1Israel zog hin mit allem, was er hatte. Und da er gen Beer-Seba kam, opferte er dem Gott seines Vaters Isaak.
2Und Gott sprach zu ihm des Nachts im Gesicht: Jakob, Jakob! Er sprach: Hier bin ich.
3Und er sprach: Ich bin Gott, der Gott deines Vaters; fürchte dich nicht, nach Ägypten hinabzuziehen, denn daselbst will ich dich zum großen Volk machen.
4Ich will mit dir hinab nach Ägypten ziehen und will dich auch wieder heraufführen; und Joseph soll seine Hände auf deine Augen legen.
5Da machte sich Jakob auf von Beer-Seba; und die Kinder Israels führten Jakob, ihren Vater, mit ihren Kindlein und Weibern auf den Wagen, die Pharao gesandt hatte, ihn zu führen,
6und nahmen ihr Vieh und ihre Habe, die sie im Lande Kanaan erworben hatten, und kamen also nach Ägypten, Jakob und all sein Same mit ihm,
7seine Söhne und seine Kindessöhne mit ihm, seine Töchter und seine Kindestöchter und all sein Same; die brachte er mit sich nach Ägypten.
8Dies sind die Namen der Kinder Israel, die nach Ägypten kamen: Jakob, und seine Söhne. Der erstgeborene Sohn Jakobs, Ruben.
9Die Kinder Rubens: Henoch, Pallu, Hezron und Charmi.
10Die Kinder Simeons: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar und Saul, der Sohn von dem kanaanitischen Weibe.
11Die Kinder Levis: Gerson, Kahath und Merari.
12Die Kinder Juda's: Ger, Onan, Sela, Perez und Serah. Aber Ger und Onan waren gestorben im Lande Kanaan. Die Kinder aber des Perez: Hezron und Hamul.
13Die Kinder Isaschars: Thola, Phuva, Job und Simron.
14Die Kinder Sebulons: Sered, Elon und Jahleel.
15Das sind die Kinder von Lea, die sie Jakob gebar in Mesopotamien mit seiner Tochter Dina. Die machen allesamt mit Söhnen und Töchtern dreiunddreißig Seelen.
16Die Kinder Gads: Ziphjon, Haggi, Suni, Ezbon, Eri, Arodi und Areli.
17Die Kinder Assers: Jimna, Jiswa, Jiswi, Beria und Serah, ihre Schwester. Aber die Kinder Berias: Heber und Malchiel.
18Das sind die Kinder von Silpa, die Laban gab Lea, seiner Tochter, und sie gebar Jakob diese sechzehn Seelen.
19Die Kinder Rahels, des Weibes Jakobs: Joseph und Benjamin.
20Und Joseph wurden geboren in Ägyptenland Manasse und Ephraim, die ihm gebar Asnath, die Tochter Potipheras, des Priesters zu On.
21Die Kinder Benjamins: Bela, Becher, Asbel, Gera, Naaman, Ehi, Ros, Muppim, Huppim und Ard.
22Das sind die Kinder von Rahel, die Jakob geboren sind, allesamt vierzehn Seelen.
23Die Kinder Dans: Husim.
24Die Kinder Naphthalis: Jahzeel, Guni, Jezer und Sillem.
25Das sind die Kinder Bilhas, die Laban seiner Tochter Rahel gab, und sie gebar Jakob die sieben Seelen.
26Alle Seelen, die mit Jakob nach Ägypten kamen, die aus seinen Lenden gekommen waren (ausgenommen die Weiber seiner Kinder), sind alle zusammen sechundsechzig Seelen,
27Und die Kinder Josephs, die in Ägypten geboren sind, waren zwei Seelen, also daß alle Seelen des Hauses Jakobs, die nach Ägypten kamen, waren siebzig.
28Und er sandte Juda vor sich hin zu Joseph, das dieser ihn anwiese zu Gosen; und sie kamen in das Land Gosen.
29Da spannte Joseph seinen Wagen an und zog hinauf, seinem Vater Israel entgegen, nach Gosen. Und da er ihn sah, fiel er ihm um den Hals und weinte lange an seinem Halse.
30Da sprach Israel zu Joseph: Ich will nun gerne sterben, nachdem ich dein Angesicht gesehen habe, daß du noch lebst.
31Joseph sprach zu seinen Brüdern und seines Vaters Hause: Ich will hinaufziehen und Pharao ansagen und zu ihm sprechen: Meine Brüder und meines Vaters Haus sind zu mir gekommen aus dem Lande Kanaan,
32und sind Viehhirten, denn es sind Leute, die mit Vieh umgehen; Ihr kleines und großes Vieh und alles, was sie haben, haben sie mitgebracht.
33Wenn euch nun Pharao wird rufen und sagen: Was ist eure Nahrung?
34so sollt ihr sagen: Deine Knechte sind Leute, die mit Vieh umgehen, von unsrer Jugend auf bis her, beide, wir und unsre Väter, auf daß ihr wohnen möget im Lande Gosen. Denn was Viehhirten sind, das ist den Ägyptern ein Greuel.

