Da aber die Widersacher Judas und Benjamins horeten, daß die Kinder des Gefangnisses dem HERRN, dem Gott Israels, den Tempel baueten,

Y OYENDO los enemigos de Judá y de Benjamín, que los venidos de la cautividad edificaban el templo de Jehová Dios de Israel,

Now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the children of the captivity builded the temple unto the LORD God of Israel;

kamen sie zu Serubabel und zu den obersten Vatern und sprachen zu ihnen: Wir wollen mit euch bauen, denn wir suchen euren Gott, gleichwie ihr; und wir haben nicht geopfert, seit der Zeit Assar-Haddon, der Konig zu Assur, uns hat heraufgebracht.

Llegáronse á Zorobabel, y á los cabezas de los padres, y dijéronles: Edificaremos con vosotros, porque como vosotros buscaremos á vuestro Dios, y á él sacrificamos desde los días de Esar-haddón rey de Asiria, que nos hizo subir aquí.

Then they came to Zerubbabel, and to the chief of the fathers, and said unto them, Let us build with you: for we seek your God, as ye do; and we do sacrifice unto him since the days of Esar-haddon king of Assur, which brought us up hither.

they came near to Zerubbabel, and to the heads of fathers’ households, and said to them, “Let us build with you, for we seek your God as you do; and we have been sacrificing to him since the days of Esar Haddon king of Assyria, who brought us up here.”

Aber Serubabel und Jesua und die andern obersten Vater unter Israel antworteten ihnen: Es ziemet sich nicht uns und euch, das Haus unsers Gottes zu bauen, sondern wir wollen allein bauen dem HERRN, dem Gott Israels, wie uns Kores, der Konig in Persien, geboten hat.

Y díjoles Zorobabel, y Jesuá, y los demás cabezas de los padres de Israel: No nos conviene edificar con vosotros casa á nuestro Dios, sino que nosotros solos la edificaremos á Jehová Dios de Israel, como nos mandó el rey Ciro, rey de Persia.

But Zerubbabel, and Jeshua, and the rest of the chief of the fathers of Israel, said unto them, Ye have nothing to do with us to build an house unto our God; but we ourselves together will build unto the LORD God of Israel, as king Cyrus the king of Persia hath commanded us.

Da hinderte das Volk im Lande die Hand des Volks Juda und schreckten sie ab im Bauen.

Es sei kund dem Konige, daß die Juden, die von dirzu uns heraufkommen sind gen Jerusalem, in die aufruhrerische und bose Stadt, bauen dieselbige und machen ihre Mauern und fuhren sie aus dem Grunde.

Sea notorio al rey, que los Judíos que subieron de ti á nosotros, vinieron á Jerusalem; y edifican la ciudad rebelde y mala, y han erigido los muros; y compuesto los fundamentos.

Be it known unto the king, that the Jews which came up from thee to us are come unto Jerusalem, building the rebellious and the bad city, and have set up the walls thereof, and joined the foundations.

So sei nun dem Konige kund, wo diese Stadt gebauet wird und die Mauern wieder gemacht, so werden sie Schoß, Zoll und jahrliche Zinsen nicht geben, und ihr Vornehmen wird den Konigen Schaden bringen.

Ahora, notorio sea al rey, que si aquella ciudad fuere reedificada, y los muros fueren establecidos, el tributo, pecho, y rentas no darán, y el catastro de lo reyes será menoscabado.

Be it known now unto the king, that, if this city be builded, and the walls set up again, then will they not pay toll, tribute, and custom, and so thou shalt endamage the revenue of the kings.

Nun wir aber alle dabei sind, die wir den Tempel zerstoret haben, haben wir die Schmach des Konigs nicht langer wollen sehen; darum schicken wir hin und lassen's dem Konige zu wissen tun,

Ya pues que estamos mantenidos de palacio, no nos es justo ver el menosprecio del rey: hemos enviado por tanto, y hécholo saber al rey,

Now because we have maintenance from the king’s palace, and it was not meet for us to see the king’s dishonour, therefore have we sent and certified the king;

daß man lasse suchen in den Chroniken deiner Vater, so wirst du finden in denselbigen Chroniken und erfahren, daß diese Stadt aufruhrerisch und schadlich ist den Konigen und Landen, und machen, daß andere auch abfallen, von alters her, darum die Stadt auch zerstoret ist.

Para que busque en el libro de las historias de nuestros padres; y hallarás en el libro de las historias, y sabrás que esta ciudad es ciudad rebelde, y perjudicial á los reyes y á las provincias, y que de tiempo antiguo forman en medio de ella rebeliones; por lo que esta ciudad fué destruída.

That search may be made in the book of the records of thy fathers: so shalt thou find in the book of the records, and know that this city is a rebellious city, and hurtful unto kings and provinces, and that they have moved sedition within the same of old time: for which cause was this city destroyed.

Darum tun wir dem Konige zu wissen, daß, wo diese Stadt gebauet wird und ihre Mauern gemacht, so wirst du von ihr nichts behalten diesseit des Wassers.

Hacemos saber al rey, que si esta ciudad fuere edificada, y erigidos sus muros, la parte allá del río no será tuya.

We certify the king that, if this city be builded again, and the walls thereof set up, by this means thou shalt have no portion on this side the river.

We inform the king that if this city is built and the walls finished, then you will have no possession beyond the River.

Da sandte der Konig eine Antwort zu Rehum, dem Kanzler, und Simsai, dem Schreiber, und den andern ihres Rats, die in Samaria wohneten, und den andern jenseit des Wassers; Friede und Gruß!

El rey envió esta respuesta á Rehum canciller, y á Simsai secretario, y á los demás sus compañeros que habitan en Samaria, y á los demás de la parte allá del río: Paz, etc.

Then sent the king an answer unto Rehum the chancellor, and to Shimshai the scribe, and to the rest of their companions that dwell in Samaria, and unto the rest beyond the river, Peace, and at such a time.

Der Brief, den ihr uns zugeschickt habt, ist offentlich vor mir gelesen.

And I commanded, and search hath been made, and it is found that this city of old time hath made insurrection against kings, and that rebellion and sedition have been made therein.

Auch sind machtige Konige zu Jerusalem gewesen, die geherrschet haben uber alles, das jenseit des Wassers ist, daß ihnen Zoll, Schoß und jahrliche Zinsen gegeben worden.

Y que reyes fuertes hubo en Jerusalem, quienes señorearon en todo lo que está á la parte allá del río; y que tributo, y pecho, y rentas se les daba.

So sehet nun zu, daß ihr nicht hinlassig hierinnen seid; damit nicht Schaden entstehe dem Konige.

Y mirad bien que no hagáis error en esto: ¿por qué habrá de crecer el daño para perjuicio de los reyes?

Take heed now that ye fail not to do this: why should damage grow to the hurt of the kings?

Da nun der Brief des Konigs Arthahsastha gelesen ward vor Rehum und Simsai, dem Schreiber, und ihrem Rat, zogen sie eilend hinauf gen Jerusalem zu den Juden und wehreten ihnen mit dem Arm und Gewalt.

Entonces, cuando el traslado de la carta del rey Artajerjes fué leído delante de Rehum, y de Simsai secretario, y sus compañeros, fueron prestamente á Jerusalem á los Judíos, é hiciéronles cesar con poder y fuerza.
