Gálatas 2

Luego, después de catorce años, volví a Jerusalén con Bernabé, llevándome a Tito.

DESPUÉS, pasados catorce años, fuí otra vez á Jerusalem juntamente con Bernabé, tomando también conmigo á Tito.

Then fourteen years after I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also.

Then after a period of fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus also with me.

Y subí por revelación; y puse delante de ellos las buenas nuevas que estaba predicando entre los gentiles, pero en privado ante los que eran reconocidos como dirigentes, por lo que el trabajo que yo estaba o había estado haciendo no fuera trabajo perdido.

Empero fuí por revelación, y comuniquéles el evangelio que predico entre los Gentiles; mas particularmente á los que parecían ser algo, por no correr en vano, ó haber corrido.

And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain.

I went up by revelation, and I laid before them the Good News which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately before those who were respected, for fear that I might be running, or had run, in vain.

Pero ni aun Tito, que estaba conmigo, siendo griego, fue sometido a la circuncisión:

Mas ni aun Tito, que estaba conmigo, siendo Griego, fué compelido á circuncidarse.

But neither Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised:

But not even Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised.

Y esto a pesar algunos hermanos falsos que entraron secretamente, los cuales vinieron a espiar nuestra condición libre que tenemos en Cristo Jesús, y hacernos otra vez esclavos a la ley.

Y eso por causa de los falsos hermanos, que se entraban secretamente para espiar nuestra libertad que tenemos en Cristo Jesús, para ponernos en servidumbre;

And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:

This was because of the false brothers secretly brought in, who stole in to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage,

Pero ni por un momento nos sometimos a sus demandas; para que las verdaderas palabras del mensaje del evangelio permanecieran en ustedes.

A los cuales ni aun por una hora cedimos sujetándonos, para que la verdad del evangelio permaneciese con vosotros.

To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.

to whom we gave no place in the way of subjection, not for an hour, that the truth of the Good News might continue with you.

Pero de aquellos que parecían ser importantes (lo que sea que hayan sido no me importa : Dios no juzga por las apariencias ) aquellos que parecían importantes no me dieron nada nuevo.

Empero de aquellos que parecían ser algo (cuáles hayan sido algún tiempo, no tengo que ver; Dios no acepta apariencia de hombre), á mí ciertamente los que parecían ser algo, nada me dieron.

But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man’s person:) for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me:

But from those who were reputed to be important—whatever they were, it makes no difference to me; God doesn’t show partiality to man—they, I say, who were respected imparted nothing to me,

Pero, por el contrario, cuando vieron que yo había sido hecho responsable de predicar el mensaje de salvación a los gentiles, como lo había sido Pedro con los judíos.

Antes por el contrario, como vieron que el evangelio de la incircuncisión me era encargado, como á Pedro el de la circuncisión,

But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;

but to the contrary, when they saw that I had been entrusted with the Good News for the uncircumcised, even as Peter with the Good News for the circumcised—

Porque el que estaba trabajando en Pedro como el Apóstol de la circuncisión estaba trabajando en mí entre los gentiles;

(Porque el que hizo por Pedro para el apostolado de la circuncisión, hizo también por mí para con los Gentiles;)

(For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:)

for he who worked through Peter in the apostleship with the circumcised also worked through me with the Gentiles—

Cuando vieron la gracia que me fue dada, Jacobo, Pedro y Juan, que tenían el nombre de ser columnas, nos dieron a Bernabé y a Mí sus manos derechas como amigos para que fuéramos a los gentiles, y ellos a los de la circuncisión;

Y como vieron la gracia que me era dada, Jacobo y Cefas y Juan, que parecían ser las columnas, nos dieron las diestras de compañía á mí y á Bernabé, para que nosotros fuésemos á los Gentiles, y ellos á la circuncisión.

And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.

and when they perceived the grace that was given to me, James and Cephas and John, those who were reputed to be pillars, gave to Barnabas and me the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the circumcision.

Solo que era su deseo que pensáramos en los pobres; qué cosa tenía en mente hacer con diligencia.

Solamente nos pidieron que nos acordásemos de los pobres; lo mismo que fuí también solícito en hacer.

Only they would that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was forward to do.

They only asked us to remember the poor—which very thing I was also zealous to do.

Pero cuando Cefas llegó a Antioquía, hice una protesta contra él en su cara, porque él claramente estaba equivocado.

