Denn weil das Gesetz nur einen Schatten der zukünftigen Güter hat, nicht das Ebenbild der Dinge selbst, so kann es auch mit den gleichen alljährlichen Opfern, welche man immer wieder darbringt, die Hinzutretenden niemals vollkommen machen!

PORQUE la ley, teniendo la sombra de los bienes venideros, no la imagen misma de las cosas, nunca puede, por los mismos sacrificios que ofrecen continuamente cada año, hacer perfectos á los que se allegan.

For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

Hätte man sonst nicht aufgehört, Opfer darzubringen, wenn die, welche den Gottesdienst verrichten, einmal gereinigt, kein Bewußtsein von Sünden mehr gehabt hätten?

De otra manera cesarían de ofrecerse; porque los que tributan este culto, limpios de una vez, no tendrían más conciencia de pecado.

For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.

Or else wouldn’t they have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having been once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins?

Statt dessen erfolgt durch dieselben nur alle Jahre eine Erinnerung an die Sünden.

Empero en estos sacrificios cada año se hace conmemoración de los pecados.

But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.

But in those sacrifices there is a yearly reminder of sins.

Denn unmöglich kann Blut von Ochsen und Böcken Sünden wegnehmen!

Porque la sangre de los toros y de los machos cabríos no puede quitar los pecados.

For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

Darum spricht er bei seinem Eintritt in die Welt: «Opfer und Gaben hast du nicht gewollt; einen Leib aber hast du mir zubereitet.

Por lo cual, entrando en el mundo, dice: Sacrificio y presente no quisiste; mas me apropiaste cuerpo:

Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

Therefore when he comes into the world, he says, “You didn’t desire sacrifice and offering, but you prepared a body for me.

Brandopfer und Sündopfer gefallen dir nicht.

Holocaustos y expiaciones por el pecado no te agradaron.

In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.

You had no pleasure in whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin.

Da sprach ich: Siehe, ich komme (in der Buchrolle steht von mir geschrieben), daß ich tue, o Gott, deinen Willen.»

Entonces dije: Heme aquí (en la cabecera del libro está escrito de mí) para que haga, oh Dios, tu voluntad.

Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come (in the scroll of the book it is written of me) to do your will, O God.’”

Indem er oben sagt: «Opfer und Gaben, Brandopfer und Sündopfer hast du nicht gewollt, sie gefallen dir auch nicht» (die nach dem Gesetz dargebracht werden),

Diciendo arriba: Sacrificio y presente, y holocaustos y expiaciones por el pecado no quisiste, ni te agradaron, (las cuales cosas se ofrecen según la ley,)

Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;

Previously saying, “Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you didn’t desire, neither had pleasure in them” (those which are offered according to the law),

und dann fortfährt: «Siehe, ich komme, zu tun deinen Willen», hebt er das erstere auf, um das andere einzusetzen.

Entonces dijo: Heme aquí para que haga, oh Dios, tu voluntad. Quita lo primero, para establecer lo postrero.

Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

then he has said, “Behold, I have come to do your will.” He takes away the first, that he may establish the second,

In diesem Willen sind wir geheiligt durch die Aufopferung des Leibes Jesu Christi ein für allemal.

En la cual voluntad somos santificados por la ofrenda del cuerpo de Jesucristo hecha una sola vez.

By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Und jeder Priester steht da und verrichtet täglich den Gottesdienst und bringt öfters dieselben Opfer dar, welche doch niemals Sünden wegnehmen können;

Así que, todo sacerdote se presenta cada día ministrando y ofreciendo muchas veces los mismos sacrificios, que nunca pueden quitar los pecados:

And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

Every priest indeed stands day by day serving and offering often the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins,

dieser aber hat sich, nachdem er ein einziges Opfer für die Sünden dargebracht hat, für immer zur Rechten Gottes gesetzt

Pero éste, habiendo ofrecido por los pecados un solo sacrificio para siempre, está sentado á la diestra de Dios,

But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God,

und wartet hinfort, bis alle seine Feinde als Schemel seiner Füße hingelegt werden;

Esperando lo que resta, hasta que sus enemigos sean puestos por estrado de sus pies.

