1Und als der siebte Monat herankam, und die Kinder Israel in den Städten waren, da versammelte sich das Volk wie ein Mann nach Jerusalem.
2Und Jeschua, der Sohn Jozadaks, und seine Brüder, die Priester, und Serubbabel, der Sohn Schealtiels, und seine Brüder machten sich auf und bauten den Altar des Gottes Israels, um Brandopfer darauf zu opfern, wie geschrieben steht in dem Gesetz Moses, des Mannes Gottes.
3Und sie richteten den Altar auf an seiner Stätte, denn ein Schrecken war auf ihnen vor den Völkern der Länder; und sie opferten auf ihm Brandopfer dem Jehova, die Morgen-und Abendbrandopfer.
4Und sie feierten das Laubhüttenfest, wie es vorgeschrieben ist; und sie opferten Brandopfer Tag für Tag, nach der Zahl, nach der Vorschrift, das Tägliche an seinem Tage;
5und danach das beständige Brandopfer und diejenigen der Neumonde und aller geheiligten Feste Jehovas, und die Brandopfer eines jeden, der Jehova eine freiwillige Gabe brachte.
6Am ersten Tage des siebten Monats fingen sie an, Jehova Brandopfer zu opfern; aber der Grund des Tempels Jehovas war noch nicht gelegt. -
7Und sie gaben den Steinhauern und den Zimmerleuten Geld, und Speise und Trank und Öl den Zidoniern und den Tyrern, damit sie Zedernholz vom Libanon nach dem Meere von Japho brächten, gemäß der Vollmacht Kores', des Königs von Persien, an sie.
8Und im zweiten Jahre ihres Kommens zum Hause Gottes in Jerusalem, im zweiten Monat, begannen Serubbabel, der Sohn Schealtiels, und Jeschua, der Sohn Jozadaks, und ihre übrigen Brüder, die Priester und die Leviten, und alle, die aus der Gefangenschaft nach Jerusalem gekommen waren, und sie bestellten die Leviten von zwanzig Jahren an und darüber, um Aufsicht zu führen über das Werk des Hauses Jehovas.
9Und Jeschua, seine Söhne und seine Brüder, Kadmiel und seine Söhne, die Söhne Judas, standen wie ein Mann, um Aufsicht zu führen über die, welche das Werk am Hause Gottes taten; auch die Söhne Henadads, ihre Söhne und ihre Brüder, die Leviten.
10Und als die Bauleute den Grund zum Tempel Jehovas legten, ließ man die Priester in ihrer Kleidung hintreten, mit Trompeten, und die Leviten, die Söhne Asaphs, mit Zimbeln, um Jehova zu loben nach der Anweisung Davids, des Königs von Israel.
11Und sie hoben einen Wechselgesang an mit Lob und Dank dem Jehova: denn er ist gütig, denn seine Güte währt ewiglich über Israel. Und das ganze Volk erhob ein großes Jubelgeschrei beim Lobe Jehovas, weil der Grund zum Hause Jehovas gelegt wurde.
12Viele aber von den Priestern und den Leviten und den Häuptern der Väter, den Alten, welche das erste Haus gesehen hatten, weinten mit lauter Stimme, als vor ihren Augen der Grund zu diesem Hause gelegt wurde; viele aber erhoben ihre Stimme mit freudigem Jauchzen.
13Und das Volk konnte den Schall des freudigen Jauchzens nicht unterscheiden von der Stimme des Weinens im Volke; denn das Volk erhob ein großes Jubelgeschrei, und der Schall wurde gehört bis in die Ferne.