Empero viniendo Pedro á Antioquía, le resistí en la cara, porque era de condenar.

But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.

But when Peter came to Antioch, I resisted him to his face, because he stood condemned.

Porque antes que vinieran algunos hombres de parte de Jacobo, él comió con los gentiles; mas cuando vinieron, volvió y se separó, temiendo a los que eran de la circuncisión.

Porque antes que viniesen unos de parte de Jacobo, comía con los Gentiles; mas después que vinieron, se retraía y apartaba, teniendo miedo de los que eran de la circuncisión.

For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision.

For before some people came from James, he ate with the Gentiles. But when they came, he drew back and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision.

Y el resto de los judíos lo siguieron, y Bernabé fue vencido por la hipocresía de ellos.

Y á su disimulación consentían también los otros Judíos; de tal manera que aun Bernabé fué también llevado de ellos en su simulación.

And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation.

And the rest of the Jews joined him in his hypocrisy, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy.

Pero cuando vi que no estaban viviendo en rectitud de acuerdo con las verdaderas palabras de las buenas nuevas, le dije a Pedro delante de todos, si tú, siendo judío, estás viviendo como los gentiles, y no como los judíos, ¿cómo? harás que los gentiles hagan lo mismo que los judíos?

Mas cuando vi que no andaban derechamente conforme á la verdad del evangelio, dije á Pedro delante de todos: Si tú, siendo Judío, vives como los Gentiles y no como Judío, ¿por qué constriñes á los Gentiles á judaizar?

But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?

But when I saw that they didn’t walk uprightly according to the truth of the Good News, I said to Peter before them all, “If you, being a Jew, live as the Gentiles do, and not as the Jews do, why do you compel the Gentiles to live as the Jews do?

Nosotros siendo judíos de nacimiento, y no pecadores de entre los gentiles,

Nosotros Judíos naturales, y no pecadores de los Gentiles,

We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,

“We, being Jews by nature and not Gentile sinners,

Siendo conscientes de que un hombre no es justificado por las obras de la ley, sino por la fe en Jesucristo, tuvimos fe en Cristo Jesús, para que podamos ser justificados por la fe en Cristo, y no por las obras de la ley; porque por las obras de la ley nadie será justificado.

Sabiendo que el hombre no es justificado por las obras de la ley, sino por la fe de Jesucristo, nosotros también hemos creído en Jesucristo, para que fuésemos justificados por la fe de Cristo, y no por las obras de la ley; por cuanto por las obras de la ley ninguna carne será justificada.

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

yet knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because no flesh will be justified by the works of the law.

Pero si, mientras deseábamos ser justificados por medio de Cristo, nosotros mismos fuimos vistos como pecadores, ¿es Cristo un ministro de pecado? ¡De ninguna manera!

Y si buscando nosotros ser justificados en Cristo, también nosotros somos hallados pecadores, ¿es por eso Cristo ministro de pecado? En ninguna manera.

But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.

But if while we sought to be justified in Christ, we ourselves also were found sinners, is Christ a servant of sin? Certainly not!

Porque si volví a poner en pie aquellas cosas que entregué a destrucción, yo mismo soy culpable, me hace transgresor.

Porque si las cosas que destruí, las mismas vuelvo á edificar, transgresor me hago.

For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.

For if I build up again those things which I destroyed, I prove myself a law-breaker.

Porque yo, por la ley, soy muerto a la ley, para que viva a Dios.

Porque yo por la ley soy muerto á la ley, para vivir á Dios.

For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.

For I through the law died to the law, that I might live to God.

He sido muerto en la cruz con Cristo; y ya no vivo yo, sino que Cristo vive en mí; y esa vida que ahora vivo en la carne, la he vivido por la fe, la fe del Hijo de Dios, quien en amor por mí, se entregó a sí mismo por mí.

Con Cristo estoy juntamente crucificado, y vivo, no ya yo, mas vive Cristo en mí: y lo que ahora vivo en la carne, lo vivo en la fe del Hijo de Dios, el cual me amó, y se entregó á sí mismo por mí.

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself up for me.

No rechazo la gracia de Dios; porque si fuéramos justificados por la ley, entonces Cristo fue muerto en vano.

No desecho la gracia de Dios: porque si por la ley fuese la justicia, entonces por demás murió Cristo.

I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

I don’t reject the grace of God. For if righteousness is through the law, then Christ died for nothing!”
