La Ley, que tiene la sombra de los bienes futuros, no la misma imagen de las cosas, nunca puede perfeccionar a los que se acercan por medio de los mismos sacrificios que se ofrecen continuamente cada año.
PORQUE la ley, teniendo la sombra de los bienes venideros, no la imagen misma de las cosas, nunca puede, por los mismos sacrificios que ofrecen continuamente cada año, hacer perfectos á los que se allegan.
For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

Si así fuera, ¿no habrían dejado de ofrecerse, después de ser purificados una vez, por ya no estar conscientes de haber pecado?
De otra manera cesarían de ofrecerse; porque los que tributan este culto, limpios de una vez, no tendrían más conciencia de pecado.
For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
Or else wouldn’t they have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having been once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins?
Pero con los sacrificios hay un recuerdo de pecados cada año,
Empero en estos sacrificios cada año se hace conmemoración de los pecados.
But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
But in those sacrifices there is a yearly reminder of sins.
porque es imposible que la sangre de toros y machos cabríos borre pecados.
Porque la sangre de los toros y de los machos cabríos no puede quitar los pecados.
For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

Por tanto Cristo, al entrar en el mundo, dice: Sacrificio y ofrenda no quisiste, Pero me preparaste cuerpo.
Por lo cual, entrando en el mundo, dice: Sacrificio y presente no quisiste; mas me apropiaste cuerpo:
Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
Therefore when he comes into the world, he says, “You didn’t desire sacrifice and offering, but you prepared a body for me.
Holocaustos y sacrificios por los pecados no te deleitaron.
Holocaustos y expiaciones por el pecado no te agradaron.
In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
You had no pleasure in whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin.
Entonces dije: Aquí vengo, oh Dios, para hacer tu voluntad, Como en la cabecilla de un rollo fue escrito acerca de Mí.
Entonces dije: Heme aquí (en la cabecera del libro está escrito de mí) para que haga, oh Dios, tu voluntad.
Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come (in the scroll of the book it is written of me) to do your will, O God.’”
Dijo antes: Sacrificios, ofrendas y holocaustos por el pecado, ofrecidos según la Ley, no quisiste ni te agradaron.
Diciendo arriba: Sacrificio y presente, y holocaustos y expiaciones por el pecado no quisiste, ni te agradaron, (las cuales cosas se ofrecen según la ley,)
Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;
Previously saying, “Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you didn’t desire, neither had pleasure in them” (those which are offered according to the law),
Entonces dijo: Aquí estoy. Vengo para hacer tu voluntad. Él quita lo primero para establecer lo segundo.
Entonces dijo: Heme aquí para que haga, oh Dios, tu voluntad. Quita lo primero, para establecer lo postrero.
Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
then he has said, “Behold, I have come to do your will.” He takes away the first, that he may establish the second,
Según esta voluntad fuimos santificados una vez por todas mediante la ofrenda del cuerpo de Jesucristo.
En la cual voluntad somos santificados por la ofrenda del cuerpo de Jesucristo hecha una sola vez.
By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Todo sacerdote ciertamente está en pie cada día, ministra y ofrece muchas veces los mismos sacrificios que nunca pueden remover pecados.
Así que, todo sacerdote se presenta cada día ministrando y ofreciendo muchas veces los mismos sacrificios, que nunca pueden quitar los pecados:
And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
Every priest indeed stands day by day serving and offering often the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins,
Pero Éste, después de ofrecer un solo sacrificio para siempre por los pecados, se sentó a la derecha de Dios,
Pero éste, habiendo ofrecido por los pecados un solo sacrificio para siempre, está sentado á la diestra de Dios,
But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

y desde entonces espera hasta que sus enemigos sean puestos como tarima de sus pies.
Esperando lo que resta, hasta que sus enemigos sean puestos por estrado de sus pies.

Porque Cristo perfeccionó para siempre a los santificados con una sola ofrenda.

For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

El Espíritu Santo también testifica, porque después de decir:
Y atestíguanos lo mismo el Espíritu Santo; que después que dijo:
Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,

Este es el Pacto que haré con ellos después de aquellos días, dice el Señor: pondré mis Leyes en sus corazones, y las escribiré en sus mentes,
Y este es el pacto que haré con ellos después de aquellos días, dice el Señor: Daré mis leyes en sus corazones, y en sus almas las escribiré;
This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
“This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days,” says the Lord, “I will put my laws on their heart, I will also write them on their mind;” then he says,
añade: Nunca más me acordaré de sus pecados ni de sus iniquidades.
Añade: Y nunca más me acordaré de sus pecados é iniquidades.
And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
“I will remember their sins and their iniquities no more.”
Donde hay perdón, ya no hay ofrenda por el pecado.
Pues donde hay remisión de éstos, no hay más ofrenda por pecado.

