1Ahora estos son los jefes de familia que fueron enumerados de los que subieron conmigo desde Babilonia, cuando Artajerjes era el rey.
2De los hijos de Finees, Gersón; de los hijos de Itamar, Daniel; de los hijos de David, Hatus;
3De los hijos de Secanías; de los hijos de Paros, Zacarías; y con él se enumeraron ciento cincuenta varones.
4De los hijos de Pahat-moab, Eliehoenai, hijo de Zerahías; y con él doscientos varones.
5De los hijos de Secanías, el hijo de Jahaziel; y con él trescientos varones.
6Y de los hijos de Adín, Ebed, hijo de Jonatán; y con él cincuenta varones.
7Y de los hijos de Elam, Jesaías; el hijo de Atalía; Y con él setenta varones.
8Y de los hijos de Sefatías, Zebadías, hijo de Micael; Y con él ochenta varones.
9De los hijos de Joab, Obadias, hijo de Jehiel; y con él doscientos dieciocho varones.
10Y de los hijos de Selomit, hijo de Josifías; y con él ciento sesenta varones.
11Y de los hijos de Bebai, Zacarías, hijo de Bebai; Y con él veintiocho varones.
12De los hijos de Azgad, Johanan, hijo de Hacatan; y con él ciento diez varones.
13Y de los hijos de Adonicam, los últimos, cuyos nombres fueron Elifelet, Jeiel y Semaías; Y con ellos sesenta varones.
14Y de los hijos de Bigvai, Uzai y Zabud; Y con ellos setenta varones.
15Y los hice juntar junto al río que fluía hacia Ahava; y estuvimos allí en tiendas de campaña durante tres días; y después de ver a la gente y los sacerdotes, vi que no había hijos de Leví.
16Entonces envié a Eliezer, a Ariel, a Semaias, a Elnatan, Jarib, a Elnatan, a Natán, a Zacarías, a Mesulam, a todos los hombres responsables; y por Joiarib y Elnatan, que eran hombres sabios.
17Y los envié a Ido, el jefe en el lugar Casifia, y les ordené que dijeran a Ido y sus hermanos los sirvientes del templo que estaban en Casifia, para que pudieran traer con nosotros hombres para hacer el trabajo del templo de nuestro Dios.
18Y con la ayuda de nuestro Dios, obtuvieron para nosotros, uno de los hijos de Mahli, el hijo de Leví, el hijo de Israel; Sherebiah con sus hijos y hermanos, dieciocho;
19Y a Hasabías, y Jesaías de los hijos de Merari, a sus hermanos y a sus hijos, veinte;
20Y de los sirvientes del templo, a quienes David y los capitanes habían dado el trabajo de ayudar a los levitas, doscientos veinte, todos ellos especialmente nombrados.
21Entonces proclamé un ayuno, al lado del río Ahava, para que pudiéramos humillarnos ante nuestro Dios en oración, pidiéndole un camino recto para nosotros y para nuestros pequeños y para toda nuestra sustancia.
22Porque, por vergüenza, no le pediría al rey que una banda de hombres y jinetes armados nos ayuden contra aquellos que podrían atacarnos en el camino: porque habíamos dicho al rey: La mano de nuestro Dios está sobre sus siervos para siempre, pero su poder y su ira están contra todos los que se apartaron de él.
23Así que ayunamos, pidiendo a nuestro Dios por esto: y Dios atendió nuestra súplica.
24Así que puse a un lado a doce de los jefes de los sacerdotes, a Serebías, a Hasabías y a diez de sus hermanos con ellos,
25Y les di y pesé la plata, el oro y las vasijas, toda la ofrenda por la casa de nuestro Dios que el rey y sus sabios y sus capitanes y todo el Israel presente había dado:
26Les pese y entregue en sus manos seiscientos cincuenta talentos de plata, y vasos de plata, cien pesos de talentos y cien talentos de oro.
27Y veinte tazas de oro, de mil dracmas, y dos recipientes del mejor bronce brillante, igual en valor al oro.
28Y les dije: Ustedes son consagrados para el Señor, y los vasos son sagrados; y la plata y el oro son una ofrenda voluntaria al Señor, el Dios de tus padres.
29Cuídalos y guárdalos, hasta que los pongas en la balanza delante de los jefes de los sacerdotes y los levitas y los jefes de las familias de Israel, en Jerusalén, en las habitaciones de la casa del Señor.
