1Pois, como a Lei tem uma sombra dos bens futuros, e não a própria imagem das coisas, ela nunca pode, por meio dos mesmos sacrifícios que se oferecem a cada ano, continuamente, tornar perfeitos os que se aproximam.
2Caso contrário, deixariam de ser oferecidos, pois os adoradores, uma vez purificados, não teriam mais consciência alguma de pecados.
3Porém nesses sacrifícios a cada ano se faz uma nova lembrança dos pecados,
4porque é impossível que o sangue de touros e de bodes tire pecados.
5Por isso que, quando ele entrou no mundo, disse: Sacrifício e oferta não quiseste, mas me preparaste um corpo.
6Ofertas de queima e ofertas pelo pecado não te agradaram.
7Então eu disse: “Eis-me aqui; (no rolo do livro está escrito de mim) venho para fazer a tua vontade, ó Deus”. Salmos 40:6-8
8Depois de ter dito acima: “Sacrifício, oferta, holocaustos, e ofertas pelo pecado não quiseste, nem te agradaram”, (os quais se oferecem segundo a Lei),
9então disse: “Eis-me aqui, venho para fazer a tua vontade, ó Deus”. Assim , ele cancela o primeiro pacto ,para estabelecer o segundo.
10Pela sua vontade somos santificados por meio da oferta sacrificial do corpo de Jesus Cristo, feita de uma vez por todas.
11Todo sacerdote comparece a cada dia para servir e oferecer muitas vezes os mesmos sacrifícios, que nunca podem tirar os pecados;
12Mas Jesus ,depois que ofereceu um sacrifício pelos pecados, assentou-se para sempre à direita de Deus;
13e espera desde então, até que os seus inimigos sejam postos por escabelo dos seus pés.
14Pois com uma só oferta ele aperfeiçoou para sempre os que são santificados.
15E também o Espírito Santo nos dá testemunho acerca disso ; pois, depois de haver anteriormente dito:
16Este é o pacto que farei com eles depois daqueles dias, diz o Senhor: Porei minhas leis em seus corações, e as escreverei em suas mentes; Jeremias 31:33
17Então ele diz : E não mais me lembrarei dos seus pecados e das suas transgressões. Jeremias 31:34
18Ora, onde há perdão dessas coisas, não há mais oferta pelo pecado.
19Portanto, irmãos, já que temos a confiança de entrar no Santuário pelo sangue de Jesus,
20pelo caminho novo e vivo que ele consagrou para nós através do véu, isto é, pela sua carne;
21e já que temos um grande Sacerdote sobre a casa de Deus,
22aproximemo-nos com um coração sincero em plena certeza de fé, tendo os corações aspergidos e purificados da má consciência, e o corpo lavado com água pura;
23mantenhamos firme a esperança que declararmos ter, sem abalo algum, pois aquele que prometeu é fiel;
24e sejamos atenciosos uns para com os outros, a fim de incentivar o amor e as boas obras;
25não abandonando a nossa reunião, como é o costume de alguns. Ao contrário, encorajemos uns aos outros , e tanto mais quanto vedes aquele dia se aproximando.
26Pois se nós, depois de havermos recebido o conhecimento da verdade, persistirmos pecando por vontade própria, já não resta mais sacrifício pelos pecados;
27em vez disso, certa terrível expectativa de julgamento, e um fogo de indignação que consumirá os adversários.
28Se alguém que rejeita a Lei de Moisés morre sem misericórdia com base na palavra de duas ou três testemunhas,
29de quanto pior castigo vós pensais que será julgado merecedor aquele que pisou o Filho de Deus, menosprezou ) o sangue do Testamento no qual ele foi santificado, e insultou o Espírito da graça?
30Pois nós conhecemos aquele que disse: A vingança é minha; eu retribuirei, diz o Senhor. E outra vez: O Senhor julgará o seu povo. Deuteronômio 32:35,36
31Cair nas mãos do Deus vivo é algo terrível.