From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

from that time waiting until his enemies are made the footstool of his feet.

denn mit einem einzigen Opfer hat er die, welche geheiligt werden, für immer vollendet.

Porque con una sola ofrenda hizo perfectos para siempre á los santificados.

For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

Das bezeugt uns aber auch der heilige Geist;

Y atestíguanos lo mismo el Espíritu Santo; que después que dijo:

Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,

denn, nachdem gesagt worden ist: «Das ist der Bund, den ich mit ihnen schließen will nach diesen Tagen», spricht der Herr: «Ich will meine Gesetze in ihre Herzen geben und sie in ihre Sinne schreiben,

Y este es el pacto que haré con ellos después de aquellos días, dice el Señor: Daré mis leyes en sus corazones, y en sus almas las escribiré;

This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

“This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days,” says the Lord, “I will put my laws on their heart, I will also write them on their mind;” then he says,

und ihrer Sünden und ihrer Ungerechtigkeiten will ich nicht mehr gedenken.»

Añade: Y nunca más me acordaré de sus pecados é iniquidades.

And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

“I will remember their sins and their iniquities no more.”

Wo aber Vergebung für diese ist, da ist kein Opfer mehr für Sünde.

Pues donde hay remisión de éstos, no hay más ofrenda por pecado.

Da wir nun, ihr Brüder, kraft des Blutes Jesu Freimütigkeit haben zum Eingang in das Heiligtum,

Así que, hermanos, teniendo libertad para entrar en el santuario por la sangre de Jesucristo,

welchen er uns eingeweiht hat als neuen und lebendigen Weg durch den Vorhang hindurch, das heißt, durch sein Fleisch,

Por el camino que él nos consagró nuevo y vivo, por el velo, esto es, por su carne;

By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

by the way which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh,

und einen †so großen Priester über das Haus Gottes haben,

Y teniendo un gran sacerdote sobre la casa de Dios,

And having an high priest over the house of God;

and having a great priest over God’s house,

so lasset uns hinzutreten mit wahrhaftigem Herzen, in voller Glaubenszuversicht, durch Besprengung der Herzen los vom bösen Gewissen und gewaschen am Leibe mit reinem Wasser.

Lleguémonos con corazón verdadero, en plena certidumbre de fe, purificados los corazones de mala conciencia, y lavados los cuerpos con agua limpia.

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Lasset uns festhalten am Bekenntnis der Hoffnung, ohne zu wanken (denn er ist treu, der die Verheißung gegeben hat);

Mantengamos firme la profesión de nuestra fe sin fluctuar; que fiel es el que prometió:

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

let’s hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful.

und lasset uns aufeinander achten, uns gegenseitig anzuspornen zur Liebe und zu guten Werken,

Y considerémonos los unos á los otros para provocarnos al amor y á las buenas obras;

And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

Let’s consider how to provoke one another to love and good works,

indem wir unsere eigene Versammlung nicht verlassen, wie etliche zu tun pflegen, sondern einander ermahnen, und das um so viel mehr, als ihr den Tag herannahen sehet!

No dejando nuestra congregación, como algunos tienen por costumbre, mas exhortándonos; y tanto más, cuanto veis que aquel día se acerca.

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Denn wenn wir freiwillig sündigen, nachdem wir die Erkenntnis der Wahrheit empfangen haben, so bleibt für Sünden kein Opfer mehr übrig,

Porque si pecáremos voluntariamente después de haber recibido el conocimiento de la verdad, ya no queda sacrificio por el pecado.

For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

sondern ein schreckliches Erwarten des Gerichts und Feuereifers, der die Widerspenstigen verzehren wird.

Sino una horrenda esperanza de juicio, y hervor de fuego que ha de devorar á los adversarios.