30Entonces los sacerdotes y los levitas tomaron el peso de la plata y el oro y los vasos, para llevarlos a Jerusalén a la casa de nuestro Dios.
31Luego nos fuimos del río de Ahava el día doce del primer mes para ir a Jerusalén; y la mano de nuestro Dios estaba sobre nosotros, y él nos dio la salvación de nuestros enemigos y de los que estaban esperando para atacarnos por el camino.
32Y vinimos a Jerusalén y estuvimos allí por tres días.
33Y al cuarto día, la plata y el oro y las vasijas se pesaron en la casa de nuestro Dios en manos de Meremot, el hijo de Urías, el sacerdote; Y con él estaba Eleazar, hijo de Finees; y con ellos estaban Jozabad, el hijo de Josué, y Noadías, el hijo de Binuy, los levitas;
34Todo se entregó por número y por peso, y el peso se dejó constancia en ese momento.
35Y los que habían sido prisioneros, que habían regresado de la cautividad, hicieron ofrendas quemadas al Dios de Israel, doce bueyes por todo Israel, noventa y seis ovejas, setenta y siete corderos, doce cabras por un ofrenda por el pecado: todo esto fue una ofrenda quemada para el Señor.
36Y dieron las órdenes del rey a los capitanes del rey y los gobernantes del oeste del río, y dieron a la gente y a la casa de Dios la ayuda que se necesitaba.

12Y de los hijos de Azgad, Johanán, hijo de Catán, y con él ciento y diez varones;
13Y de los hijos de Adonicam, los postreros, cuyos nombres son estos, Eliphelet, Jeiel, y Semaías, y con ellos sesenta varones;
14Y de los hijos de Bigvai, Utai y Zabud, y con ellos sesenta varones.
15Y juntélos junto al río que viene á Ahava, y reposamos allí tres días: y habiendo buscado entre el pueblo y entre los sacerdotes, no hallé allí de los hijos de Leví.
16Entonces despaché á Eliezer, y á Ariel, y á Semaías, y á Elnathán, y á Jarib, y á Elnathán, y á Nathán, y á Zacarías, y á Mesullam, principales; asimismo á Joiarib y á Elnathán, hombres doctos;
17Y enviélos á Iddo, jefe en el lugar de Casipia, y puse en boca de ellos las palabras que habían de hablar á Iddo, y á sus hermanos los Nethineos en el lugar de Casipia, para que nos trajesen ministros para la casa de nuestro Dios.
18Y trajéronnos, según la buena mano de nuestro Dios sobre nosotros, un varón entendido de los hijos de Mahalí, hijo de Leví, hijo de Israel; y á Serabías con sus hijos y sus hermanos, dieciocho;
19Y á Hasabías, y con él á Isaía de los hijos de Merari, á sus hermanos y á sus hijos, veinte;
20Y de los Nethineos, á quienes David con los príncipes puso para el ministerio de los Levitas, doscientos y veinte Nethineos: todos los cuales fueron declarados por sus nombres.
21Y publiqué ayuno allí junto al río de Ahava, para afligirnos delante de nuestro Dios, para solicitar de él camino derecho para nosotros, y para nuestros niños, y para toda nuestra hacienda.
22Porque tuve vergüenza de pedir al rey tropa y gente de á caballo que nos defendiesen del enemigo en el camino: porque habíamos hablado al rey, diciendo: La mano de nuestro Dios es para bien sobre todos los que le buscan; mas su fortaleza y su furor sobre todos los que le dejan.
23Ayunamos pues, y pedimos á nuestro Dios sobre esto, y él nos fué propicio.
24Aparté luego doce de los principales de los sacerdotes, á Serebías y á Hasabías, y con ellos diez de sus hermanos;
25Y peséles la plata, y el oro, y los vasos, la ofrenda que para la casa de nuestro Dios habían ofrecido el rey, y sus consultores, y sus príncipes, y todos los que se hallaron en Israel.
26Pesé pues en manos de ellos seiscientos y cincuenta talentos de plata, y vasos de plata por cien talentos, y cien talentos de oro;
27Además veinte tazones de oro, de mil dracmas; y dos vasos de metal limpio muy bueno, preciados como el oro.
28Y díjeles: Vosotros sois consagrados á Jehová, y santos los vasos; y la plata y el oro ofrenda voluntaria á Jehová, Dios de nuestros padres.
29Velad, y guardadlos, hasta que los peséis delante de los príncipes de los sacerdotes y Levitas, y de los jefes de los padres de Israel en Jerusalem, en las cámaras de la casa de Jehová.
