Esdras 10

Enquanto Esdras orava e confessava, ele chorava e prostrava-se diante do templo de Deus. Uma grande multidão de homens israelitas, mulheres e crianças se juntaram a ele, e o povo chorava amargamente.

Y ORANDO Esdras y confesando, llorando y postrándose delante de la casa de Dios, juntóse á él una muy grande multitud de Israel, hombres y mujeres y niños; y lloraba el pueblo con gran llanto.

Now when Ezra had prayed, and when he had confessed, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there assembled unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept very sore.

Secanias, filho de Jeiel, dos descendentes de Elão, disse a Esdras: "Fomos infiéis ao nosso Deus e temos casado com mulheres estrangeiras do povo de outras terras. Mas agora, apesar disso, ainda há esperança para Israel.

Entonces respondió Sechânías hijo de Jehiel, de los hijos de Elam, y dijo á Esdras: Nosotros hemos prevaricado contra nuestro Dios, pues tomamos mujeres extranjeras de los pueblos de la tierra: mas hay aún esperanza para Israel sobre esto.

And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing.

Então, agora deixa-nos fazer uma aliança com nosso Deus para mandar sair todas as mulheres e seus filhos de acordo com os conselhos do Senhor e os conselhos daqueles que temem aos mandamentos do nosso Deus, e que se faça de acordo com a Lei.

Ahora pues hagamos pacto con nuestro Dios, que echaremos todas las mujeres y los nacidos de ellas, según el consejo del Señor, y de los que temen el mandamiento de nuestro Dios: y hágase conforme á la ley.

Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law.

Levanta-te, porque isso é uma tarefa tua, e nós estamos contigo. Sê forte e faze isso!"

Arise; for this matter belongeth unto thee: we also will be with thee: be of good courage, and do it.

Então, Esdras levantou-se e fez os principais sacerdotes, os levitas e todos de Israel prometerem agir dessa maneira. Assim todos eles fizeram um juramento solene.

Entonces se levantó Esdras, y juramentó á los príncipes de los sacerdotes y de los Levitas, y á todo Israel, que harían conforme á esto; y ellos juraron.

Then arose Ezra, and made the chief priests, the Levites, and all Israel, to swear that they should do according to this word. And they sware.

Esdras levantou-se de diante do templo de Deus e foi aos quartos de Joanã, filho de Eliasibe. Ele não comeu pão e nem bebeu água porque estava lamentando sobre a infidelidade daqueles que voltaram do cativeiro.

Levantóse luego Esdras de delante la casa de Dios, y fuése á la cámara de Johanán hijo de Eliasib: é ido allá, no comió pan ni bebió agua, porque se entristeció sobre la prevaricación de los de la transmigración.

Then Ezra rose up from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Johanan the son of Eliashib: and when he came thither, he did eat no bread, nor drink water: for he mourned because of the transgression of them that had been carried away.

Desse modo, eles anunciaram em Judá e Jerusalém, para todo o povo que voltou do exílio, que todos se reunissem em Jerusalém.

E hicieron pasar pregón por Judá y por Jerusalem á todos los hijos de la transmigración, que se juntasen en Jerusalem:

Qualquer um que não viesse em três dias, de acordo com os conselhos dos oficiais e anciãos, perderia todos os seus bens e seria excluído da grande congregação do povo que voltou do exílio.

Y que el que no viniera dentro de tres días, conforme al acuerdo de los príncipes y de los ancianos, perdiese toda su hacienda, y él fuese apartado de la compañía de los de la transmigración.

And that whosoever would not come within three days, according to the counsel of the princes and the elders, all his substance should be forfeited, and himself separated from the congregation of those that had been carried away.

Então, todos os homens de Judá e de Benjamin, em três dias, reuniram-se em Jerusalém. Era o nono mês e o vigésimo dia do mês. Todo o povo estava de pé na praça, diante do templo de Deus, e eles tremeram por causa desta palavra e da chuva.

Así todos los hombres de Judá y de Benjamín se reunieron en Jerusalem dentro de tres días, á los veinte del mes, el cual era el mes noveno; y sentóse todo el pueblo en la plaza de la casa de Dios, temblando con motivo de aquel negocio, y á causa de las lluvias.

Esdras, o sacerdote, levantou-se e disse: "Vós mesmos cometestes traição. Vós vivestes com mulheres estrangeiras, e assim a culpa de Israel foi aumentada.

Y levantóse Esdras el sacerdote, y díjoles: Vosotros habéis prevaricado, por cuanto tomasteis mujeres extrañas, añadiendo así sobre el pecado de Israel.