But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Wenn jemand das Gesetz Moses mißachtet, muß er ohne Barmherzigkeit auf die Aussage von zwei oder drei Zeugen hin sterben,

El que menospreciare la ley de Moisés, por el testimonio de dos ó de tres testigos muere sin ninguna misericordia:

He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

A man who disregards Moses’ law dies without compassion on the word of two or three witnesses.

wieviel ärgerer Strafe, meinet ihr, wird derjenige schuldig erachtet werden, der den Sohn Gottes mit Füßen getreten und das Blut des Bundes, durch welches er geheiligt wurde, für gemein geachtet und den Geist der Gnade geschmäht hat?

¿Cuánto pensáis que será más digno de mayor castigo, el que hollare al Hijo de Dios, y tuviere por inmunda la sangre del testamento, en la cual fué santificado, é hiciere afrenta al Espíritu de gracia?

Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

How much worse punishment do you think he will be judged worthy of who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?

Denn wir kennen den, der da sagt: «Die Rache ist mein; ich will vergelten!» und wiederum: «Der Herr wird sein Volk richten».

Sabemos quién es el que dijo: Mía es la venganza, yo daré el pago, dice el Señor. Y otra vez: El Señor juzgará su pueblo.

For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

For we know him who said, “Vengeance belongs to me. I will repay,” says the Lord. Again, “The Lord will judge his people.”

Schrecklich ist es, in die Hände des lebendigen Gottes zu fallen!

Horrenda cosa es caer en las manos del Dios vivo.

Gedenket aber der früheren Tage, in welchen ihr nach eurer Erleuchtung unter Leiden viel Kampf erduldet habt,

Empero traed á la memoria los días pasados, en los cuales, después de haber sido iluminados, sufristeis gran combate de aflicciones:

But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;

But remember the former days, in which, after you were enlightened, you endured a great struggle with sufferings:

da ihr teils selbst Schmähungen und Drangsalen öffentlich preisgegeben waret, teils mit denen Gemeinschaft hattet, welche so behandelt wurden;

Por una parte, ciertamente, con vituperios y tribulaciones fuisteis hechos espectáculo; y por otra parte hechos compañeros de los que estaban en tal estado.

Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.

partly, being exposed to both reproaches and oppressions, and partly, becoming partakers with those who were treated so.

denn ihr habt den Gefangenen Teilnahme bewiesen und den Raub eurer Güter mit Freuden hingenommen, in der Erkenntnis, daß ihr selbst ein besseres und bleibendes Gut besitzet.

Porque de mis prisiones también os resentisteis conmigo, y el robo de vuestros bienes padecisteis con gozo, conociendo que tenéis en vosotros una mejor sustancia en los cielos, y que permanece.

For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.

For you both had compassion on me in my chains and joyfully accepted the plundering of your possessions, knowing that you have for yourselves a better possession and an enduring one in the heavens.

So werfet nun eure Freimütigkeit nicht weg, welche eine große Belohnung hat!

No perdáis pues vuestra confianza, que tiene grande remuneración de galardón:

Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.

Therefore don’t throw away your boldness, which has a great reward.

Denn Ausdauer tut euch not, damit ihr nach Erfüllung des göttlichen Willens die Verheißung erlanget.

Porque la paciencia os es necesaria; para que, habiendo hecho la voluntad de Dios, obtengáis la promesa.

For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

For you need endurance so that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise.

Denn noch eine kleine, ganz kleine Weile, so wird kommen, der da kommen soll und nicht verziehen.

Porque aun un poquito, y el que ha de venir vendrá, y no tardará.

For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

“In a very little while, he who comes will come and will not wait.

«Mein Gerechter aber wird aus Glauben leben; zieht er sich aber aus Feigheit zurück, so wird meine Seele kein Wohlgefallen an ihm haben.»

Ahora el justo vivirá por fe; mas si se retirare, no agradará á mi alma.

Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

But the righteous one will live by faith. If he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.”

Wir aber sind nicht von denen, die feige zurückweichen zum Verderben, sondern die da glauben zur Rettung der Seele.

Pero nosotros no somos tales que nos retiremos para perdición, sino fieles para ganancia del alma.

But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the saving of the soul.