30Los sacerdotes pues y Levitas recibieron el peso de la plata y del oro y de los vasos, para traerlo á Jerusalem á la casa de nuestro Dios.
31Y partimos del río de Ahava el doce del mes primero, para ir á Jerusalem: y la mano de nuestro Dios fué sobre nosotros, el cual nos libró de mano de enemigo y de asechador en el camino.
32Y llegamos á Jerusalem, y reposamos allí tres días.
33Al cuarto día fué luego pesada la plata, y el oro, y los vasos, en la casa de nuestro Dios, por mano de Meremoth hijo de Urías sacerdote, y con él Eleazar hijo de Phinees; y con ellos Jozabad hijo de Jesuá, y Noadías hijo de Binnui, Levitas;
34Por cuenta y por peso todo: y se apuntó todo aquel peso en aquel tiempo.
35Los que habían venido de la cautividad, los hijos de la transmigración, ofrecieron holocaustos al Dios de Israel, doce becerros por todo Israel, noventa y seis carneros, setenta y siete corderos, doce machos cabríos por expiación: todo en holocausto á Jehová.
36Y dieron los despachos del rey á sus gobernadores y capitanes del otro lado del río, los cuales favorecieron al pueblo y á la casa de Dios.

1These are now the chief of their fathers, and this is the genealogy of them that went up with me from Babylon, in the reign of Artaxerxes the king.
2Of the sons of Phinehas; Gershom: of the sons of Ithamar; Daniel: of the sons of David; Hattush.
3Of the sons of Shechaniah, of the sons of Pharosh; Zechariah: and with him were reckoned by genealogy of the males an hundred and fifty.
4Of the sons of Pahath-moab; Elihoenai the son of Zerahiah, and with him two hundred males.
5Of the sons of Shechaniah; the son of Jahaziel, and with him three hundred males.
6Of the sons also of Adin; Ebed the son of Jonathan, and with him fifty males.
7And of the sons of Elam; Jeshaiah the son of Athaliah, and with him seventy males.
8And of the sons of Shephatiah; Zebadiah the son of Michael, and with him fourscore males.
9Of the sons of Joab; Obadiah the son of Jehiel, and with him two hundred and eighteen males.
10And of the sons of Shelomith; the son of Josiphiah, and with him an hundred and threescore males.
11And of the sons of Bebai; Zechariah the son of Bebai, and with him twenty and eight males.
12And of the sons of Azgad; Johanan the son of Hakkatan, and with him an hundred and ten males.
13And of the last sons of Adonikam, whose names are these, Eliphelet, Jeiel, and Shemaiah, and with them threescore males.
14Of the sons also of Bigvai; Uthai, and Zabbud, and with them seventy males.
15And I gathered them together to the river that runneth to Ahava; and there abode we in tents three days: and I viewed the people, and the priests, and found there none of the sons of Levi.
16Then sent I for Eliezer, for Ariel, for Shemaiah, and for Elnathan, and for Jarib, and for Elnathan, and for Nathan, and for Zechariah, and for Meshullam, chief men; also for Joiarib, and for Elnathan, men of understanding.
17And I sent them with commandment unto Iddo the chief at the place Casiphia, and I told them what they should say unto Iddo, and to his brethren the Nethinims, at the place Casiphia, that they should bring unto us ministers for the house of our God.
18And by the good hand of our God upon us they brought us a man of understanding, of the sons of Mahli, the son of Levi, the son of Israel; and Sherebiah, with his sons and his brethren, eighteen;
19And Hashabiah, and with him Jeshaiah of the sons of Merari, his brethren and their sons, twenty;
20Also of the Nethinims, whom David and the princes had appointed for the service of the Levites, two hundred and twenty Nethinims: all of them were expressed by name.
21Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance.
22For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him.
23So we fasted and besought our God for this: and he was intreated of us.
24Then I separated twelve of the chief of the priests, Sherebiah, Hashabiah, and ten of their brethren with them,
25And weighed unto them the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, even the offering of the house of our God, which the king, and his counsellors, and his lords, and all Israel there present, had offered:
26I even weighed unto their hand six hundred and fifty talents of silver, and silver vessels an hundred talents, and of gold an hundred talents;
27Also twenty basons of gold, of a thousand drams; and two vessels of fine copper, precious as gold.
