Or io dico: Fin tanto che l’erede è fanciullo, non differisce in nulla dal servo, benché sia padrone di tutto;
TAMBIÉN digo: Entre tanto que el heredero es niño, en nada difiere del siervo, aunque es señor de todo;
Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
But I say that so long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a bondservant, though he is lord of all,
ma è sotto tutori e curatori fino al tempo prestabilito dal padre.
Mas está debajo de tutores y curadores hasta el tiempo señalado por el padre.
But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.
but is under guardians and stewards until the day appointed by the father.
Così anche noi, quando eravamo fanciulli, eravamo tenuti in servitù sotto gli elementi del mondo;
Así también nosotros, cuando éramos niños, éramos siervos bajo los rudimentos del mundo.
Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
So we also, when we were children, were held in bondage under the elemental principles of the world.
ma quando giunse la pienezza de’ tempi, Iddio mandò il suo Figliuolo, nato di donna, nato sotto la legge,
Mas venido el cumplimiento del tiempo, Dios envió su Hijo, hecho de mujer, hecho súbdito á la ley,
But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
But when the fullness of the time came, God sent out his Son, born to a woman, born under the law,
per riscattare quelli che erano sotto la legge, affinché noi ricevessimo l’adozione di figliuoli.
Para que redimiese á los que estaban debajo de la ley, á fin de que recibiésemos la adopción de hijos.
To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
that he might redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as children.
E perché siete figliuoli, Dio ha mandato lo Spirito del suo Figliuolo nei nostri cuori, che grida: Abba, Padre.
Y por cuanto sois hijos, Dios envió el Espíritu de su Hijo en vuestros corazones, el cual clama: Abba, Padre.
And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
And because you are children, God sent out the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!”
Talché tu non sei più servo, ma figliuolo; e se sei figliuolo, sei anche erede per grazia di Dio.
Así que ya no eres más siervo, sino hijo; y si hijo, también heredero de Dios por Cristo.
Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
So you are no longer a bondservant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
In quel tempo, è vero, non avendo conoscenza di Dio, voi avete servito a quelli che per natura non sono dèi;
Antes, en otro tiempo, no conociendo á Dios, servíais á los que por naturaleza no son dioses:
Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.
However at that time, not knowing God, you were in bondage to those who by nature are not gods.
ma ora che avete conosciuto Dio, o piuttosto che siete stati conosciuti da Dio, come mai vi rivolgete di nuovo ai deboli e poveri elementi, ai quali volete di bel nuovo ricominciare a servire?
Mas ahora, habiendo conocido á Dios, ó más bien, siendo conocidos de Dios, ¿cómo os volvéis de nuevo á los flacos y pobres rudimentos, en los cuales queréis volver á servir?
But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, why do you turn back again to the weak and miserable elemental principles, to which you desire to be in bondage all over again?
Voi osservate giorni e mesi e stagioni ed anni.
Guardáis los días, y los meses, y los tiempos, y los años.
Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.
You observe days, months, seasons, and years.
Io temo, quanto a voi, d’essermi invano affaticato per voi.
Temo de vosotros, que no haya trabajado en vano en vosotros.
I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.
I am afraid for you, that I might have wasted my labor for you.
Siate come son io, fratelli, ve ne prego, perché anch’io sono come voi.
Hermanos, os ruego, sed como yo, porque yo soy como vosotros: ningún agravio me habéis hecho.
Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am; for I am as ye are: ye have not injured me at all.
I beg you, brothers, become as I am, for I also have become as you are. You did me no wrong,
Voi non mi faceste alcun torto; anzi sapete bene che fu a motivo di una infermità della carne che vi evangelizzai la prima volta;
Que vosotros sabéis que por flaqueza de carne os anuncié el evangelio al principio:
Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first.
but you know that because of weakness in the flesh I preached the Good News to you the first time.
e quella mia infermità corporale che era per voi una prova, voi non la sprezzaste né l’aveste a schifo; al contrario, mi accoglieste come un angelo di Dio, come Cristo Gesù stesso.
Y no desechasteis ni menospreciasteis mi tentación que estaba en mi carne: antes me recibisteis como á un ángel de Dios, como á Cristo Jesús.
And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.
That which was a temptation to you in my flesh, you didn’t despise nor reject; but you received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.
Dove son dunque le vostre proteste di gioia? Poiché io vi rendo questa testimonianza: che, se fosse stato possibile, vi sareste cavati gli occhi e me li avreste dati.
¿Dónde está pues vuestra bienaventuranza? porque yo os doy testimonio que si se pudiera hacer, os hubierais sacado vuestros ojos para dármelos.
Where is then the blessedness ye spake of? for I bear you record, that, if it had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me.
What was the blessing you enjoyed? For I testify to you that, if possible, you would have plucked out your eyes and given them to me.
Son io dunque divenuto vostro nemico dicendovi la verità?
¿Heme pues hecho vuestro enemigo, diciéndoos la verdad?
Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?
So then, have I become your enemy by telling you the truth?
Costoro son zelanti di voi, ma non per fini onesti; anzi vi vogliono staccare da noi perché il vostro zelo si volga a loro.
Tienen celos de vosotros, pero no bien: antes os quieren echar fuera para que vosotros los celéis á ellos.
They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them.
They zealously seek you in no good way. No, they desire to alienate you, that you may seek them.
Or è una bella cosa essere oggetto dello zelo altrui nel bene, in ogni tempo, e non solo quando son presente fra voi.
Bueno es ser celosos en bien siempre; y no solamente cuando estoy presente con vosotros.
But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing, and not only when I am present with you.
But it is always good to be zealous in a good cause, and not only when I am present with you.
Figliuoletti miei, per i quali io son di nuovo in doglie finché Cristo sia formato in voi,
Hijitos míos, que vuelvo otra vez á estar de parto de vosotros, hasta que Cristo sea formado en vosotros;
My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,
My little children, of whom I am again in travail until Christ is formed in you—
oh come vorrei essere ora presente fra voi e cambiar tono perché son perplesso riguardo a voi!
Querría cierto estar ahora con vosotros, y mudar mi voz; porque estoy perplejo en cuanto á vosotros.
I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you.
but I could wish to be present with you now, and to change my tone, for I am perplexed about you.
Ditemi: Voi che volete esser sotto la legge, non ascoltate voi la legge?
Decidme, los que queréis estar debajo de la ley, ¿no habéis oído la ley?
Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?
Tell me, you that desire to be under the law, don’t you listen to the law?
Poiché sta scritto che Abramo ebbe due figliuoli: uno dalla schiava, e uno dalla donna libera;
Porque escrito está que Abraham tuvo dos hijos; uno de la sierva, el otro de la libre.
For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.
For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the servant, and one by the free woman.
ma quello dalla schiava nacque secondo la carne; mentre quello dalla libera nacque in virtù della promessa.
Mas el de la sierva nació según la carne; pero el de la libre nació por la promesa.
But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.
However, the son by the servant was born according to the flesh, but the son by the free woman was born through promise.
Le quali cose hanno un senso allegorico; poiché queste donne sono due patti, l’uno, del monte Sinai, genera per la schiavitù, ed è Agar.
Las cuales cosas son dichas por alegoría: porque estas mujeres son los dos pactos; el uno ciertamente del monte Sinaí, el cual engendró para servidumbre, que es Agar.
Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.
These things contain an allegory, for these are two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai, bearing children to bondage, which is Hagar.
Infatti Agar è il monte Sinai in Arabia, e corrisponde alla Gerusalemme del tempo presente, la quale è schiava coi suoi figliuoli.
Porque Agar ó Sinaí es un monte de Arabia, el cual es conjunto á la que ahora es Jerusalem, la cual sirve con sus hijos.
For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.
For this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and answers to the Jerusalem that exists now, for she is in bondage with her children.
Ma la Gerusalemme di sopra è libera, ed essa è nostra madre.
Mas la Jerusalem de arriba libre es; la cual es la madre de todos nosotros.
But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

