(Dies ist) der Gottesspruch, den der Prophet Habakuk geschaut hat.

LA carga que vió Habacuc profeta.

The burden which Habakkuk the prophet did see.

The revelation which Habakkuk the prophet saw.

Wie lange schon, HERR, rufe ich um Hilfe, ohne daß du es hörst! Wie lange schreie ich zu dir über Gewalttat, ohne daß du Hilfe bringst!

¿Hasta cuándo, oh Jehová, clamaré, y no oirás; y daré voces á ti á causa de la violencia, y no salvarás?

O LORD, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! even cry out unto thee of violence, and thou wilt not save!

LORD, how long will I cry, and you will not hear? I cry out to you “Violence!” and will you not save?

Warum läßt du mich Unheil schauen und muß ich Elend erblicken? Bedrückung und Gewalttat werden vor meinen Augen verübt, Streit entsteht, und Zwietracht erhebt sich!

¿Por qué me haces ver iniquidad, y haces que mire molestia, y saco y violencia delante de mí, habiendo además quien levante pleito y contienda?

Why dost thou shew me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance? for spoiling and violence are before me: and there are that raise up strife and contention.

Why do you show me iniquity, and look at perversity? For destruction and violence are before me. There is strife, and contention rises up.

Darum erstarrt das Gesetz, und das Recht tritt nimmermehr zutage; denn der Frevler umgarnt den Gerechten: darum tritt das Recht verdreht ans Licht.

Por lo cual la ley es debilitada, y el juicio no sale verdadero: por cuanto el impío asedia al justo, por eso sale torcido el juicio.

Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceedeth.

Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never prevails; for the wicked surround the righteous; therefore justice comes out perverted.

Sehet euch um unter den Völkern und blickt umher: werdet starr und staunet! Denn ein Werk vollführt er in euren Tagen – ihr werdet es nicht glauben, wenn man es euch erzählt.

Mirad en las gentes, y ved, y maravillaos pasmosamente; porque obra será hecha en vuestros días, que aun cuando se os contare, no la creeréis.

Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you.

“Look among the nations, watch, and wonder marvelously; for I am working a work in your days which you will not believe though it is told you.

Denn wisset wohl: Ich bin es, der die Chaldäer auftreten läßt, das bitterböse und ungestüme Volk, das weit und breit die Lande durchzieht, um Wohnsitze zu erobern, die ihm nicht gehören.

Porque he aquí, yo levanto los Caldeos, gente amarga y presurosa, que camina por la anchura de la tierra para poseer las habitaciones ajenas.

For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces that are not theirs.

For, behold, I am raising up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation who march through the width of the earth, to possess dwelling places that are not theirs.

Schrecklich und furchtbar ist es; sein Recht und seine Hoheit macht es überall zum Gesetz.

Espantosa es y terrible: de ella misma saldrá su derecho y su grandeza.

They are terrible and dreadful: their judgment and their dignity shall proceed of themselves.

They are feared and dreaded. Their judgment and their dignity proceed from themselves.

Schneller als die Panther sind ihre Rosse und kühner als Wölfe am Abend ihre Reiter: sie kommen aus weiter Ferne dahergesprengt, sie fliegen heran wie ein Adler, der sich auf den Fraß stürzt.

Y serán sus caballos más ligeros que tigres, y más agudos que lobos de tarde; y sus jinetes se multiplicarán: vendrán de lejos sus caballeros, y volarán como águilas que se apresuran á la comida.

Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves: and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to eat.

Their horses also are swifter than leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves. Their horsemen press proudly on. Yes, their horsemen come from afar. They fly as an eagle that hurries to devour.

Sie gehen allesamt auf Gewalttat aus, das Streben ihres Angesichts ist nach vorwärts gerichtet, und Gefangene raffen sie zusammen wie Sand.

Toda ella vendrá á la presa: delante de sus caras viento solano; y juntará cautivos como arena.

They shall come all for violence: their faces shall sup up as the east wind, and they shall gather the captivity as the sand.

