1Ó insensatos gálatas, quem vos iludiu para não obedecerdes à verdade? Diante dos vossos olhos Jesus Cristo foi retratado entre vós como crucificado!
2Só isto eu queria saber de vós: recebestes o Espírito pelas obras da Lei ou pela pregação da fé?
3Sois vós tão insensatos que, depois de começardes no Espírito, agora terminareis na carne?
4Experimentastes tantas coisas em vão? Se é que foi mesmo em vão!
5Ora, aquele que vos dá o Espírito e que opera maravilhas entre vós faz isso por causa das obras da Lei ou da pregação da fé?
6Assim como “Abraão creu em Deus, e foi lhe reputado como justiça”, Gênesis 15:6
7entendei, pois, que os que são da fé são filhos de Abraão.
8E a Escritura, prevendo que Deus justificaria os gentios pela fé, prenunciou o Evangelho a Abraão, dizendo : Todas nas nações serão abençoadas em ti. Gênesis 12:3; 18:18; 22:18
9Portanto, os que são da fé são abençoados com o crente Abraão.
10Pois todos os que são das obras da Lei estão sob maldição, porque está escrito: Maldito todo aquele que não permanecer em todas as coisas que estão escritas no livro da Lei, para fazê-las. Deuteronômio 27:26
11E é evidente que pela Lei ninguém será justificado, porque: O justo viverá pela fé. Habacuque 2:4
12A Lei não provém da fé; porém: Quem fizer estas coisas por elas viverá.
13Cristo nos resgatou da maldição da Lei ao se fazer maldição para o nosso benefício (pois está escrito: Maldito todo aquele que for pendurado em um madeiro.) Deuteronômio 21:23
14com a finalidade de que a bênção de Abraão chegasse aos gentios em Cristo Jesus, para que recebêssemos a promessa do Espírito por meio da fé.
15Irmãos, estou falando em termos humanos: ainda que seja o pacto de uma pessoa, depois de confirmado, ninguém o anula, nem lhe acrescenta.
16Ora, as promessas foram ditas a Abraão e à sua descendência. E não diz: “E às descendências” como que falando de muitos, mas sim como a um: “E à tua descendência”, Gênesis 12:7; 13:15; 24:7 que é Cristo.
17Mas digo isto: o pacto foi confirmado anteriormente por Deus em Cristo; e a Lei que veio quatrocentos e trinta anos depois não o invalida de maneira que anule a promessa.
18Pois, se a herança é pela Lei, já não é pela promessa; mas foi por meio da promessa que Deus a concedeu gratuitamente a Abraão.
19Para que, pois, é a Lei? Ela foi ordenada por causa das transgressões, até que chegasse o descendente a quem a promessa havia sido feita; e foi posta pelos anjos na mão de um mediador.
20Ora, o mediador não é de um só, mas Deus é um.
21Acaso, pois, a Lei é contra as promessas de Deus? De maneira nenhuma! Pois, se a Lei houvesse sido entregue para que pudesse dar vida, na verdade a justiça teria sido pela Lei.
22Mas a Escritura prendeu tudo debaixo do pecado a fim de que a promessa fosse dada aos crentes por meio da fé em Jesus Cristo.
23Porém, antes que a fé viesse, estávamos vigiados sob a Lei, e presos, até que a fé fosse revelada.
24Dessa maneira, a Lei foi nosso tutor em condução a Cristo, para que pela fé fossemos justificados.
25Mas depois que a fé chegou, já não estamos mais sob um tutor,
26pois todos vós sois filhos de Deus por meio da fé em Cristo Jesus;
27pois todos vós que fostes batizados em Cristo já vos revestistes de Cristo.
28Assim, não há judeu nem grego; não há servo nem livre; não há macho nem fêmea. Pois todos vós sois um em Cristo Jesus.
29E, se vós sois de Cristo, então sois descendência de Abraão, e herdeiros conforme a promessa.

