19¡Pobre de ti, Babilonia, que le dices a tus ídolos muertos que te salven! ¡Pobre de ti, que le pides a la piedra muerta que te diga lo que has de hacer! ¿Acaso crees que las imágenes de madera pueden hablar? Aunque están recargadas de oro y plata, no tienen vida.

19¡Ay del que dice al palo: Despiértate; y á la piedra muda: Levántate! ¿Podrá él enseñar? He aquí él está cubierto de oro y plata, y no hay dentro de él espíritu.

19Woe unto him that saith to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it is laid over with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it.

19Woe to him who says to the wood, ‘Awake!’ or to the mute stone, ‘Arise!’ Shall this teach? Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all within it.
