23En cuanto se leyó la copia de la carta del rey Artajerjes ante Rehum, el secretario Simsai y sus compañeros, estos fueron de prisa a Jerusalén y obligaron a los judíos, por la fuerza de las armas, a detener la construcción.

23Entonces, cuando el traslado de la carta del rey Artajerjes fué leído delante de Rehum, y de Simsai secretario, y sus compañeros, fueron prestamente á Jerusalem á los Judíos, é hiciéronles cesar con poder y fuerza.

23Now when the copy of king Artaxerxes’ letter was read before Rehum, and Shimshai the scribe, and their companions, they went up in haste to Jerusalem unto the Jews, and made them to cease by force and power.
