Esdras 10

Während nun Esra also betete und sein Bekenntnis ablegte, weinte und vor dem Hause Gottes lag, versammelte sich zu ihm aus Israel eine sehr große Gemeinde von Männern, Frauen und Kindern; denn das Volk weinte sehr.

Y ORANDO Esdras y confesando, llorando y postrándose delante de la casa de Dios, juntóse á él una muy grande multitud de Israel, hombres y mujeres y niños; y lloraba el pueblo con gran llanto.

Now when Ezra had prayed, and when he had confessed, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there assembled unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept very sore.

Und Sechanja, der Sohn Jechiels, aus den Kindern Elams, antwortete und sprach zu Esra: Wir haben uns an unserm Gott versündigt, daß wir fremde Frauen aus den Völkern des Landes heimgeführt haben. Nun aber ist noch Hoffnung für Israel!

Entonces respondió Sechânías hijo de Jehiel, de los hijos de Elam, y dijo á Esdras: Nosotros hemos prevaricado contra nuestro Dios, pues tomamos mujeres extranjeras de los pueblos de la tierra: mas hay aún esperanza para Israel sobre esto.

And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing.

Lasset uns nun einen Bund mit unserm Gott machen, daß wir alle Frauen und die von ihnen geboren sind, hinaustun nach dem Rat meines Herrn und derer, welche das Gebot unsres Gottes fürchten, daß man tue nach dem Gesetz.

Arise; for this matter belongeth unto thee: we also will be with thee: be of good courage, and do it.

Da stand Esra auf und nahm einen Eid von den obersten Priestern, von den Leviten und von ganz Israel, daß sie nach diesem Wort tun wollten. Und sie schwuren.

Und Esra stand auf vor dem Hause und ging in die Kammer Johanans, des Sohnes Eljaschibs. Er ging dort hinein und aß kein Brot und trank kein Wasser; denn er trug Leid wegen der Übertretung derer, die gefangen gewesen.

Levantóse luego Esdras de delante la casa de Dios, y fuése á la cámara de Johanán hijo de Eliasib: é ido allá, no comió pan ni bebió agua, porque se entristeció sobre la prevaricación de los de la transmigración.

Then Ezra rose up from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Johanan the son of Eliashib: and when he came thither, he did eat no bread, nor drink water: for he mourned because of the transgression of them that had been carried away.

Da versammelten sich alle Männer von Juda und Benjamin in Jerusalem auf den dritten Tag, das war der zwanzigste Tag des neunten Monats. Und alles Volk saß auf dem Platze vor dem Hause Gottes, zitternd um der Sache willen und wegen des Regens.

Und Esra, der Priester, stand auf und sprach zu ihnen: Ihr habt euch versündigt und habt fremde Frauen heimgeführt, womit ihr die Schuld Israels noch größer machtet.

Da antwortete die ganze Gemeinde und sprach mit lauter Stimme: Es soll geschehen, wie du uns gesagt hast!

Y respondió todo aquel concurso, y dijeron en alta voz: Así se haga conforme á tu palabra.

Then all the congregation answered and said with a loud voice, As thou hast said, so must we do.

Aber des Volkes ist viel, und es ist Regenwetter, und man kann nicht hier draußen stehen; und es ist auch nicht ein Werk von einem oder zwei Tagen, denn wir haben der Übertretung zu viel gemacht.

Laßt doch unsere Obersten für die ganze Gemeinde einstehen; und alle, die in unsern Städten fremde Frauen heimgeführt haben, sollen zu bestimmten Zeiten kommen, und mit ihnen die Ältesten einer jeden Stadt und deren Richter, bis der Zorn unsres Gottes um dieser Sache willen von uns abgewandt wird.

Estén ahora nuestros príncipes, los de toda la congregación; y todos aquellos que en nuestras ciudades hubieren tomado mujeres extranjeras, vengan á tiempos aplazados, y con ellos los ancianos de cada ciudad, y los jueces de ellas, hasta que apartemos de nosotros el furor de la ira de nuestro Dios sobre esto.

Let now our rulers of all the congregation stand, and let all them which have taken strange wives in our cities come at appointed times, and with them the elders of every city, and the judges thereof, until the fierce wrath of our God for this matter be turned from us.

Now let our princes be appointed for all the assembly, and let all those who are in our cities who have married foreign women come at appointed times, and with them the elders of every city and its judges, until the fierce wrath of our God is turned from us, until this matter is resolved.”

Nur Jonatan, der Sohn Asahels, und Jehasia, der Sohn Tikwas, standen dagegen auf, und Mesullam und Sabbetai, der Levit, unterstützten sie.

Fueron pues puestos sobre este negocio Jonathán hijo de Asael, y Jaazías hijo de Tikvah; y Mesullam y Sabethai, Levitas, les ayudaron.

Und die Kinder der Gefangenschaft taten also: der Priester Esra sonderte sich Männer aus, die Familienhäupter ihrer Stammhäuser, und diese alle mit Namen bezeichnet, die setzten sich am ersten Tage des zehnten Monats zur Untersuchung der Angelegenheit.

E hicieron así los hijos de la transmigración. Y apartados que fueron luego Esdras sacerdote, y los varones cabezas de familias en la casa de sus padres, todos ellos por sus nombres, sentáronse el primer día del mes décimo para inquirir el negocio.

And among the sons of the priests there were found that had taken strange wives: namely, of the sons of Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren; Maaseiah, and Eliezer, and Jarib, and Gedaliah.
