1Y él Señor vino a Sara como él le había dicho, y le hizo como había hecho.
2Y Sara se embarazó, y le dio a Abraham un hijo cuando era viejo, en el tiempo señalado por Dios.
3Y Abraham dio a su hijo, a quien Sara dio a luz, el nombre Isaac.
4Y cuando su hijo Isaac tenía ocho días, Abraham lo hizo sufrir la circuncisión, como Dios le había dicho.
5Ahora Abraham tenía cien años cuando tuvo lugar el nacimiento de Isaac.
6Y Sara dijo: Dios me ha dado motivo para reír, y todos los que tengan noticias de ello se reirán de mí.
7Y ella dijo: ¿Quién le hubiera dicho a Abraham que Sara tendría un hijo en su pecho? le he dado un hijo ahora cuando él es viejo.
8Y cuando el niño tuvo la edad suficiente para ser quitado del pecho, Abraham hizo una gran fiesta.
9Y Sara vio al hijo de Agar el egipcio burlándose de Isaac.
10Entonces ella dijo a Abraham: Envía a esa mujer y a su hijo, porque el hijo de esa mujer no tendrá parte en el patrimonio con mi hijo Isaac.
11Y esta fue una gran pena para Abraham a causa de su hijo.
12Pero Dios dijo: No te aflijas por causa del niño y Agar su madre; escucha lo que Sara te diga, porque es de Isaac que tu semilla tomará su nombre.
13Y haré una nación del hijo de tu sierva, porque él es tu simiente.
14Y levantándose de mañana Abraham se levantó, y dio a Agar un pan y un odre de agua, y puso al niño sobre sus espaldas, y la despidió; y ella fue, vagando por la tierra asolada de Beerseba.
15Y cuando todo el agua en el odre se agotó, ella puso al niño debajo de un árbol.
16Y ella se alejó, a una buena distancia, y sentándose en la tierra, se puso a llorar amargamente, diciendo: No vea la muerte de mi hijo.
17Y el clamor del niño llegó a oídos de Dios; y el ángel de Dios dijo a Agar del cielo: Agar, ¿por qué lloras? no tengas miedo, porque el llanto del niño ha llegado a los oídos de Dios.
18Ven, toma a tu hijo en tus brazos, porque haré de él una gran nación.
19Entonces Dios abrió sus ojos, y ella vio un manantial de agua, y ella llenó de agua el odre y le dio de beber al niño.
20Y Dios estaba con el niño, y se hizo alto y fuerte, y se hizo arquero, viviendo en la tierra baldía.
21Y estando él en el desierto de Parán, su madre le tomó mujer de la tierra de Egipto.
22En aquel tiempo, Abimelec y Ficol, el capitán de su ejército, le dijeron a Abraham: Veo que Dios está contigo en todo lo que haces.
23Ahora, pues, dame tu juramento, en el nombre de Dios, que no me harás mal a mí ni a mis hijos después de mí, sino que como he sido bueno contigo, serás para mí. y a esta tierra donde has estado viviendo.
24Y Abraham dijo: Te daré mi juramento.
25Pero Abraham protestó a Abimelec por causa de un pozo de agua que los siervos de Abimelec tomaron por la fuerza.
26Pero Abimelec dijo: No tengo idea de quién ha hecho esto; nunca me lo dijiste, y no lo sabía hasta el día de hoy.
27Y Abraham tomó ovejas y vacas, y se los dio a Abimelec, y los dos juntos hicieron pacto.
28Y Abraham puso aparte de un lado siete corderos del rebaño.
29Entonces Abimelec dijo: ¿Qué son estos siete corderos que has puesto de un lado?
30Y él dijo: Tomarás estos siete corderos, para que sean testigos de que hice este pozo de agua.
31Y le dio el nombre de Beer-seba, porque allí los dos habían prestado juramento.
32Entonces se pusieron de acuerdo en Beerseba, y Abimelec y Ficol, capitán de su ejército, volvieron a la tierra de los filisteos.
33Y Abraham, después de plantar un árbol santo en Beerseba, adoró el nombre del Señor, el Eterno Dios.
34Y Abraham vivió en la tierra de los filisteos como en tierra extraña.

1Y VISITÓ Jehová á Sara, como había dicho, é hizo Jehová con Sara como había hablado.