And Ezra the priest stood up, and said unto them, Ye have transgressed, and have taken strange wives, to increase the trespass of Israel.

Mas agora, confessai o vosso pecado a Yahweh, o Deus de vossos antepassados, e fazei a vontade Dele. Separai-vos dos povos da terra e das mulheres estrangeiras".

Ahora pues, dad gloria á Jehová Dios de vuestros padres, y haced su voluntad, y apartaos de los pueblos de las tierras, y de las mujeres extranjeras.

Toda a congregação respondeu em alta voz: "Nós faremos conforme tu disseste.

Y respondió todo aquel concurso, y dijeron en alta voz: Así se haga conforme á tu palabra.

Then all the congregation answered and said with a loud voice, As thou hast said, so must we do.

Then all the assembly answered with a loud voice, “We must do as you have said concerning us.

Todavia, há um povo numeroso e é época da chuva. Nós não temos como ficar do lado de fora, e não é apenas um ou dois dias de trabalho, porque muitos de nós temos transgredido grandemente nesse assunto.

Mas el pueblo es mucho, y el tiempo lluvioso, y no hay fuerza para estar en la calle: ni la obra es de un día ni de dos, porque somos muchos los que hemos prevaricado en este negocio.

But the people are many, and it is a time of much rain, and we are not able to stand without, neither is this a work of one day or two: for we are many that have transgressed in this thing.

Então deixa nossos líderes representarem toda a congregação. Todos os que permitiram que mulheres estrangeiras vivessem em nossas cidades virão, no tempo combinado com os anciãos e os juízes da cidade, até que a furiosa ira de nosso Deus se afaste de nós".

Estén ahora nuestros príncipes, los de toda la congregación; y todos aquellos que en nuestras ciudades hubieren tomado mujeres extranjeras, vengan á tiempos aplazados, y con ellos los ancianos de cada ciudad, y los jueces de ellas, hasta que apartemos de nosotros el furor de la ira de nuestro Dios sobre esto.

Let now our rulers of all the congregation stand, and let all them which have taken strange wives in our cities come at appointed times, and with them the elders of every city, and the judges thereof, until the fierce wrath of our God for this matter be turned from us.

Now let our princes be appointed for all the assembly, and let all those who are in our cities who have married foreign women come at appointed times, and with them the elders of every city and its judges, until the fierce wrath of our God is turned from us, until this matter is resolved.”

Jônatas, filho de Asael, e Jazeías, filho de Ticvá, apoiados por Mesulão e Sabetai, o levita, se opuseram a isso.

Fueron pues puestos sobre este negocio Jonathán hijo de Asael, y Jaazías hijo de Tikvah; y Mesullam y Sabethai, Levitas, les ayudaron.

E assim fez o povo que retornou do exílio. Esdras, o sacerdote, escolheu homens, os chefes de famílias, segundo a casa de seus antepassados, todos eles identificados pelo nome, e eles examinaram o assunto no primeiro dia do décimo mês.

E hicieron así los hijos de la transmigración. Y apartados que fueron luego Esdras sacerdote, y los varones cabezas de familias en la casa de sus padres, todos ellos por sus nombres, sentáronse el primer día del mes décimo para inquirir el negocio.

And the children of the captivity did so. And Ezra the priest, with certain chief of the fathers, after the house of their fathers, and all of them by their names, were separated, and sat down in the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.

Entre os descendentes dos sacerdotes havia aqueles que viveram com mulheres estrangeiras: dentre os descendentes de Jesua, filho de Jozadaque, e seus irmãos estavam Maaseias, Eliézer, Jaribe e Gedalias.

Y de los hijos de los sacerdotes que habían tomado mujeres extranjeras, fueron hallados estos: De los hijos de Jesuá hijo de Josadec, y de sus hermanos: Maasías, y Eliezer, y Jarib, y Gedalías;

And among the sons of the priests there were found that had taken strange wives: namely, of the sons of Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren; Maaseiah, and Eliezer, and Jarib, and Gedaliah.

E então eles decidiram mandar embora suas mulheres. Uma vez que eram culpados, eles ofereceram um carneiro do rebanho por sua culpa.

Moreover of Israel: of the sons of Parosh; Ramiah, and Jeziah, and Malchiah, and Miamin, and Eleazar, and Malchijah, and Benaiah.

Todos esses tomaram mulheres estrangeiras e tiveram filhos com algumas delas.

All these had taken strange wives: and some of them had wives by whom they had children.