All of them come for violence. Their hordes face forward. They gather prisoners like sand.

Der Könige spottet es, und Fürsten sind ihm ein Gelächter; ob jeder Festung lacht es, denn es schüttet einen Erdwall auf und erobert sie.

Y escarnecerá de los reyes, y de los príncipes hará burla: reiráse de toda fortaleza, y amontonará polvo, y la tomará.

And they shall scoff at the kings, and the princes shall be a scorn unto them: they shall deride every strong hold; for they shall heap dust, and take it.

Yes, they scoff at kings, and princes are a derision to them. They laugh at every stronghold, for they build up an earthen ramp and take it.

Dann wirbelt es davon wie der Wind und zieht weiter unter Freveltaten: diese seine Kraft gilt ihm als sein Gott.

Luego mudará espíritu, y pasará adelante, y ofenderá atribuyendo esta su potencia á su dios.

Then shall his mind change, and he shall pass over, and offend, imputing this his power unto his god.

Then they sweep by like the wind and go on. They are indeed guilty, whose strength is their god.”

Bist nicht du, HERR, von alters her mein Gott, mein Heiliger? Nein, wir werden nicht sterben! HERR, zum Gericht hast du ihn bestimmt und zum Boten der Züchtigung ihn bestellt.

¿No eres tú desde el principio, oh Jehová, Dios mío, Santo mío? No moriremos. Oh Jehová, para juicio lo pusiste; y tú, oh Roca, lo fundaste para castigar.

Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.

Aren’t you from everlasting, LORD my God, my Holy One? We will not die. LORD, you have appointed them for judgment. You, Rock, have established him to punish.

Zu rein sind deine Augen, als daß du Böses ansehen könntest, und Gewalttat vermagst du nicht anzuschauen: warum siehst du denn den Ruchlosen ruhig zu und schweigst, wenn der Frevler den verschlingt, der besser ist als er?

Muy limpio eres de ojos para ver el mal, ni puedes ver el agravio: ¿por qué ves los menospreciadores, y callas cuando destruye el impío al más justo que él,

Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?

You who have purer eyes than to see evil, and who cannot look on perversity, why do you tolerate those who deal treacherously and keep silent when the wicked swallows up the man who is more righteous than he,

Du hast ja die Menschen so behandeln lassen wie die Fische im Meer, wie das Kriechgetier, das keinen Herrn über sich hat.

Y haces que sean los hombres como los peces de la mar, como reptiles que no tienen señor?

And makest men as the fishes of the sea, as the creeping things, that have no ruler over them?

and make men like the fish of the sea, like the creeping things that have no ruler over them?

Sie alle hat er mit dem Hamen heraufgeholt, sie in sein Netz hineingerafft und in sein Garn eingefangen; darüber freut er sich und jubelt.

Sacará á todos con anzuelo, cogerálos con su red, y juntarálos en su aljerife: por lo cual se holgará y hará alegrías.

They take up all of them with the angle, they catch them in their net, and gather them in their drag: therefore they rejoice and are glad.

He takes up all of them with the hook. He catches them in his net and gathers them in his dragnet. Therefore he rejoices and is glad.

Darum opfert er seinem Netz und bringt seinem Garn Weihrauch dar, denn ihnen verdankt er seine reiche Beute und seine fette Speise.

Por esto hará sacrificios á su red, y ofrecerá sahumerios á su aljerife: porque con ellos engordó su porción, y engrasó su comida.

Therefore they sacrifice unto their net, and burn incense unto their drag; because by them their portion is fat, and their meat plenteous.

Therefore he sacrifices to his net and burns incense to his dragnet, because by them his life is luxurious and his food is good.

Soll er aber deshalb sein Netz fort und fort entleeren und beständig Völker erbarmungslos morden?

¿Vaciará por eso su red, ó tendrá piedad de matar gentes continuamente?

Shall they therefore empty their net, and not spare continually to slay the nations?

Will he therefore continually empty his net, and kill the nations without mercy?