Así que, hermanos, puesto que tenemos confianza para entrar al Lugar Santísimo por la sangre de Jesús,

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Sostengamos firme la confesión de nuestra esperanza sin fluctuar, porque el que prometió es fiel.

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
let’s hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful.
Considerémonos los unos a los otros para estimularnos al amor y las buenas obras,
Y considerémonos los unos á los otros para provocarnos al amor y á las buenas obras;
And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

sin dejar de congregarnos, como algunos acostumbran, sino exhortémonos, y tanto más cuando ven que el día se acerca.

Porque si continuamos voluntariamente en el pecado, después de recibir el conocimiento de la verdad, ya no queda sacrificio por los pecados,

sino una horrenda espera de juicio y ardor de fuego que devora a los adversarios.

Por el testimonio de dos o tres testigos, el que viola la Ley de Moisés muere sin compasión.
El que menospreciare la ley de Moisés, por el testimonio de dos ó de tres testigos muere sin ninguna misericordia:
He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
A man who disregards Moses’ law dies without compassion on the word of two or three witnesses.
¿Cuánto castigo peor merece el que pisotea al Hijo de Dios, tiene como impura la sangre del Pacto por la cual fue santificado y afrenta al Espíritu de la gracia?
¿Cuánto pensáis que será más digno de mayor castigo, el que hollare al Hijo de Dios, y tuviere por inmunda la sangre del testamento, en la cual fué santificado, é hiciere afrenta al Espíritu de gracia?
Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
How much worse punishment do you think he will be judged worthy of who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?
Porque conocemos al que dijo: Mía es la venganza. Yo pagaré. Y otra vez: El Señor juzgará a su pueblo.
Sabemos quién es el que dijo: Mía es la venganza, yo daré el pago, dice el Señor. Y otra vez: El Señor juzgará su pueblo.
For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
For we know him who said, “Vengeance belongs to me. I will repay,” says the Lord. Again, “The Lord will judge his people.”

Pero recuerden los días pasados en los cuales, después de ser iluminados, soportaron una gran lucha de padecimientos.
Empero traed á la memoria los días pasados, en los cuales, después de haber sido iluminados, sufristeis gran combate de aflicciones:
But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;
But remember the former days, in which, after you were enlightened, you endured a great struggle with sufferings:
Al ser sometidos a reproches y aflicciones, ciertamente fueron compañeros de los maltratados.
Por una parte, ciertamente, con vituperios y tribulaciones fuisteis hechos espectáculo; y por otra parte hechos compañeros de los que estaban en tal estado.
Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.
partly, being exposed to both reproaches and oppressions, and partly, becoming partakers with those who were treated so.
Porque se compadecieron de los presos y sufrieron con gozo el despojo de sus bienes, pues saben que tienen una herencia mejor y perdurable en los cielos.
Porque de mis prisiones también os resentisteis conmigo, y el robo de vuestros bienes padecisteis con gozo, conociendo que tenéis en vosotros una mejor sustancia en los cielos, y que permanece.
For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.
For you both had compassion on me in my chains and joyfully accepted the plundering of your possessions, knowing that you have for yourselves a better possession and an enduring one in the heavens.
Por tanto no pierdan su confianza pues tienen una gran recompensa.
No perdáis pues vuestra confianza, que tiene grande remuneración de galardón:
Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
Therefore don’t throw away your boldness, which has a great reward.
Porque es necesaria la paciencia, para que, después de hacer la voluntad de Dios, obtengan la promesa.
Porque la paciencia os es necesaria; para que, habiendo hecho la voluntad de Dios, obtengáis la promesa.
For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
For you need endurance so that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise.
Porque aún un poco, y el que viene vendrá, y no tardará.
Porque aun un poquito, y el que ha de venir vendrá, y no tardará.
For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
“In a very little while, he who comes will come and will not wait.
Pero el justo vivirá por fe. Y si retrocede, mi alma no se deleitará en él.
Ahora el justo vivirá por fe; mas si se retirare, no agradará á mi alma.
Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
But the righteous one will live by faith. If he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.”
Pero nosotros no somos de los que retroceden para destrucción, sino de los que tienen fe para la preservación del alma.

But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the saving of the soul.