32Lembrai-vos, porém, dos dias passados, em que, depois de serdes iluminados, suportastes grande combate de aflições,
33quando, em parte, fostes expostos em público tanto a insultos, como a tribulações, e em parte, fostes companheiros daqueles que assim foram tratados.
34Pois também vos compadecestes das minhas prisões, e com alegria aceitastes a espoliação dos vossos bens, pois sabeis em vós mesmos que tendes nos Céus um bem melhor e permanente.
35Portanto, não rejeiteis a vossa confiança, que tem uma grande recompensa;
36pois precisais de paciência, a fim de que, depois que houverdes feito a vontade de Deus, recebais o que foi prometido.
37Pois ainda um pouquinho de tempo, e aquele que vem virá, e não tardará. Isaías 26:20, Habacuque 2:3
38Mas o justo viverá pela fé; e se ele retroceder, a minha alma não tem prazer nele. Habacuque 2:4
39Mas nós não somos dos que retrocedem para a perdição, mas sim dos que creem para a conservação da alma.

1PORQUE la ley, teniendo la sombra de los bienes venideros, no la imagen misma de las cosas, nunca puede, por los mismos sacrificios que ofrecen continuamente cada año, hacer perfectos á los que se allegan.
2De otra manera cesarían de ofrecerse; porque los que tributan este culto, limpios de una vez, no tendrían más conciencia de pecado.
3Empero en estos sacrificios cada año se hace conmemoración de los pecados.
4Porque la sangre de los toros y de los machos cabríos no puede quitar los pecados.
5Por lo cual, entrando en el mundo, dice: Sacrificio y presente no quisiste; mas me apropiaste cuerpo:
6Holocaustos y expiaciones por el pecado no te agradaron.
7Entonces dije: Heme aquí (en la cabecera del libro está escrito de mí) para que haga, oh Dios, tu voluntad.
8Diciendo arriba: Sacrificio y presente, y holocaustos y expiaciones por el pecado no quisiste, ni te agradaron, (las cuales cosas se ofrecen según la ley,)
9Entonces dijo: Heme aquí para que haga, oh Dios, tu voluntad. Quita lo primero, para establecer lo postrero.
10En la cual voluntad somos santificados por la ofrenda del cuerpo de Jesucristo hecha una sola vez.
11Así que, todo sacerdote se presenta cada día ministrando y ofreciendo muchas veces los mismos sacrificios, que nunca pueden quitar los pecados:
12Pero éste, habiendo ofrecido por los pecados un solo sacrificio para siempre, está sentado á la diestra de Dios,
13Esperando lo que resta, hasta que sus enemigos sean puestos por estrado de sus pies.
14Porque con una sola ofrenda hizo perfectos para siempre á los santificados.
15Y atestíguanos lo mismo el Espíritu Santo; que después que dijo:
16Y este es el pacto que haré con ellos después de aquellos días, dice el Señor: Daré mis leyes en sus corazones, y en sus almas las escribiré;
17Añade: Y nunca más me acordaré de sus pecados é iniquidades.
18Pues donde hay remisión de éstos, no hay más ofrenda por pecado.
19Así que, hermanos, teniendo libertad para entrar en el santuario por la sangre de Jesucristo,
20Por el camino que él nos consagró nuevo y vivo, por el velo, esto es, por su carne;
21Y teniendo un gran sacerdote sobre la casa de Dios,
22Lleguémonos con corazón verdadero, en plena certidumbre de fe, purificados los corazones de mala conciencia, y lavados los cuerpos con agua limpia.
23Mantengamos firme la profesión de nuestra fe sin fluctuar; que fiel es el que prometió:
24Y considerémonos los unos á los otros para provocarnos al amor y á las buenas obras;
25No dejando nuestra congregación, como algunos tienen por costumbre, mas exhortándonos; y tanto más, cuanto veis que aquel día se acerca.
26Porque si pecáremos voluntariamente después de haber recibido el conocimiento de la verdad, ya no queda sacrificio por el pecado.
27Sino una horrenda esperanza de juicio, y hervor de fuego que ha de devorar á los adversarios.
