Esdras 10

ORA, mentre Esdra faceva orazione, e confessione, piangendo, e prostrato davanti alla Casa di Dio, una grandissima moltitudine d'Israele, d'uomini, e di donne, e di fanciulli, si adunò appresso di lui; perciocchè il popolo piangeva d'un gran pianto.

Y ORANDO Esdras y confesando, llorando y postrándose delante de la casa de Dios, juntóse á él una muy grande multitud de Israel, hombres y mujeres y niños; y lloraba el pueblo con gran llanto.

Now when Ezra had prayed, and when he had confessed, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there assembled unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept very sore.

Allora Secania, figliuolo di Iehiel, dei figliuoli di Elam, parlò ad Esdra, e gli disse: Noi abbiam misfatto contro all'Iddio nostro, avendo menate donne straniere, d'infra i popoli di questo paese; ma ora vi è pure alcuna speranza ad Israele intorno a questo.

Entonces respondió Sechânías hijo de Jehiel, de los hijos de Elam, y dijo á Esdras: Nosotros hemos prevaricado contra nuestro Dios, pues tomamos mujeres extranjeras de los pueblos de la tierra: mas hay aún esperanza para Israel sobre esto.

And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing.

Ora dunque, patteggiamo con l'Iddio nostro, che noi rimanderemo tutte queste donne, ed i figliuoli nati da esse, secondo il consiglio del Signore, e di coloro che tremano al comandamento dell'Iddio nostro; e siane fatto secondo la Legge.

Ahora pues hagamos pacto con nuestro Dios, que echaremos todas las mujeres y los nacidos de ellas, según el consejo del Señor, y de los que temen el mandamiento de nuestro Dios: y hágase conforme á la ley.

Levati; perciocchè quest'affare ti appartiene, e noi saremo teco; prendi animo, e metti la mano all'opera.

Arise; for this matter belongeth unto thee: we also will be with thee: be of good courage, and do it.

Allora Esdra si levò, e fece giurare a' principali de' sacerdoti, de' Leviti, e di tutto Israele, che farebbero secondo quelle parole. Ed essi lo giurarono.

Entonces se levantó Esdras, y juramentó á los príncipes de los sacerdotes y de los Levitas, y á todo Israel, que harían conforme á esto; y ellos juraron.

Poi Esdra si levò d'innanzi alla Casa di Dio, e andò nella camera di Giohanan, figliuolo di Eliasib; ed essendo entrato dentro, non mangiò pane, nè bevve acqua; perciocchè egli faceva cordoglio per lo misfatto di coloro ch'erano stati in cattività.

Levantóse luego Esdras de delante la casa de Dios, y fuése á la cámara de Johanán hijo de Eliasib: é ido allá, no comió pan ni bebió agua, porque se entristeció sobre la prevaricación de los de la transmigración.

Then Ezra rose up from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Johanan the son of Eliashib: and when he came thither, he did eat no bread, nor drink water: for he mourned because of the transgression of them that had been carried away.

Poi fecero andare un bando per Giuda e per Gerusalemme, che tutti quelli ch'erano stati in cattività si adunassero in Gerusalemme;

e che chiunque non verrebbe infra tre giorni, secondo il consiglio preso da' principali e dagli Anziani, tutti i suoi beni sarebbero messi all'interdetto, ed egli sarebbe separato dalla raunanza di coloro ch'erano stati in cattività.

Y que el que no viniera dentro de tres días, conforme al acuerdo de los príncipes y de los ancianos, perdiese toda su hacienda, y él fuese apartado de la compañía de los de la transmigración.

Così tutti gli uomini di Giuda e di Beniamino si adunarono in Gerusalemme infra il terzo giorno; e ciò fu il ventesimo giorno del nono mese; e tutto il popolo si fermò nella piazza della Casa di Dio, tremando, per questa cosa, e per le gran pioggie.

Ed il sacerdote Esdra si levò e disse loro: Voi avete misfatto, avendo menate mogli straniere, per accrescer le colpe d'Israele.

Y levantóse Esdras el sacerdote, y díjoles: Vosotros habéis prevaricado, por cuanto tomasteis mujeres extrañas, añadiendo así sobre el pecado de Israel.

And Ezra the priest stood up, and said unto them, Ye have transgressed, and have taken strange wives, to increase the trespass of Israel.

E tutta la raunanza rispose, e disse ad alta voce: Noi siamo obbligati di fare come tu hai detto.

Y respondió todo aquel concurso, y dijeron en alta voz: Así se haga conforme á tu palabra.

Then all the congregation answered and said with a loud voice, As thou hast said, so must we do.

Ma il popolo è in gran numero, e il tempo è grandemente piovoso, e non è possibile di star fuori; e l'opera non è d'uno, nè di due giorni; perciocchè noi siamo molti che abbiamo misfatto in questo.

Mas el pueblo es mucho, y el tiempo lluvioso, y no hay fuerza para estar en la calle: ni la obra es de un día ni de dos, porque somos muchos los que hemos prevaricado en este negocio.

Ora trovinsi insieme i capi nostri, capi di tutta la raunanza; e con loro sieno gli Anziani, ed i giudici di ciascuna città; e che ogni uomo, d'infra tutti quelli che sono nelle nostre città, che ha menata moglie straniera, venga a' tempi assegnati; e con loro gli Anziani e i giudici di ciascuna città, finchè abbiamo stornato da noi l'ardore dell'ira dell'Iddio nostro per questa cosa.

Estén ahora nuestros príncipes, los de toda la congregación; y todos aquellos que en nuestras ciudades hubieren tomado mujeres extranjeras, vengan á tiempos aplazados, y con ellos los ancianos de cada ciudad, y los jueces de ellas, hasta que apartemos de nosotros el furor de la ira de nuestro Dios sobre esto.

Let now our rulers of all the congregation stand, and let all them which have taken strange wives in our cities come at appointed times, and with them the elders of every city, and the judges thereof, until the fierce wrath of our God for this matter be turned from us.

Now let our princes be appointed for all the assembly, and let all those who are in our cities who have married foreign women come at appointed times, and with them the elders of every city and its judges, until the fierce wrath of our God is turned from us, until this matter is resolved.”

Or Gionatan, figliuolo di Asael, e Iahazia, figliuolo di Ticva, furono costituiti sopra questo affare; e Mesullam, e Sabbetai, Leviti, aiutarono loro.

Fueron pues puestos sobre este negocio Jonathán hijo de Asael, y Jaazías hijo de Tikvah; y Mesullam y Sabethai, Levitas, les ayudaron.

E quelli ch'erano stati in cattività fecero così. E il sacerdote Esdra, e i capi delle famiglie paterne, secondo le famiglie loro paterne, tutti nominati per li nomi loro, furono messi da parte; e sedettero al primo giorno del decimo mese, per prender conoscenza del fatto;

E hicieron así los hijos de la transmigración. Y apartados que fueron luego Esdras sacerdote, y los varones cabezas de familias en la casa de sus padres, todos ellos por sus nombres, sentáronse el primer día del mes décimo para inquirir el negocio.

And among the sons of the priests there were found that had taken strange wives: namely, of the sons of Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren; Maaseiah, and Eliezer, and Jarib, and Gedaliah.