2Y concibió y parió Sara á Abraham un hijo en su vejez, en el tiempo que Dios le había dicho.
3Y llamó Abraham el nombre de su hijo que le nació, que le parió Sara, Isaac.
4Y circuncidó Abraham á su hijo Isaac de ocho días, como Dios le había mandado.
5Y era Abraham de cien años, cuando le nació Isaac su hijo.
6Entonces dijo Sara: Dios me ha hecho reir, y cualquiera que lo oyere, se reirá conmigo.
7Y añadió: ¿Quién dijera á Abraham que Sara había de dar de mamar á hijos? pues que le he parido un hijo á su vejez.
8Y creció el niño, y fué destetado; é hizo Abraham gran banquete el día que fué destetado Isaac.
9Y vió Sara al hijo de Agar la Egipcia, el cual había ésta parido á Abraham, que se burlaba.
10Por tanto dijo á Abraham: Echa á esta sierva y á su hijo; que el hijo de esta sierva no ha de heredar con mi hijo, con Isaac.
11Este dicho pareció grave en gran manera á Abraham á causa de su hijo.
12Entonces dijo Dios á Abraham: No te parezca grave á causa del muchacho y de tu sierva; en todo lo que te dijere Sara, oye su voz, porque en Isaac te será llamada descendencia.
13Y también al hijo de la sierva pondré en gente, porque es tu simiente.
14Entonces Abraham se levantó muy de mañana, y tomó pan, y un odre de agua, y diólo á Agar, poniéndolo sobre su hombro, y entrególe el muchacho, y despidióla. Y ella partió, y andaba errante por el desierto de Beer-seba.
15Y faltó el agua del odre, y echó al muchacho debajo de un árbol;
16Y fuése y sentóse enfrente, alejándose como un tiro de arco; porque decía: No veré cuando el muchacho morirá: y sentóse enfrente, y alzó su voz y lloró.
17Y oyó Dios la voz del muchacho; y el ángel de Dios llamó á Agar desde el cielo, y le dijo: ¿Qué tienes, Agar? No temas; porque Dios ha oído la voz del muchacho en donde está.
18Levántate, alza al muchacho, y ásele de tu mano, porque en gran gente lo tengo de poner.
19Entonces abrió Dios sus ojos, y vió una fuente de agua; y fué, y llenó el odre de agua, y dió de beber al muchacho.
20Y fué Dios con el muchacho; y creció, y habitó en el desierto, y fué tirador de arco.
21Y habitó en el desierto de Parán; y su madre le tomó mujer de la tierra de Egipto.
22Y aconteció en aquel mismo tiempo que habló Abimelech, y Phicol, príncipe de su ejército, á Abraham diciendo: Dios es contigo en todo cuanto haces:
23Ahora pues, júrame aquí por Dios, que no faltarás á mí, ni á mi hijo, ni á mi nieto; sino que conforme á la bondad que yo hice contigo, harás tú conmigo, y con la tierra donde has peregrinado.
24Y respondió Abraham: Yo juraré.
25Y Abraham reconvino á Abimelech á causa de un pozo de agua, que los siervos de Abimelech le habían quitado.
26Y respondió Abimelech: No sé quién haya hecho esto, ni tampoco tú me lo hiciste saber, ni yo lo he oído hasta hoy.
27Y tomó Abraham ovejas y vacas, y dió á Abimelech; é hicieron ambos alianza.
28Y puso Abraham siete corderas del rebaño aparte.
29Y dijo Abimelech á Abraham: ¿Qué significan esas siete corderas que has puesto aparte?
30Y él respondió: Que estas siete corderas tomarás de mi mano, para que me sean en testimonio de que yo cavé este pozo.
31Por esto llamó á aquel lugar Beer-seba; porque allí juraron ambos.
32Así hicieron alianza en Beer-seba: y levantóse Abimelech, y Phicol, príncipe de su ejército, y se volvieron á tierra de los Filisteos.
33Y plantó Abraham un bosque en Beer-seba, é invocó allí el nombre de Jehová Dios eterno.
34Y moró Abraham en tierra de los Filisteos muchos días.

1And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken.
2For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
3And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.
4And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him.
5And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.
6And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.
7And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age.
8And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned.
9And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking.
10Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.
11And the thing was very grievous in Abraham’s sight because of his son.
