Car la loi n'ayant qu'une ombre des biens à venir, et non l'image même des choses, ne peut jamais, par les mêmes sacrifices qu'on offre chaque année à perpétuité, rendre parfaits ceux qui y prennent part.

PORQUE la ley, teniendo la sombra de los bienes venideros, no la imagen misma de las cosas, nunca puede, por los mismos sacrificios que ofrecen continuamente cada año, hacer perfectos á los que se allegan.

For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

Autrement n'aurait-on pas cessé de les offrir, puisque ceux qui rendent ce culte, étant une fois purifiés, n'auraient plus eu aucune conscience de leurs péchés ?

De otra manera cesarían de ofrecerse; porque los que tributan este culto, limpios de una vez, no tendrían más conciencia de pecado.

For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.

Or else wouldn’t they have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having been once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins?

Mais dans ces sacrifices il se fait chaque année une commémoration des péchés.

Empero en estos sacrificios cada año se hace conmemoración de los pecados.

But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.

But in those sacrifices there is a yearly reminder of sins.

Car il est impossible que le sang de taureaux et de boucs ôte les péchés.

Porque la sangre de los toros y de los machos cabríos no puede quitar los pecados.

For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

C'est pourquoi, entrant dans le monde, il dit : Tu n'as point voulu de sacrifice ni d'offrande, mais tu m'as formé un corps.

Por lo cual, entrando en el mundo, dice: Sacrificio y presente no quisiste; mas me apropiaste cuerpo:

Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

Therefore when he comes into the world, he says, “You didn’t desire sacrifice and offering, but you prepared a body for me.

Tu n'as point pris plaisir aux holocaustes ni aux sacrifices pour le péché.

Holocaustos y expiaciones por el pecado no te agradaron.

In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.

You had no pleasure in whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin.

Alors j'ai dit : Voici, je viens (dans le rouleau du livre il est écrit de moi), pour faire, ô Dieu ! ta volonté.

Entonces dije: Heme aquí (en la cabecera del libro está escrito de mí) para que haga, oh Dios, tu voluntad.

Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come (in the scroll of the book it is written of me) to do your will, O God.’”

Disant auparavant : Sacrifices et offrandes, holocaustes et oblations pour le péché (choses qui sont offertes selon la loi), tu n'en as pas voulu et n'y as point pris plaisir,

Diciendo arriba: Sacrificio y presente, y holocaustos y expiaciones por el pecado no quisiste, ni te agradaron, (las cuales cosas se ofrecen según la ley,)

Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;

Previously saying, “Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you didn’t desire, neither had pleasure in them” (those which are offered according to the law),

il a dit alors : Voici, je viens pour faire ta volonté. Il abolit le premier pour établir le second.

Entonces dijo: Heme aquí para que haga, oh Dios, tu voluntad. Quita lo primero, para establecer lo postrero.

Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

then he has said, “Behold, I have come to do your will.” He takes away the first, that he may establish the second,

C'est par cette volonté que nous sommes sanctifiés, par l'offrande du corps de Jésus-Christ, une fois pour toutes.

En la cual voluntad somos santificados por la ofrenda del cuerpo de Jesucristo hecha una sola vez.

By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Et tandis que tout sacrificateur se tient chaque jour debout, faisant le service, et offrant souvent les mêmes sacrifices, qui ne peuvent jamais ôter les péchés,

Así que, todo sacerdote se presenta cada día ministrando y ofreciendo muchas veces los mismos sacrificios, que nunca pueden quitar los pecados:

And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

Every priest indeed stands day by day serving and offering often the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins,

lui, après avoir offert un seul sacrifice pour les péchés, s'est assis pour toujours à la droite de Dieu,

Pero éste, habiendo ofrecido por los pecados un solo sacrificio para siempre, está sentado á la diestra de Dios,

But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God,

attendant désormais jusqu'à ce que ses ennemis soient mis pour marchepied de ses pieds.