1¡OH Gálatas insensatos! ¿quién os fascinó, para no obedecer á la verdad, ante cuyos ojos Jesucristo fué ya descrito como crucificado entre vosotros?
2Esto solo quiero saber de vosotros: ¿Recibisteis el Espíritu por las obras de la ley, ó por el oir de la fe?
3¿Tan necios sois? ¿habiendo comenzado por el Espíritu, ahora os perfeccionáis por la carne?
4¿Tantas cosas habéis padecido en vano? si empero en vano.
5Aquel, pues, que os daba el Espíritu, y obraba maravillas entre vosotros ¿hacíalo por las obras de la ley, ó por el oir de la fe?
6Como Abraham creyó á Dios, y le fué imputado á justicia.
7Sabéis por tanto, que los que son de fe, los tales son hijos de Abraham.
8Y viendo antes la Escritura que Dios por la fe había de justificar á los Gentiles, evangelizó antes á Abraham, diciendo: En ti serán benditas todas las naciones.
9Luego los de la fe son benditos con el creyente Abraham.
10Porque todos los que son de las obras de la ley, están bajo de maldición. Porque escrito está: Maldito todo aquel que no permaneciere en todas las cosas que están escritas en el libro de la ley, para hacerlas.
11Mas por cuanto por la ley ninguno se justifica para con Dios, queda manifiesto: Que el justo por la fe vivirá.
12La ley también no es de la fe; sino, El hombre que los hiciere, vivirá en ellos.
13Cristo nos redimió de la maldición de la ley, hecho por nosotros maldición; (porque está escrito: Maldito cualquiera que es colgado en madero:)
14Para que la bendición de Abraham fuese sobre los Gentiles en Cristo Jesús; para que por la fe recibamos la promesa del Espíritu.
15Hermanos, hablo como hombre: Aunque un pacto sea de hombre, con todo, siendo confirmado, nadie lo cancela, ó le añade.
16A Abraham fueron hechas las promesas, y á su simiente. No dice: Y á las simientes, como de muchos; sino como de uno: Y á tu simiente, la cual es Cristo.
17Esto pues digo: Que el contrato confirmado de Dios para con Cristo, la ley que fué hecha cuatrocientos treinta años después, no lo abroga, para invalidar la promesa.
18Porque si la herencia es por la ley, ya no es por la promesa: empero Dios por la promesa hizo la donación á Abraham.
19¿Pues de qué sirve la ley? Fué puesta por causa de las rebeliones, hasta que viniese la simiente á quien fué hecha la promesa, ordenada aquélla por los ángeles en la mano de un mediador.
20Y el mediador no es de uno, pero Dios es uno.
21¿Luego la ley es contra las promesas de Dios? En ninguna manera: porque si la ley dada pudiera vivificar, la justicia fuera verdaderamente por la ley.
22Mas encerró la Escritura todo bajo pecado, para que la promesa fuese dada á los creyentes por la fe de Jesucristo.
23Empero antes que viniese la fe, estábamos guardados bajo la ley, encerrados para aquella fe que había de ser descubierta.
24De manera que la ley nuestro ayo fué para llevarnos á Cristo, para que fuésemos justificados por la fe.
25Mas venida la fe, ya no estamos bajo ayo;
26Porque todos sois hijos de Dios por la fe en Cristo Jesús.
27Porque todos los que habéis sido bautizados en Cristo, de Cristo estáis vestidos.
28No hay Judío, ni Griego; no hay siervo, ni libre; no hay varón, ni hembra: porque todos vosotros sois uno en Cristo Jesús.
29Y si vosotros sois de Cristo, ciertamente la simiente de Abraham sois, y conforme á la promesa los herederos.

1O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
2This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
3Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
4Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.
5He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
6Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
7Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
8And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
9So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
10For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
11But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
12And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
13Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
15Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man’s covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.
16Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
17And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.
18For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
19Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
20Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.
21Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.
22But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
23But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
24Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
26For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
27For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
29And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

1Foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you not to obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was openly portrayed among you as crucified?
2I just want to learn this from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?
3Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now completed in the flesh?
4Did you suffer so many things in vain, if it is indeed in vain?
5He therefore who supplies the Spirit to you and does miracles among you, does he do it by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?
6Even so, Abraham “believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness.”
7Know therefore that those who are of faith are children of Abraham.
8The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the Good News beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you all the nations will be blessed.”
9So then, those who are of faith are blessed with the faithful Abraham.
10For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who doesn’t continue in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them.”
11Now that no man is justified by the law before God is evident, for, “The righteous will live by faith.”
12The law is not of faith, but, “The man who does them will live by them.”

14that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
15Brothers, speaking of human terms, though it is only a man’s covenant, yet when it has been confirmed, no one makes it void or adds to it.
16Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his offspring. He doesn’t say, “To descendants”, as of many, but as of one, “To your offspring”, which is Christ.
17Now I say this: A covenant confirmed beforehand by God in Christ, the law, which came four hundred thirty years after, does not annul, so as to make the promise of no effect.
18For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no more of promise; but God has granted it to Abraham by promise.
19Then why is there the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the offspring should come to whom the promise has been made. It was ordained through angels by the hand of a mediator.
20Now a mediator is not between one, but God is one.
21Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could make alive, most certainly righteousness would have been of the law.
22But the Scripture imprisoned all things under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
23But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, confined for the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
24So that the law has become our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.
26For you are all children of God, through faith in Christ Jesus.
27For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
29If you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring and heirs according to promise.
