1OR, dopo queste cose, avvenne che il coppiere del re di Egitto, e il panatiere, peccarono contro al re di Egitto, lor signore.
2E Faraone si crucciò gravemente contro a que' suoi due Eunuchi, cioè: contro al coppier maggiore, e contro al panattier maggiore.
3E li fece mettere in prigione in casa del Capitan delle guardie, nel Torrione, nello stesso luogo ove Giuseppe era incarcerato.
4E il Capitan delle guardie commise a Giuseppe d'esser con loro; ed egli li serviva. Ed essi furono un anno in prigione.
5Ed amendue, il coppiere ed il panattiere del re di Egitto, ch' erano incarcerati nel Torrione, sognarono ciascuno un sogno in una stessa notte, conveniente alla interpretazione che ne fu data a ciascun d'essi.
6E Giuseppe, venuto la mattina a loro, li riguardò; ed ecco, erano conturbati.
7Ed egli domandò quegli Eunuchi di Faraone, ch'erano seco in prigione, in casa del suo signore, dicendo: Perchè sono oggi le vostre facce meste?
8Ed essi gli dissero: Noi abbiam sognato ciascuno un sogno, e non vi è alcuno che ce lo interpreti. E Giuseppe disse loro: Le interpretazioni non appartengono esse a Dio? deh! raccontatemeli.
9E il coppier maggiore raccontò a Giuseppe il suo sogno, e gli disse: E' mi pareva nel mio sogno di veder davanti a me una vite.
10E in quella vite erano tre tralci; e parve ch'ella germogliasse, poi che fiorisse, ed in fine che i suoi grappoli maturassero le uve.
11Ed io avea la coppa di Faraone in mano; e prendeva quelle uve, e le spremeva nella coppa di Faraone, e dava la coppa in mano a Faraone.
12E Giuseppe gli disse: Quest'è l'interpretazione di cotesto sogno: I tre tralci son tre giorni.
13Fra qui e tre giorni, Faraone, rivedendo la sua famiglia, ti rassegnerà, e ti rimetterà nel tuo stato; e tu porgerai in mano a Faraone la sua coppa, secondo il tuo primiero ufficio, quando eri suo coppiere.
14Ma abbi appo te memoria di me, quando avrai del bene; ed usa, ti prego, benignità inverso me, e fa' menzion di me a Faraone, e fa' che io esca fuor di questa casa.
15Perciocchè in verità io sono stato rubato dal paese degli Ebrei; ed anche qui non ho fatto nulla, perchè io dovessi esser messo in questa fossa.
16E il panattier maggiore, veggendo che Giuseppe avea interpretato il sogno di colui in bene, disse a Giuseppe: A me ancora pareva nel mio sogno di aver tre panieri bianchi in su la testa.
17E nel più alto paniere vi erano di tutte le vivande di Faraone, di lavoro di fornaio; e gli uccelli le mangiavano di dentro quel paniere d'in sul mio capo.
18E Giuseppe rispose, e disse: Questa è l'interpretazione di cotesto sogno: I tre panieri son tre giorni.
19Fra qui e tre giorni, Faraone, rivedendo la sua famiglia, ti casserà e ti torrà il tuo ufficio, e ti farà appiccare ad un legno, e gli uccelli ti mangeranno la carne d'addosso.
20Ed egli avvenne il terzo giorno appresso, ch'era il giorno della natività di Faraone, ch'egli fece un convito a tutti i suoi servitori; e trovò fra' suoi servitori rassegnati, il coppier maggiore, e il panattier maggiore.
21Ed egli rimise il coppier maggiore nel suo ufficio di coppiere; ed egli porse la coppa in mano a Faraone.
22Ma fece appiccare il panattier maggiore, secondo l'interpretazione che Giuseppe avea lor data.
23E il coppier maggiore non si ricordò di Giuseppe; anzi lo dimenticò.