28El que menospreciare la ley de Moisés, por el testimonio de dos ó de tres testigos muere sin ninguna misericordia:
29¿Cuánto pensáis que será más digno de mayor castigo, el que hollare al Hijo de Dios, y tuviere por inmunda la sangre del testamento, en la cual fué santificado, é hiciere afrenta al Espíritu de gracia?
30Sabemos quién es el que dijo: Mía es la venganza, yo daré el pago, dice el Señor. Y otra vez: El Señor juzgará su pueblo.
31Horrenda cosa es caer en las manos del Dios vivo.
32Empero traed á la memoria los días pasados, en los cuales, después de haber sido iluminados, sufristeis gran combate de aflicciones:
33Por una parte, ciertamente, con vituperios y tribulaciones fuisteis hechos espectáculo; y por otra parte hechos compañeros de los que estaban en tal estado.
34Porque de mis prisiones también os resentisteis conmigo, y el robo de vuestros bienes padecisteis con gozo, conociendo que tenéis en vosotros una mejor sustancia en los cielos, y que permanece.
35No perdáis pues vuestra confianza, que tiene grande remuneración de galardón:
36Porque la paciencia os es necesaria; para que, habiendo hecho la voluntad de Dios, obtengáis la promesa.
37Porque aun un poquito, y el que ha de venir vendrá, y no tardará.
38Ahora el justo vivirá por fe; mas si se retirare, no agradará á mi alma.
39Pero nosotros no somos tales que nos retiremos para perdición, sino fieles para ganancia del alma.

1For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
2For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
3But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
4For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
5Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
6In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
7Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
8Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;
9Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
10By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
12But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
13From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
14For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
15Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
16This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
17And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
18Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
19Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
20By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
21And having an high priest over the house of God;
22Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
23Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
24And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
26For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
28He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
30For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
31It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
32But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;
33Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.
34For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.
35Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
36For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
37For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
38Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
39But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
World English Bible
1For the law, having a shadow of the good to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect those who draw near.
2Or else wouldn’t they have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having been once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins?
3But in those sacrifices there is a yearly reminder of sins.
4For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins.
5Therefore when he comes into the world, he says, “You didn’t desire sacrifice and offering, but you prepared a body for me.
6You had no pleasure in whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin.
7Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come (in the scroll of the book it is written of me) to do your will, O God.’”
8Previously saying, “Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you didn’t desire, neither had pleasure in them” (those which are offered according to the law),
9then he has said, “Behold, I have come to do your will.” He takes away the first, that he may establish the second,
10by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11Every priest indeed stands day by day serving and offering often the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins,
12but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God,
13from that time waiting until his enemies are made the footstool of his feet.
14For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.
15The Holy Spirit also testifies to us, for after saying,
16“This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days,” says the Lord, “I will put my laws on their heart, I will also write them on their mind;” then he says,
17“I will remember their sins and their iniquities no more.”
18Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
19Having therefore, brothers, boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus,
20by the way which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh,
21and having a great priest over God’s house,
22let’s draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and having our body washed with pure water,
23let’s hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful.
24Let’s consider how to provoke one another to love and good works,
25not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
26For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more a sacrifice for sins,
27but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and a fierceness of fire which will devour the adversaries.
28A man who disregards Moses’ law dies without compassion on the word of two or three witnesses.
29How much worse punishment do you think he will be judged worthy of who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?
30For we know him who said, “Vengeance belongs to me. I will repay,” says the Lord. Again, “The Lord will judge his people.”
31It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
32But remember the former days, in which, after you were enlightened, you endured a great struggle with sufferings:
33partly, being exposed to both reproaches and oppressions, and partly, becoming partakers with those who were treated so.
34For you both had compassion on me in my chains and joyfully accepted the plundering of your possessions, knowing that you have for yourselves a better possession and an enduring one in the heavens.
35Therefore don’t throw away your boldness, which has a great reward.
36For you need endurance so that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise.
37“In a very little while, he who comes will come and will not wait.
38But the righteous one will live by faith. If he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.”
39But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the saving of the soul.
