. Ele não morrerá.
16Nenhum dos seus pecados que cometeu será lembrado contra ele. Ele fez o que é lícito e justo. Ele certamente viverá.
17“‘Ainda assim, os filhos do seu povo dizem: “O caminho do Senhor não é justo”; mas quanto a eles, o caminho deles é que não é justo.
18Quando o justo se desviar da sua justiça e cometer iniquidade, ele morrerá nela.
19Quando o ímpio se desviar da sua impiedade e fizer o que é lícito e justo, ele viverá por isso.
20Contudo, vocês dizem: “O caminho do Senhor não é justo.” Ó casa de Israel, eu julgarei cada um de vocês segundo os seus caminhos.’”
21No décimo segundo ano do nosso cativeiro, no décimo mês, no quinto dia do mês, um que havia escapado de Jerusalém veio a mim, dizendo: “A cidade foi derrotada!”
22Ora, a mão do SENHOR esteve sobre mim à tarde, antes que viesse aquele que havia escapado; e ele havia aberto a minha boca até que ele veio a mim pela manhã; e a minha boca se abriu, e eu não estava mais mudo.
23A palavra do SENHOR veio a mim, dizendo:
24“Filho do homem, aqueles que habitam os lugares desertos na terra de Israel falam, dizendo: ‘Abraão era um só, e ele herdou a terra; mas nós somos muitos. A terra nos é dada por herança.’
25Portanto, diga-lhes: ‘Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: “Vocês comem carne com o sangue, e levantam os seus olhos para os seus ídolos, e derramam sangue. Então vocês deveriam possuir a terra?
26Vocês se apoiam na sua espada, cometem abominação, e cada um de vocês contamina a mulher do seu próximo. Então vocês deveriam possuir a terra?”’
27“Você lhes dirá: ‘Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: “Tão certo como eu vivo, certamente aqueles que estão nos lugares desertos cairão à espada. Eu darei quem estiver em campo aberto aos animais para ser devorado, e aqueles que estão nas fortalezas e nas cavernas morrerão de peste.
28Eu farei da terra uma desolação e um espanto. O orgulho do seu poder cessará. Os montes de Israel ficarão desolados, de modo que ninguém passará por eles.
29Então eles saberão que eu sou o SENHOR, quando eu tiver feito da terra uma desolação e um espanto por causa de todas as suas abominações que cometeram.”’
30“Quanto a você, filho do homem, os filhos do seu povo falam de você junto aos muros e nas portas das casas, e falam uns com os outros, cada um com o seu irmão, dizendo: ‘Por favor, venham e ouçam qual é a palavra que procede do SENHOR.’
31Eles vêm a você como o povo vem, e se assentam diante de você como o meu povo, e ouvem as suas palavras, mas não as praticam; pois com a boca demonstram muito amor, mas o coração deles vai atrás do seu próprio lucro.
32Eis que você é para eles como uma canção muito bela de quem tem uma voz agradável, e sabe tocar bem um instrumento; pois eles ouvem as suas palavras, mas não as praticam.
33“Quando isso acontecer — eis que está chegando — então eles saberão que houve um profeta no meio deles.”

1Y FUÉ á mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:
2Hijo del hombre, habla á los hijos de tu pueblo, y diles: Cuando trajere yo espada sobre la tierra, y el pueblo de la tierra tomare un hombre de sus términos, y se lo pusiere por atalaya,
3Y él viere venir la espada sobre la tierra, y tocare corneta, y avisare al pueblo;
4Cualquiera que oyere el sonido de la corneta, y no se apercibiere, y viniendo la espada lo tomare, su sangre será sobre su cabeza.
5El sonido de la corneta oyó, y no se apercibió; su sangre será sobre él: mas el que se apercibiere, librará su vida.
6Pero si el atalaya viere venir la espada, y no tocare la corneta, y el pueblo no se apercibiere, y viniendo la espada, tomare de él alguno; él por causa de su pecado fué tomado, mas demandaré su sangre de mano del atalaya.
7Tú pues, hijo del hombre, yo te he puesto por atalaya á la casa de Israel, y oirás la palabra de mi boca, y los apercibirás de mi parte.
8Diciendo yo al impío: Impío, de cierto morirás; si tú no hablares para que se guarde el impío de su camino, el impío morirá por su pecado, mas su sangre yo la demandaré de tu mano.