Esperando lo que resta, hasta que sus enemigos sean puestos por estrado de sus pies.

From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

from that time waiting until his enemies are made the footstool of his feet.

Car par une seule offrande il a amené à la perfection pour toujours ceux qui sont sanctifiés.

Porque con una sola ofrenda hizo perfectos para siempre á los santificados.

For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

Or l'Esprit-Saint aussi nous en rend témoignage ; car après avoir dit :

Y atestíguanos lo mismo el Espíritu Santo; que después que dijo:

Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,

The Holy Spirit also testifies to us, for after saying,

Voici l'Alliance que je ferai avec eux après ces jours-là, le Seigneur dit : Je mettrai mes lois dans leur cœur, et je les écrirai dans leur entendement ;

Y este es el pacto que haré con ellos después de aquellos días, dice el Señor: Daré mis leyes en sus corazones, y en sus almas las escribiré;

This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

“This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days,” says the Lord, “I will put my laws on their heart, I will also write them on their mind;” then he says,

et je ne me souviendrai plus de leurs péchés ni de leurs iniquités.

Añade: Y nunca más me acordaré de sus pecados é iniquidades.

And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

“I will remember their sins and their iniquities no more.”

Or, là où il y a rémission des péchés et des iniquités, il n'y a plus d'offrande pour le péché.

Pues donde hay remisión de éstos, no hay más ofrenda por pecado.

Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

Ayant donc, frères, par le sang de Jésus, une ferme assurance d'entrer dans le sanctuaire,

Así que, hermanos, teniendo libertad para entrar en el santuario por la sangre de Jesucristo,

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

Having therefore, brothers, boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus,

chemin nouveau et vivant, qu'il nous a inauguré au travers du voile, c'est-à-dire, de sa chair ;

Por el camino que él nos consagró nuevo y vivo, por el velo, esto es, por su carne;

By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

by the way which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh,

et ayant un grand sacrificateur sur la maison de Dieu,

Y teniendo un gran sacerdote sobre la casa de Dios,

And having an high priest over the house of God;

and having a great priest over God’s house,

approchons-nous avec un cœur sincère, dans une pleine certitude de foi, ayant les cœurs purifiés d'une mauvaise conscience, et le corps lavé d'une eau pure.

Lleguémonos con corazón verdadero, en plena certidumbre de fe, purificados los corazones de mala conciencia, y lavados los cuerpos con agua limpia.

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Retenons la profession de l'espérance sans fléchir ; car il est fidèle, celui qui a fait la promesse ;

Mantengamos firme la profesión de nuestra fe sin fluctuar; que fiel es el que prometió:

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

let’s hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful.

et considérons-nous les uns les autres, pour nous exciter à la charité et aux bonnes œuvres ;

Y considerémonos los unos á los otros para provocarnos al amor y á las buenas obras;

And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

Let’s consider how to provoke one another to love and good works,

n'abandonnant point notre assemblée, comme quelques-uns ont coutume de faire, mais nous exhortant, et cela d'autant plus que vous voyez approcher le jour.

No dejando nuestra congregación, como algunos tienen por costumbre, mas exhortándonos; y tanto más, cuanto veis que aquel día se acerca.

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

Car, si nous péchons volontairement, après avoir reçu la connaissance de la vérité, il ne reste plus de sacrifice pour les péchés,

Porque si pecáremos voluntariamente después de haber recibido el conocimiento de la verdad, ya no queda sacrificio por el pecado.

For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more a sacrifice for sins,

mais l'attente terrible d'un jugement et l'ardeur d'un feu qui doit dévorer les adversaires.

Sino una horrenda esperanza de juicio, y hervor de fuego que ha de devorar á los adversarios.

But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and a fierceness of fire which will devour the adversaries.