1Y LLEGADO el mes séptimo, y ya los hijos de Israel en las ciudades, juntóse el pueblo como un solo hombre en Jerusalem.
2Entonces se levantó Jesuá hijo de Josadec, y sus hermanos los sacerdotes, y Zorobabel hijo de Sealthiel, y sus hermanos, y edificaron el altar del Dios de Israel, para ofrecer sobre él holocaustos, como está escrito en la ley de Moisés varón de Dios.
3Y asentaron el altar sobre sus basas, bien que tenían miedo de los pueblos de las tierras, y ofrecieron sobre él holocaustos á Jehová, holocaustos á la mañana y á la tarde.
4Hicieron asimismo la solemnidad de las cabañas, como está escrito, y holocaustos cada día por cuenta, conforme al rito, cada cosa en su día;
5Y á más de esto, el holocausto continuo, y las nuevas lunas, y todas las fiestas santificadas de Jehová, y todo sacrificio espontáneo, toda ofrenda voluntaria á Jehová.
6Desde el primer día del mes séptimo comenzaron á ofrecer holocaustos á Jehová; mas el templo de Jehová no estaba aún fundado.
7Y dieron dinero á los carpinteros y oficiales; asimismo comida y bebida y aceite á los Sidonios y Tirios, para que trajesen madera de cedro del Líbano á la mar de Joppe, conforme á la voluntad de Ciro rey de Persia acerca de esto.
8Y en el año segundo de su venida á la casa de Dios en Jerusalem, en el mes segundo, comenzaron Zorobabel hijo de Sealthiel, y Jesuá hijo de Josadec, y los otros sus hermanos, los sacerdotes y los Levitas, y todos los que habían venido de la cautividad á Jerusalem; y pusieron á los Levitas de veinte años arriba para que tuviesen cargo de la obra de la casa de Jehová.
9Jesuá también, sus hijos y sus hermanos, Cadmiel y sus hijos, hijos de Judá, como un solo hombre asistían para dar priesa á los que hacían la obra en la casa de Dios: los hijos de Henadad, sus hijos y sus hermanos, Levitas.
10Y cuando los albañiles del templo de Jehová echaban los cimientos, pusieron á los sacerdotes vestidos de sus ropas, con trompetas, y á Levitas hijos de Asaph con címbalos, para que alabasen á Jehová, según ordenanza de David rey de Israel.
11Y cantaban, alabando y confesando á Jehová, y decían: Porque es bueno, porque para siempre es su misericordia sobre Israel. Y todo el pueblo aclamaba con grande júbilo, alabando á Jehová, porque á la casa de Jehová se echaba el cimiento.
12Y muchos de los sacerdotes y de los Levitas y de los cabezas de los padres, ancianos que habían visto la casa primera, viendo fundar esta casa, lloraban en alta voz, mientras muchos otros daban grandes gritos de alegría.
13Y no podía discernir el pueblo el clamor de los gritos de alegría, de la voz del lloro del pueblo: porque clamaba el pueblo con grande júbilo, y oíase el ruido hasta de lejos.

1And when the seventh month was come, and the children of Israel were in the cities, the people gathered themselves together as one man to Jerusalem.
2Then stood up Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and builded the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings thereon, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.
3And they set the altar upon his bases; for fear was upon them because of the people of those countries: and they offered burnt offerings thereon unto the LORD, even burnt offerings morning and evening.
4They kept also the feast of tabernacles, as it is written, and offered the daily burnt offerings by number, according to the custom, as the duty of every day required;
5And afterward offered the continual burnt offering, both of the new moons, and of all the set feasts of the LORD that were consecrated, and of every one that willingly offered a freewill offering unto the LORD.
6From the first day of the seventh month began they to offer burnt offerings unto the LORD. But the foundation of the temple of the LORD was not yet laid.
7They gave money also unto the masons, and to the carpenters; and meat, and drink, and oil, unto them of Zidon, and to them of Tyre, to bring cedar trees from Lebanon to the sea of Joppa, according to the grant that they had of Cyrus king of Persia.
8Now in the second year of their coming unto the house of God at Jerusalem, in the second month, began Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and the remnant of their brethren the priests and the Levites, and all they that were come out of the captivity unto Jerusalem; and appointed the Levites, from twenty years old and upward, to set forward the work of the house of the LORD.
9Then stood Jeshua with his sons and his brethren, Kadmiel and his sons, the sons of Judah, together, to set forward the workmen in the house of God: the sons of Henadad, with their sons and their brethren the Levites.
10And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise the LORD, after the ordinance of David king of Israel.
11And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the LORD; because he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.
12But many of the priests and Levites and chief of the fathers, who were ancient men, that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice; and many shouted aloud for joy:
13So that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people: for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard afar off.

2Then Jeshua the son of Jozadak stood up with his brothers the priests and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and his relatives, and built the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings on it, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.
3In spite of their fear because of the peoples of the surrounding lands, they set the altar on its base; and they offered burnt offerings on it to the LORD, even burnt offerings morning and evening.
4They kept the feast of booths, as it is written, and offered the daily burnt offerings by number, according to the ordinance, as the duty of every day required;
5and afterward the continual burnt offering, the offerings of the new moons, of all the set feasts of the LORD that were consecrated, and of everyone who willingly offered a free will offering to the LORD.
6From the first day of the seventh month, they began to offer burnt offerings to the LORD; but the foundation of the LORD’s temple was not yet laid.

9Then Jeshua stood with his sons and his brothers, Kadmiel and his sons, the sons of Judah, together to have the oversight of the workmen in God’s house: the sons of Henadad, with their sons and their brothers the Levites.
10When the builders laid the foundation of the LORD’s temple, they set the priests in their vestments with trumpets, with the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise the LORD, according to the directions of David king of Israel.
11They sang to one another in praising and giving thanks to the LORD, “For he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever toward Israel.” All the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the LORD’s house had been laid.
12But many of the priests and Levites and heads of fathers’ households, the old men who had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice. Many also shouted aloud for joy,
13so that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people; for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard far away.