1Y PARTIÓSE Israel con todo lo que tenía, y vino á Beer-seba, y ofreció sacrificios al Dios de su padre Isaac.
2Y habló Dios á Israel en visiones de noche, y dijo: Jacob, Jacob. Y él respondió: Heme aquí.
3Y dijo: Yo soy Dios, el Dios de tu padre; no temas de descender á Egipto, porque yo te pondré allí en gran gente.
4Yo descenderé contigo á Egipto, y yo también te haré volver: y José pondrá su mano sobre tus ojos.
5Y levantóse Jacob de Beer-seba; y tomaron los hijos de Israel á su padre Jacob, y á sus niños, y á sus mujeres, en los carros que Faraón había enviado para llevarlo.
6Y tomaron sus ganados, y su hacienda que había adquirido en la tierra de Canaán, y viniéronse á Egipto, Jacob, y toda su simiente consigo;
7Sus hijos, y los hijos de sus hijos consigo; sus hijas, y las hijas de sus hijos, y á toda su simiente trajo consigo á Egipto.
8Y estos son los nombres de los hijos de Israel, que entraron en Egipto, Jacob y sus hijos: Rubén, el primogénito de Jacob.
9Y los hijos de Rubén: Hanoch, y Phallu, y Hezrón, y Carmi.
10Y los hijos de Simeón: Jemuel, y Jamín, y Ohad, y Jachîn, y Zohar, y Saúl, hijo de la Cananea.
11Y los hijos de Leví: Gersón, y Coath, y Merari.
12Y los hijos de Judá: Er, y Onán, y Sela, y Phares, y Zara: mas Er y Onán, murieron en la tierra de Canaán. Y los hijos de Phares fueron Hezrón y Hamul.
13Y los hijos de Issachâr: Thola, y Phua, y Job, y Simrón.
14Y los hijos de Zabulón: Sered, y Elón, y Jahleel.
15Estos fueron los hijos de Lea, los que parió á Jacob en Padan-aram, y además su hija Dina: treinta y tres las almas todas de sus hijos é hijas.
16Y los hijos de Gad: Ziphión, y Aggi, y Ezbón, y Suni, y Heri, y Arodi, y Areli.
17Y los hijos de Aser: Jimna, é Ishua, é Isui, y Beria, y Sera, hermana de ellos. Los hijos de Beria: Heber, y Malchîel.
18Estos fueron los hijos de Zilpa, la que Labán dió á su hija Lea, y parió estos á Jacob; todas diez y seis almas.
19Y los hijos de Rachêl, mujer de Jacob: José y Benjamín.
20Y nacieron á José en la tierra de Egipto Manasés y Ephraim, los que le parió Asenath, hija de Potipherah, sacerdote de On.
21Y los hijos de Benjamín fueron Bela, y Bechêr y Asbel, y Gera, y Naamán, y Ehi, y Ros y Muppim, y Huppim, y Ard.
22Estos fueron los hijos de Rachêl, que nacieron á Jacob: en todas, catorce almas.