1Y ACONTECIÓ después de estas cosas, que el copero del rey de Egipto y el panadero delinquieron contra su señor el rey de Egipto.
2Y enojóse Faraón contra sus dos eunucos, contra el principal de los coperos, y contra el principal de los panaderos:
3Y púsolos en prisión en la casa del capitán de los de la guardia, en la casa de la cárcel donde José estaba preso.
4Y el capitán de los de la guardia dió cargo de ellos á José, y él les servía: y estuvieron días en la prisión.
5Y ambos á dos, el copero y el panadero del rey de Egipto, que estaban arrestados en la prisión, vieron un sueño, cada uno su sueño en una misma noche, cada uno conforme á la declaración de su sueño.
6Y vino á ellos José por la mañana, y mirólos, y he aquí que estaban tristes.
7Y él preguntó á aquellos eunucos de Faraón, que estaban con él en la prisión de la casa de su señor, diciendo: ¿Por qué parecen hoy mal vuestros semblantes?
8Y ellos le dijeron: Hemos tenido un sueño, y no hay quien lo declare. Entonces les dijo José: ¿No son de Dios las declaraciones? Contádmelo ahora.
9Entonces el principal de los coperos contó su sueño á José, y díjole: Yo soñaba que veía una vid delante de mí,
10Y en la vid tres sarmientos; y ella como que brotaba, y arrojaba su flor, viniendo á madurar sus racimos de uvas:
11Y que la copa de Faraón estaba en mi mano, y tomaba yo las uvas, y las exprimía en la copa de Faraón, y daba yo la copa en mano de Faraón.
12Y díjole José: Esta es su declaración: Los tres sarmientos son tres días:
13Al cabo de tres días Faraón te hará levantar cabeza, y te restituirá á tu puesto: y darás la copa á Faraón en su mano, como solías cuando eras su copero.
14Acuérdate, pues, de mí para contigo cuando tuvieres ese bien, y ruégote que uses conmigo de misericordia, y hagas mención de mí á Faraón, y me saques de esta casa:
15Porque hurtado he sido de la tierra de los Hebreos; y tampoco he hecho aquí porqué me hubiesen de poner en la cárcel.
16Y viendo el principal de los panaderos que había declarado para bien, dijo á José: También yo soñaba que veía tres canastillos blancos sobre mi cabeza;
17Y en el canastillo más alto había de todas las viandas de Faraón, obra de panadero; y que las aves las comían del canastillo de sobre mi cabeza.
18Entonces respondió José, y dijo: Esta es su declaración: Los tres canastillos tres días son;
19Al cabo de tres días quitará Faraón tu cabeza de sobre ti, y te hará colgar en la horca, y las aves comerán tu carne de sobre ti.
20Y fué el tercero día el día del nacimiento de Faraón, é hizo banquete á todos sus sirvientes: y alzó la cabeza del principal de los coperos, y la cabeza del principal de los panaderos, entre sus servidores.
21E hizo volver á su oficio al principal de los coperos; y dió él la copa en mano de Faraón.
22Mas hizo ahorcar al principal de los panaderos, como le había declarado José.
23Y el principal de los coperos no se acordó de José, sino que le olvidó.

1And it came to pass after these things, that the butler of the king of Egypt and his baker had offended their lord the king of Egypt.
2And Pharaoh was wroth against two of his officers, against the chief of the butlers, and against the chief of the bakers.
3And he put them in ward in the house of the captain of the guard, into the prison, the place where Joseph was bound.
4And the captain of the guard charged Joseph with them, and he served them: and they continued a season in ward.
5And they dreamed a dream both of them, each man his dream in one night, each man according to the interpretation of his dream, the butler and the baker of the king of Egypt, which were bound in the prison.
6And Joseph came in unto them in the morning, and looked upon them, and, behold, they were sad.
7And he asked Pharaoh’s officers that were with him in the ward of his lord’s house, saying, Wherefore look ye so sadly to day?