9Y si tú avisares al impío de su camino para que de él se aparte, y él no se apartare de su camino, por su pecado morirá él, y tú libraste tu vida.
10Tú pues, hijo del hombre, di á la casa de Israel: Vosotros habéis hablado así, diciendo: Nuestras rebeliones y nuestros pecados están sobre nosotros, y á causa de ellos somos consumidos: ¿cómo pues viviremos?
11Diles: Vivo yo, dice el Señor Jehová, que no quiero la muerte del impío, sino que se torne el impío de su camino, y que viva. Volveos, volveos de vuestros malos caminos: ¿y por qué moriréis, oh casa de Israel?
12Y tú, hijo del hombre, di á los hijos de tu pueblo: La justicia del justo no lo librará el día que se rebelare; y la impiedad del impío no le será estorbo el día que se volviere de su impiedad; y el justo no podrá vivir por su justicia el día que pecare.
13Diciendo yo al justo, De cierto vivirá, y él confiado en su justicia hiciere iniquidad, todas sus justicias no vendrán en memoria, sino que morirá por su iniquidad que hizo.
14Y diciendo yo al impío: De cierto morirás; si él se volviere de su pecado, é hiciere juicio y justicia,
15Si el impío restituyere la prenda, devolviere lo que hubiere robado, caminare en las ordenanzas de la vida, no haciendo iniquidad, vivirá ciertamente y no morirá.
16No se le recordará ninguno de sus pecados que había cometido: hizo juicio y justicia; vivirá ciertamente.
17Luego dirán los hijos de tu pueblo: No es recta la vía del Señor: la vía de ellos es la que no es recta.
18Cuando el justo se apartare de su justicia, é hiciere iniquidad, morirá por ello.
19Y cuando el impío se apartare de su impiedad, é hiciere juicio y justicia, vivirá por ello.
20Y dijisteis: No es recta la vía del Señor. Yo os juzgaré, oh casa de Israel, á cada uno conforme á sus caminos.
21Y aconteció en el año duodécimo de nuestro cautiverio, en el mes décimo, á los cinco del mes, que vino á mí un escapado de Jerusalem, diciendo: La ciudad ha sido herida.
22Y la mano de Jehová había sido sobre mí la tarde antes que el escapado viniese, y había abierto mi boca, hasta que vino á mí por la mañana; y abrió mi boca, y no más estuve callado.
23Y fué á mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:
24Hijo del hombre, los que habitan aquellos desiertos en la tierra de Israel, hablando dicen: Abraham era uno, y poseyó la tierra: pues nosotros somos muchos; á nosotros es dada la tierra en posesión.
25Por tanto, diles: Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: ¿Con sangre comeréis, y á vuestros ídolos alzaréis vuestros ojos, y sangre derramaréis, y poseeréis vosotros la tierra?
26Estuvisteis sobre vuestras espadas, hicisteis abominación, y contaminasteis cada cual la mujer de su prójimo: ¿y habréis de poseer la tierra?
27Les dirás así: Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Vivo yo, que los que están en aquellos asolamientos caerán á cuchillo, y al que está sobre la haz del campo entregaré á las bestias que lo devoren; y los que están en las fortalezas y en las cuevas, de pestilencia morirán.
28Y pondré la tierra en desierto y en soledad, y cesará la soberbia de su fortaleza; y los montes de Israel serán asolados, que no haya quien pase.
29Y sabrán que yo soy Jehová, cuando pusiere la tierra en soledad y desierto, por todas las abominaciones que han hecho.
30Y tú, hijo del hombre, los hijos de tu pueblo se mofan de ti junto á las paredes y á las puertas de las casas, y habla el uno con el otro, cada uno con su hermano, diciendo: Venid ahora, y oid qué palabra sale de Jehová.
31Y vendrán á ti como viene el pueblo, y se estarán delante de ti como mi pueblo, y oirán tus palabras, y no las pondrán por obra: antes hacen halagos con sus bocas, y el corazón de ellos anda en pos de su avaricia.
32Y he aquí que tú eres á ellos como cantor de amores, gracioso de voz y que canta bien: y oirán tus palabras, mas no las pondrán por obra.
33Empero cuando ello viniere (he aquí viene) sabrán que hubo profeta entre ellos.

1Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
2Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:
3If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;
4Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.
5He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.
6But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.
7So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.
8When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
9Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
10Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?
11Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
12Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.
13When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.
14Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;
15If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.
16None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.
17Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.
18When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby.
19But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.
20Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways.
21And it came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that one that had escaped out of Jerusalem came unto me, saying, The city is smitten.
22Now the hand of the LORD was upon me in the evening, afore he that was escaped came; and had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no more dumb.
23Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
24Son of man, they that inhabit those wastes of the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance.
25Wherefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Ye eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood: and shall ye possess the land?
26Ye stand upon your sword, ye work abomination, and ye defile every one his neighbour’s wife: and shall ye possess the land?
27Say thou thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; As I live, surely they that are in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the beasts to be devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.
28For I will lay the land most desolate, and the pomp of her strength shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, that none shall pass through.
29Then shall they know that I am the LORD, when I have laid the land most desolate because of all their abominations which they have committed.
30Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the LORD.
31And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.
32And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.
33And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.

1The LORD’s word came to me, saying,
2“Son of man, speak to the children of your people, and tell them, ‘When I bring the sword on a land, and the people of the land take a man from among them, and set him for their watchman,
3if, when he sees the sword come on the land, he blows the trumpet and warns the people,
4then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet and doesn’t heed the warning, if the sword comes and takes him away, his blood will be on his own head.
5He heard the sound of the trumpet and didn’t take warning. His blood will be on him; whereas if he had heeded the warning, he would have delivered his soul.
6But if the watchman sees the sword come and doesn’t blow the trumpet, and the people aren’t warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.’
7“So you, son of man, I have set you a watchman to the house of Israel. Therefore hear the word from my mouth, and give them warnings from me.
8When I tell the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you will surely die,’ and you don’t speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man will die in his iniquity, but I will require his blood at your hand.
9Nevertheless, if you warn the wicked of his way to turn from it, and he doesn’t turn from his way; he will die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your soul.
10“You, son of man, tell the house of Israel: ‘You say this, “Our transgressions and our sins are on us, and we pine away in them. How then can we live?”’
11Tell them, ‘“As I live,” says the Lord GOD, “I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why will you die, house of Israel?”’
12“You, son of man, tell the children of your people, ‘The righteousness of the righteous will not deliver him in the day of his disobedience. And as for the wickedness of the wicked, he will not fall by it in the day that he turns from his wickedness; neither will he who is righteous be able to live by it in the day that he sins.
13When I tell the righteous that he will surely live, if he trusts in his righteousness and commits iniquity, none of his righteous deeds will be remembered; but he will die in his iniquity that he has committed.
14Again, when I say to the wicked, “You will surely die,” if he turns from his sin and does that which is lawful and right,

21In the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, one who had escaped out of Jerusalem came to me, saying, “The city has been defeated!”
22Now the LORD’s hand had been on me in the evening, before he who had escaped came; and he had opened my mouth until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no longer mute.
23The LORD’s word came to me, saying,
24“Son of man, those who inhabit the waste places in the land of Israel speak, saying, ‘Abraham was one, and he inherited the land; but we are many. The land is given us for inheritance.’
25Therefore tell them, ‘The Lord GOD says: “You eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes to your idols, and shed blood. So should you possess the land?
26You stand on your sword, you work abomination, and every one of you defiles his neighbor’s wife. So should you possess the land?”’
27“You shall tell them, ‘The Lord GOD says: “As I live, surely those who are in the waste places will fall by the sword. I will give whoever is in the open field to the animals to be devoured, and those who are in the strongholds and in the caves will die of the pestilence.
28I will make the land a desolation and an astonishment. The pride of her power will cease. The mountains of Israel will be desolate, so that no one will pass through.
29Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I have made the land a desolation and an astonishment because of all their abominations which they have committed.”’
30“As for you, son of man, the children of your people talk about you by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak to one another, everyone to his brother, saying, ‘Please come and hear what the word is that comes out from the LORD.’
31They come to you as the people come, and they sit before you as my people, and they hear your words, but don’t do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goes after their gain.
32Behold, you are to them as a very lovely song of one who has a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument; for they hear your words, but they don’t do them.
33“When this comes to pass—behold, it comes—then they will know that a prophet has been among them.”
