Luego el Señor gritó con fuerza: «¡Llama a aquellos a quienes yo he entregado la ciudad para que la conquisten! ¡Diles que traigan sus armas consigo!».
Y CLAMÓ en mis oídos con gran voz, diciendo: Los visitadores de la ciudad han llegado, y cada uno trae en su mano su instrumento para destruir.
He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.
Then he cried in my ears with a loud voice, saying, “Cause those who are in charge of the city to draw near, each man with his destroying weapon in his hand.”
Ante su llamado aparecieron seis hombres procediendo de la puerta superior del norte, cada uno portando sus armas, listos para castigar. Uno de ellos estaba vestido de lino y llevaba un tintero de escribano ceñido al costado. Todos entraron al templo y se pararon a un lado del altar de bronce.
Y he aquí que seis varones venían del camino de la puerta de arriba que está vuelta al aquilón, y cada uno traía en su mano su instrumento para destruir. Y entre ellos había un varón vestido de lienzos, el cual traía á su cintura una escribanía de escribano; y entrados, paráronse junto al altar de bronce.
And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer’s inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar.

Y la magnífica presencia del Dios de Israel se alzó del querubín donde había estado reposada y se puso sobre la entrada al templo. Entonces el Señor llamó al hombre con el tintero de escribano,
Y la gloria del Dios de Israel se alzó de sobre el querubín sobre el cual había estado, al umbral de la casa: y llamó Jehová al varón vestido de lienzos, que tenía á su cintura la escribanía de escribano.
And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer’s inkhorn by his side;

y le dijo: «Camina por las calles de Jerusalén y pon una marca sobre la frente de los hombres que lloran y suspiran a causa de todas las maldades que ven a su alrededor».
Y díjole Jehová: Pasa por medio de la ciudad, por medio de Jerusalem, y pon una señal en la frente á los hombres que gimen y que claman á causa de todas las abominaciones que se hacen en medio de ella.
And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.
The LORD said to him, “Go through the middle of the city, through the middle of Jerusalem, and set a mark on the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry over all the abominations that are done within it.”
Luego oí al Señor decir a los otros hombres: «Síganlo a través de la ciudad y maten a todos aquellos cuya frente no está marcada. No les perdonen ni se apiaden de ellos,
Y á los otros dijo á mis oídos: Pasad por la ciudad en pos de él, y herid; no perdone vuestro ojo, ni tengáis misericordia.
And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:

mátenlos a todos: viejos y jóvenes, muchachas, mujeres y niños pequeños; pero no toquen a nadie que tenga la marca en la frente. Comiencen aquí mismo en el templo». Y así comenzaron por dar muerte a los sabios consejeros.
Matad viejos, mozos y vírgenes, niños y mujeres, hasta que no quede ninguno: mas á todo aquel sobre el cual hubiere señal, no llegaréis; y habéis de comenzar desde mi santuario. Comenzaron pues desde los varones ancianos que estaban delante del templo.
Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.
Kill utterly the old man, the young man, the virgin, little children and women; but don’t come near any man on whom is the mark. Begin at my sanctuary.” Then they began at the old men who were before the house.
Y luego el Señor les dijo: «¡Profanen el templo! ¡Llenen sus atrios con los cuerpos de aquellos que matan! ¡Salgan a matar!». Y ellos salieron por la ciudad e hicieron según les fue ordenado.
Y díjoles: Contaminad la casa, y henchid los atrios de muertos: salid. Y salieron, é hirieron en la ciudad.
And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.

Mientras ellos estaban cumpliendo sus órdenes, yo estaba solo. Me postré rostro en tierra y exclamé: «¡Oh Señor Dios!, ¿tu furia contra Jerusalén exterminará a todos los que quedan?».
Y aconteció que, habiéndolos herido, yo quedé y postréme sobre mi rostro, y clamé, y dije: ¡Ah, Señor Jehová! ¿has de destruir todo el resto de Israel derramando tu furor sobre Jerusalem?
And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem?
While they were killing, and I was left, I fell on my face, and cried, and said, “Ah Lord GOD! Will you destroy all the residue of Israel in your pouring out of your wrath on Jerusalem?”
Entonces el Señor me dijo: «Las maldades del pueblo de Israel y Judá son muy graves y toda la tierra está por su culpa llena de muerte e injusticia, pues ellos dicen: “¡El Señor no nos ve! ¡Se ha alejado de este país!”.
Y díjome: La maldad de la casa de Israel y de Judá es grande sobremanera, pues la tierra está llena de sangres, y la ciudad está llena de perversidad: porque han dicho: Dejado ha Jehová la tierra, y Jehová no ve.
Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not.
Then he said to me, “The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perversion; for they say, ‘The LORD has forsaken the land, and the LORD doesn’t see.’
Y por eso no los perdonaré, ni tendré piedad de ellos, y les pagaré en pleno por todo lo que han hecho».
Así pues, yo, mi ojo no perdonará, ni tendré misericordia: el camino de ellos tornaré sobre su cabeza.
And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head.
As for me also, my eye won’t spare, neither will I have pity, but I will bring their way on their head.”
Justo en ese momento el hombre vestido de lino que llevaba el tintero de escribano vino a dar su informe diciendo: «He terminado la tarea que me encomendaste».
Y he aquí que el varón vestido de lienzos, que tenía la escribanía á su cintura, respondió una palabra diciendo: Hecho he conforme á todo lo que me mandaste.
And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.