12And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.
13And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.
14And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beer-sheba.
15And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs.
16And she went, and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a bowshot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against him, and lift up her voice, and wept.
17And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.
18Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation.
19And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.
20And God was with the lad; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer.
21And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran: and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.
22And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech and Phichol the chief captain of his host spake unto Abraham, saying, God is with thee in all that thou doest:
23Now therefore swear unto me here by God that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son’s son: but according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned.
24And Abraham said, I will swear.
25And Abraham reproved Abimelech because of a well of water, which Abimelech’s servants had violently taken away.
26And Abimelech said, I wot not who hath done this thing: neither didst thou tell me, neither yet heard I of it, but to day.
27And Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them unto Abimelech; and both of them made a covenant.
28And Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.
29And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What mean these seven ewe lambs which thou hast set by themselves?
30And he said, For these seven ewe lambs shalt thou take of my hand, that they may be a witness unto me, that I have digged this well.
31Wherefore he called that place Beer-sheba; because there they sware both of them.
32Thus they made a covenant at Beer-sheba: then Abimelech rose up, and Phichol the chief captain of his host, and they returned into the land of the Philistines.
33And Abraham planted a grove in Beer-sheba, and called there on the name of the LORD, the everlasting God.
34And Abraham sojourned in the Philistines’ land many days.

1The LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did to Sarah as he had spoken.
2Sarah conceived, and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
3Abraham called his son who was born to him, whom Sarah bore to him, Isaac.
4Abraham circumcised his son, Isaac, when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him.
5Abraham was one hundred years old when his son, Isaac, was born to him.
6Sarah said, “God has made me laugh. Everyone who hears will laugh with me.”
7She said, “Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? For I have borne him a son in his old age.”
8The child grew and was weaned. Abraham made a great feast on the day that Isaac was weaned.
9Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had borne to Abraham, mocking.
10Therefore she said to Abraham, “Cast out this servant and her son! For the son of this servant will not be heir with my son, Isaac.”
11The thing was very grievous in Abraham’s sight on account of his son.
12God said to Abraham, “Don’t let it be grievous in your sight because of the boy, and because of your servant. In all that Sarah says to you, listen to her voice. For your offspring will be named through Isaac.
13I will also make a nation of the son of the servant, because he is your child.”
14Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread and a container of water, and gave it to Hagar, putting it on her shoulder; and gave her the child, and sent her away. She departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.
15The water in the container was spent, and she put the child under one of the shrubs.
16She went and sat down opposite him, a good way off, about a bow shot away. For she said, “Don’t let me see the death of the child.” She sat opposite him, and lifted up her voice, and wept.
17God heard the voice of the boy. The angel of God called to Hagar out of the sky, and said to her, “What troubles you, Hagar? Don’t be afraid. For God has heard the voice of the boy where he is.
18Get up, lift up the boy, and hold him with your hand. For I will make him a great nation.”
19God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. She went, filled the container with water, and gave the boy a drink.
20God was with the boy, and he grew. He lived in the wilderness, and as he grew up, he became an archer.
21He lived in the wilderness of Paran. His mother got a wife for him out of the land of Egypt.
22At that time, Abimelech and Phicol the captain of his army spoke to Abraham, saying, “God is with you in all that you do.
23Now, therefore, swear to me here by God that you will not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son’s son. But according to the kindness that I have done to you, you shall do to me, and to the land in which you have lived as a foreigner.”
24Abraham said, “I will swear.”
25Abraham complained to Abimelech because of a water well, which Abimelech’s servants had violently taken away.
26Abimelech said, “I don’t know who has done this thing. You didn’t tell me, and I didn’t hear of it until today.”
27Abraham took sheep and cattle, and gave them to Abimelech. Those two made a covenant.
28Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.
29Abimelech said to Abraham, “What do these seven ewe lambs, which you have set by themselves, mean?”
30He said, “You shall take these seven ewe lambs from my hand, that it may be a witness to me, that I have dug this well.”
31Therefore he called that place Beersheba, because they both swore an oath there.
32So they made a covenant at Beersheba. Abimelech rose up with Phicol, the captain of his army, and they returned into the land of the Philistines.
33Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called on the name of the LORD, the Everlasting God.
34Abraham lived as a foreigner in the land of the Philistines many days.