8And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is no interpreter of it. And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell me them, I pray you.
9And the chief butler told his dream to Joseph, and said to him, In my dream, behold, a vine was before me;
10And in the vine were three branches: and it was as though it budded, and her blossoms shot forth; and the clusters thereof brought forth ripe grapes:
11And Pharaoh’s cup was in my hand: and I took the grapes, and pressed them into Pharaoh’s cup, and I gave the cup into Pharaoh’s hand.
12And Joseph said unto him, This is the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days:
13Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thine head, and restore thee unto thy place: and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh’s cup into his hand, after the former manner when thou wast his butler.
14But think on me when it shall be well with thee, and shew kindness, I pray thee, unto me, and make mention of me unto Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house:
15For indeed I was stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews: and here also have I done nothing that they should put me into the dungeon.
16When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was good, he said unto Joseph, I also was in my dream, and, behold, I had three white baskets on my head:
17And in the uppermost basket there was of all manner of bakemeats for Pharaoh; and the birds did eat them out of the basket upon my head.
18And Joseph answered and said, This is the interpretation thereof: The three baskets are three days:
19Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thy head from off thee, and shall hang thee on a tree; and the birds shall eat thy flesh from off thee.
20And it came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh’s birthday, that he made a feast unto all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants.
21And he restored the chief butler unto his butlership again; and he gave the cup into Pharaoh’s hand:
22But he hanged the chief baker: as Joseph had interpreted to them.
23Yet did not the chief butler remember Joseph, but forgat him.

1After these things, the butler of the king of Egypt and his baker offended their lord, the king of Egypt.
2Pharaoh was angry with his two officers, the chief cup bearer and the chief baker.
3He put them in custody in the house of the captain of the guard, into the prison, the place where Joseph was bound.
4The captain of the guard assigned them to Joseph, and he took care of them. They stayed in prison many days.
5They both dreamed a dream, each man his dream, in one night, each man according to the interpretation of his dream, the cup bearer and the baker of the king of Egypt, who were bound in the prison.
6Joseph came in to them in the morning, and saw them, and saw that they were sad.
7He asked Pharaoh’s officers who were with him in custody in his master’s house, saying, “Why do you look so sad today?”
8They said to him, “We have dreamed a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it.” Joseph said to them, “Don’t interpretations belong to God? Please tell it to me.”
9The chief cup bearer told his dream to Joseph, and said to him, “In my dream, behold, a vine was in front of me,
10and in the vine were three branches. It was as though it budded, it blossomed, and its clusters produced ripe grapes.
11Pharaoh’s cup was in my hand; and I took the grapes, and pressed them into Pharaoh’s cup, and I gave the cup into Pharaoh’s hand.”
12Joseph said to him, “This is its interpretation: the three branches are three days.
13Within three more days, Pharaoh will lift up your head, and restore you to your office. You will give Pharaoh’s cup into his hand, the way you did when you were his cup bearer.
14But remember me when it is well with you. Please show kindness to me, and make mention of me to Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house.
15For indeed, I was stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews, and here also I have done nothing that they should put me into the dungeon.”
16When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was good, he said to Joseph, “I also was in my dream, and behold, three baskets of white bread were on my head.
17In the uppermost basket there were all kinds of baked food for Pharaoh, and the birds ate them out of the basket on my head.”
18Joseph answered, “This is its interpretation. The three baskets are three days.
19Within three more days, Pharaoh will lift up your head from off you, and will hang you on a tree; and the birds will eat your flesh from off you.”
20On the third day, which was Pharaoh’s birthday, he made a feast for all his servants, and he lifted up the head of the chief cup bearer and the head of the chief baker among his servants.
21He restored the chief cup bearer to his position again, and he gave the cup into Pharaoh’s hand;
22but he hanged the chief baker, as Joseph had interpreted to them.
23Yet the chief cup bearer didn’t remember Joseph, but forgot him.