Si quelqu'un a violé la loi de Moïse, il est mis à mort sans miséricorde, sur la déposition de deux ou de trois témoins :

El que menospreciare la ley de Moisés, por el testimonio de dos ó de tres testigos muere sin ninguna misericordia:

He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

A man who disregards Moses’ law dies without compassion on the word of two or three witnesses.

combien pire pensez-vous que sera le châtiment dont sera jugé digne celui qui aura foulé aux pieds le Fils de Dieu, et tenu pour profane le sang de l'alliance, par lequel il avait été sanctifié, et qui aura outragé l'Esprit de la grâce ?

¿Cuánto pensáis que será más digno de mayor castigo, el que hollare al Hijo de Dios, y tuviere por inmunda la sangre del testamento, en la cual fué santificado, é hiciere afrenta al Espíritu de gracia?

Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

How much worse punishment do you think he will be judged worthy of who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?

Car nous connaissons Celui qui a dit : A moi est la vengeance ; moi je rétribuerai ! Et encore : Le Seigneur jugera son peuple.

Sabemos quién es el que dijo: Mía es la venganza, yo daré el pago, dice el Señor. Y otra vez: El Señor juzgará su pueblo.

For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

For we know him who said, “Vengeance belongs to me. I will repay,” says the Lord. Again, “The Lord will judge his people.”

Il est terrible de tomber entre les mains du Dieu vivant.

Horrenda cosa es caer en las manos del Dios vivo.

Mais souvenez-vous de ces premiers jours, où, après avoir été éclairés, vous avez supporté une longue épreuve de souffrances,

Empero traed á la memoria los días pasados, en los cuales, después de haber sido iluminados, sufristeis gran combate de aflicciones:

But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;

But remember the former days, in which, after you were enlightened, you endured a great struggle with sufferings:

d'une part, exposés en spectacle par des opprobres et des tribulations, d'autre part, vous associant à ceux qui menaient une semblable vie.

Por una parte, ciertamente, con vituperios y tribulaciones fuisteis hechos espectáculo; y por otra parte hechos compañeros de los que estaban en tal estado.

Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.

partly, being exposed to both reproaches and oppressions, and partly, becoming partakers with those who were treated so.

Car vous avez aussi compati avec les prisonniers, et vous avez vous-mêmes accepté avec joie l'enlèvement de vos biens, sachant que vous avez un bien meilleur et permanent.

Porque de mis prisiones también os resentisteis conmigo, y el robo de vuestros bienes padecisteis con gozo, conociendo que tenéis en vosotros una mejor sustancia en los cielos, y que permanece.

For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.

For you both had compassion on me in my chains and joyfully accepted the plundering of your possessions, knowing that you have for yourselves a better possession and an enduring one in the heavens.

Ne rejetez donc point votre assurance, qui a une grande récompense.

No perdáis pues vuestra confianza, que tiene grande remuneración de galardón:

Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.

Therefore don’t throw away your boldness, which has a great reward.

Car vous avez besoin de persévérance, afin qu'après avoir fait la volonté de Dieu, vous remportiez ce qui vous est promis.

Porque la paciencia os es necesaria; para que, habiendo hecho la voluntad de Dios, obtengáis la promesa.

For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

For you need endurance so that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise.

Car encore un peu, un peu de temps, Celui qui doit venir viendra, et il ne tardera point ;

Porque aun un poquito, y el que ha de venir vendrá, y no tardará.

For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

“In a very little while, he who comes will come and will not wait.

mais mon juste vivra par la foi ; et s'il se retire, mon âme ne prend pas plaisir en lui.

Ahora el justo vivirá por fe; mas si se retirare, no agradará á mi alma.

Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

But the righteous one will live by faith. If he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.”

Quant à nous, nous ne sommes pas de ceux qui se retirent pour se perdre ; mais de ceux qui croient pour sauver leur âme.

Pero nosotros no somos tales que nos retiremos para perdición, sino fieles para ganancia del alma.

But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the saving of the soul.