Poich’egli è scritto: Rallegrati, o sterile che non partorivi! Prorompi in grida, tu che non avevi sentito doglie di parto! Poiché i figliuoli dell’abbandonata saranno più numerosi di quelli di colei che aveva il marito.
Porque está escrito: Alégrate, estéril, que no pares: prorrumpe y clama, la que no estás de parto; porque más son los hijos de la dejada, que de la que tiene marido.
For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.
For it is written, “Rejoice, you barren who don’t bear. Break out and shout, you who don’t travail. For the desolate women have more children than her who has a husband.”
Ora voi, fratelli, siete figliuoli della promessa alla maniera d’Isacco.
Así que, hermanos, nosotros como Isaac somos hijos de la promesa.
Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.

Ma come allora colui ch’era nato secondo la carne perseguitava il nato secondo lo Spirito, così succede anche ora.
Empero como entonces el que era engendrado según la carne, perseguía al que había nacido según el Espíritu, así también ahora.
But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

Ma che dice la Scrittura? Caccia via la schiava e il suo figliuolo; perché il figliuolo della schiava non sarà erede col figliuolo della libera.
Mas ¿qué dice la Escritura? Echa fuera á la sierva y á su hijo; porque no será heredero el hijo de la sierva con el hijo de la libre.
Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.
However, what does the Scripture say? “Throw out the servant and her son, for the son of the servant will not inherit with the son of the free woman.”
Perciò, fratelli, noi non siamo figliuoli della schiava, ma della libera.
De manera, hermanos, que no somos hijos de la sierva, mas de la libre.
So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.
So then, brothers, we are not children of a servant, but of the free woman.