28And I said unto them, Ye are holy unto the LORD; the vessels are holy also; and the silver and the gold are a freewill offering unto the LORD God of your fathers.
29Watch ye, and keep them, until ye weigh them before the chief of the priests and the Levites, and chief of the fathers of Israel, at Jerusalem, in the chambers of the house of the LORD.
30So took the priests and the Levites the weight of the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, to bring them to Jerusalem unto the house of our God.
31Then we departed from the river of Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month, to go unto Jerusalem: and the hand of our God was upon us, and he delivered us from the hand of the enemy, and of such as lay in wait by the way.
32And we came to Jerusalem, and abode there three days.
33Now on the fourth day was the silver and the gold and the vessels weighed in the house of our God by the hand of Meremoth the son of Uriah the priest; and with him was Eleazar the son of Phinehas; and with them was Jozabad the son of Jeshua, and Noadiah the son of Binnui, Levites;
34By number and by weight of every one: and all the weight was written at that time.
35Also the children of those that had been carried away, which were come out of the captivity, offered burnt offerings unto the God of Israel, twelve bullocks for all Israel, ninety and six rams, seventy and seven lambs, twelve he goats for a sin offering: all this was a burnt offering unto the LORD.
36And they delivered the king’s commissions unto the king’s lieutenants, and to the governors on this side the river: and they furthered the people, and the house of God.

6Of the sons of Adin, Ebed the son of Jonathan; and with him fifty males.

15I gathered them together to the river that runs to Ahava; and there we encamped three days. Then I looked around at the people and the priests, and found there were none of the sons of Levi.
16Then I sent for Eliezer, for Ariel, for Shemaiah, for Elnathan, for Jarib, for Elnathan, for Nathan, for Zechariah, and for Meshullam, chief men; also for Joiarib and for Elnathan, who were teachers.
17I sent them out to Iddo the chief at the place Casiphia; and I told them what they should tell Iddo and his brothers the temple servants at the place Casiphia, that they should bring to us ministers for the house of our God.
18According to the good hand of our God on us they brought us a man of discretion, of the sons of Mahli, the son of Levi, the son of Israel, namely Sherebiah, with his sons and his brothers, eighteen;
19and Hashabiah, and with him Jeshaiah of the sons of Merari, his brothers and their sons, twenty;
20and of the temple servants, whom David and the princes had given for the service of the Levites, two hundred twenty temple servants. All of them were mentioned by name.
21Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from him a straight way for us, for our little ones, and for all our possessions.
22For I was ashamed to ask of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy on the way, because we had spoken to the king, saying, “The hand of our God is on all those who seek him, for good; but his power and his wrath is against all those who forsake him.”
23So we fasted and begged our God for this, and he granted our request.
24Then I set apart twelve of the chiefs of the priests, even Sherebiah, Hashabiah, and ten of their brothers with them,
25and weighed to them the silver, the gold, and the vessels, even the offering for the house of our God, which the king, his counselors, his princes, and all Israel there present, had offered.
26I weighed into their hand six hundred fifty talents of silver, one hundred talents of silver vessels, one hundred talents of gold,
27twenty bowls of gold weighing one thousand darics, and two vessels of fine bright bronze, precious as gold.
28I said to them, “You are holy to the LORD, and the vessels are holy. The silver and the gold are a free will offering to the LORD, the God of your fathers.
29Watch and keep them until you weigh them before the chiefs of the priests, the Levites, and the princes of the fathers’ households of Israel at Jerusalem, in the rooms of the LORD’s house.”
30So the priests and the Levites received the weight of the silver, the gold, and the vessels, to bring them to Jerusalem to the house of our God.
31Then we departed from the river Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month, to go to Jerusalem. The hand of our God was on us, and he delivered us from the hand of the enemy and the bandits by the way.
32We came to Jerusalem, and stayed there three days.
33On the fourth day the silver and the gold and the vessels were weighed in the house of our God into the hand of Meremoth the son of Uriah the priest; and with him was Eleazar the son of Phinehas; and with them were Jozabad the son of Jeshua, and Noadiah the son of Binnui, the Levites.
34Everything was counted and weighed; and all the weight was written at that time.
35The children of the captivity, who had come out of exile, offered burnt offerings to the God of Israel: twelve bulls for all Israel, ninety-six rams, seventy-seven lambs, and twelve male goats for a sin offering. All this was a burnt offering to the LORD.
36They delivered the king’s commissions to the king’s local governors and to the governors beyond the River. So they supported the people and God’s house.