27Y los hijos de José, que le nacieron en Egipto, dos personas. Todas las almas de la casa de Jacob, que entraron en Egipto, fueron setenta.
28Y envió á Judá delante de sí á José, para que le viniese á ver á Gosén; y llegaron á la tierra de Gosén.
29Y José unció su carro y vino á recibir á Israel su padre á Gosén; y se manifestó á él, y echóse sobre su cuello, y lloró sobre su cuello bastante.
30Entonces Israel dijo á José: Muera yo ahora, ya que he visto tu rostro, pues aun vives.
31Y José dijo á sus hermanos, y á la casa de su padre: Subiré y haré saber á Faraón, y diréle: Mis hermanos y la casa de mi padre, que estaban en la tierra de Canaán, han venido á mí;
32Y los hombres son pastores de ovejas, porque son hombres ganaderos: y han traído sus ovejas y sus vacas, y todo lo que tenían.
33Y cuando Faraón os llamare y dijere: ¿cuál es vuestro oficio?
34Entonces diréis: Hombres de ganadería han sido tus siervos desde nuestra mocedad hasta ahora, nosotros y nuestros padres; á fin que moréis en la tierra de Gosén, porque los Egipcios abominan todo pastor de ovejas.

1And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beer-sheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac.
2And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.
3And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:
4I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.
5And Jacob rose up from Beer-sheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.
6And they took their cattle, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him:
7His sons, and his sons’ sons with him, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters, and all his seed brought he with him into Egypt.
8And these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn.
9And the sons of Reuben; Hanoch, and Phallu, and Hezron, and Carmi.
10And the sons of Simeon; Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman.
11And the sons of Levi; Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
12And the sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Pharez, and Zerah: but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Pharez were Hezron and Hamul.
13And the sons of Issachar; Tola, and Phuvah, and Job, and Shimron.
14And the sons of Zebulun; Sered, and Elon, and Jahleel.
15These be the sons of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob in Padan-aram, with his daughter Dinah: all the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty and three.
16And the sons of Gad; Ziphion, and Haggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, Eri, and Arodi, and Areli.

21And the sons of Benjamin were Belah, and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Ehi, and Rosh, Muppim, and Huppim, and Ard.
22These are the sons of Rachel, which were born to Jacob: all the souls were fourteen.
23And the sons of Dan; Hushim.
24And the sons of Naphtali; Jahzeel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shillem.
25These are the sons of Bilhah, which Laban gave unto Rachel his daughter, and she bare these unto Jacob: all the souls were seven.
26All the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, which came out of his loins, besides Jacob’s sons’ wives, all the souls were threescore and six;
27And the sons of Joseph, which were born him in Egypt, were two souls: all the souls of the house of Jacob, which came into Egypt, were threescore and ten.
28And he sent Judah before him unto Joseph, to direct his face unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen.
29And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen, and presented himself unto him; and he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.
30And Israel said unto Joseph, Now let me die, since I have seen thy face, because thou art yet alive.
31And Joseph said unto his brethren, and unto his father’s house, I will go up, and shew Pharaoh, and say unto him, My brethren, and my father’s house, which were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me;
32And the men are shepherds, for their trade hath been to feed cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.
33And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say, What is your occupation?
34That ye shall say, Thy servants’ trade hath been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and also our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.

1Israel traveled with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices to the God of his father, Isaac.
2God spoke to Israel in the visions of the night, and said, “Jacob, Jacob!” He said, “Here I am.”
3He said, “I am God, the God of your father. Don’t be afraid to go down into Egypt, for there I will make of you a great nation.
4I will go down with you into Egypt. I will also surely bring you up again. Joseph’s hand will close your eyes.”
5Jacob rose up from Beersheba, and the sons of Israel carried Jacob, their father, their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.
6They took their livestock, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt—Jacob, and all his offspring with him,
7his sons, and his sons’ sons with him, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters, and he brought all his offspring with him into Egypt.
8These are the names of the children of Israel, who came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn.

29Joseph prepared his chariot, and went up to meet Israel, his father, in Goshen. He presented himself to him, and fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.
30Israel said to Joseph, “Now let me die, since I have seen your face, that you are still alive.”
31Joseph said to his brothers, and to his father’s house, “I will go up, and speak with Pharaoh, and will tell him, ‘My brothers, and my father’s house, who were in the land of Canaan, have come to me.
32These men are shepherds, for they have been keepers of livestock, and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.’
33It will happen, when Pharaoh summons you, and will say, ‘What is your occupation?’
34that you shall say, ‘Your servants have been keepers of livestock from our youth even until now, both we, and our fathers:’ that you may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination to the Egyptians.”
