Als aber die Widersacher Judas und Benjamins hörten, daß die Kinder der Gefangenschaft dem HERRN, dem Gott Israels, den Tempel bauten,

Y OYENDO los enemigos de Judá y de Benjamín, que los venidos de la cautividad edificaban el templo de Jehová Dios de Israel,

Now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the children of the captivity builded the temple unto the LORD God of Israel;

kamen sie zu Serubbabel und zu den Familienhäuptern und sprachen zu ihnen: Wir wollen mit euch bauen; denn wir wollen euren Gott suchen, gleich wie ihr; opfern wir ihm nicht seit der Zeit Asar-Hadons, des Königs von Assyrien, der uns hierher gebracht hat?

Llegáronse á Zorobabel, y á los cabezas de los padres, y dijéronles: Edificaremos con vosotros, porque como vosotros buscaremos á vuestro Dios, y á él sacrificamos desde los días de Esar-haddón rey de Asiria, que nos hizo subir aquí.

Then they came to Zerubbabel, and to the chief of the fathers, and said unto them, Let us build with you: for we seek your God, as ye do; and we do sacrifice unto him since the days of Esar-haddon king of Assur, which brought us up hither.

Aber Serubbabel und Jesua und die übrigen Familienhäupter Israels antworteten ihnen: Es geziemt sich nicht, daß ihr und wir das Haus Gottes †gemeinsam bauen, sondern wir allein wollen dem HERRN, dem Gott Israels, bauen, wie uns Kores, der König von Persien, geboten hat!

Y díjoles Zorobabel, y Jesuá, y los demás cabezas de los padres de Israel: No nos conviene edificar con vosotros casa á nuestro Dios, sino que nosotros solos la edificaremos á Jehová Dios de Israel, como nos mandó el rey Ciro, rey de Persia.

But Zerubbabel, and Jeshua, and the rest of the chief of the fathers of Israel, said unto them, Ye have nothing to do with us to build an house unto our God; but we ourselves together will build unto the LORD God of Israel, as king Cyrus the king of Persia hath commanded us.

Da geschah es, daß das Volk im Lande die Hände des Volkes Juda lässig machte und sie vom Bauen abschreckte.

Es sei dem König kund, daß die Juden, die von dir zu uns heraufgezogen, nach Jerusalem, in die aufrührerische und böse Stadt gekommen sind, um dieselbe zu bauen, und daß sie die Mauern vollenden und die Grundfesten ausbessern wollen.

Sea notorio al rey, que los Judíos que subieron de ti á nosotros, vinieron á Jerusalem; y edifican la ciudad rebelde y mala, y han erigido los muros; y compuesto los fundamentos.

Be it known unto the king, that the Jews which came up from thee to us are come unto Jerusalem, building the rebellious and the bad city, and have set up the walls thereof, and joined the foundations.

Be it known now unto the king, that, if this city be builded, and the walls set up again, then will they not pay toll, tribute, and custom, and so thou shalt endamage the revenue of the kings.

Da wir nun das Salz des Palastes essen und den Schaden des Königs nicht länger ansehen wollen, so senden wir zum König und tun es ihm kund,

damit man im Buche der Denkwürdigkeiten deiner Väter nachforsche; dann wirst du in dem Buch der Denkwürdigkeiten finden und erfahren, daß diese Stadt aufrührerisch und den Königen und Statthaltern schädlich gewesen ist, und daß Gewalttätigkeiten darin begangen worden sind von alters her, weshalb die Stadt auch zerstört worden ist.

Para que busque en el libro de las historias de nuestros padres; y hallarás en el libro de las historias, y sabrás que esta ciudad es ciudad rebelde, y perjudicial á los reyes y á las provincias, y que de tiempo antiguo forman en medio de ella rebeliones; por lo que esta ciudad fué destruída.

That search may be made in the book of the records of thy fathers: so shalt thou find in the book of the records, and know that this city is a rebellious city, and hurtful unto kings and provinces, and that they have moved sedition within the same of old time: for which cause was this city destroyed.

Wir machen also den König darauf aufmerksam, daß, wenn diese Stadt gebaut wird und ihre Mauern vollendet werden, dir kein Teil diesseits des Stromes mehr bleiben wird.»

Hacemos saber al rey, que si esta ciudad fuere edificada, y erigidos sus muros, la parte allá del río no será tuya.

We certify the king that, if this city be builded again, and the walls thereof set up, by this means thou shalt have no portion on this side the river.

Then sent the king an answer unto Rehum the chancellor, and to Shimshai the scribe, and to the rest of their companions that dwell in Samaria, and unto the rest beyond the river, Peace, and at such a time.

Der Brief, den ihr uns zugeschickt habt, ist mir deutlich vorgelesen worden,

Auch sind mächtige Könige über Jerusalem gewesen, die über alles, was jenseits des Stromes ist, geherrscht haben und denen Steuer, Zoll und Weggeld zu entrichten war.

Y mirad bien que no hagáis error en esto: ¿por qué habrá de crecer el daño para perjuicio de los reyes?

Take heed now that ye fail not to do this: why should damage grow to the hurt of the kings?

Als nun der Brief des Königs Artasasta vor Rehum, dem Statthalter, und Simsai, dem Schreiber, und ihren Genossen verlesen worden war, eilten sie nach Jerusalem zu den Juden und wehrten ihnen mit aller Macht.

Damals hörte das Werk am Hause Gottes zu Jerusalem auf und stand stille bis in das zweite Jahr der Regierung des Königs Darius von Persien.
