Por eso, también nosotros, que estamos rodeados de tantos testigos, dejemos a un lado lo que nos estorba, en especial el pecado que nos molesta, y corramos con paciencia la carrera que tenemos por delante.

Mantengamos fija la mirada en Jesús, pues de él viene nuestra fe y él es quien la perfecciona. Él, por el gozo que le esperaba, soportó la cruz y no le dio importancia a la vergüenza que eso significaba, y ahora está sentado a la derecha del trono de Dios.
Puestos los ojos en al autor y consumador de la fe, en Jesús; el cual, habiéndole sido propuesto gozo, sufrió la cruz, menospreciando la vergüenza, y sentóse á la diestra del trono de Dios.
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Por eso, piensen en el ejemplo que él nos dejó, pues siguió adelante a pesar de tanta oposición por parte de los pecadores. Por tanto, no se cansen ni pierdan el ánimo,
Reducid pues á vuestro pensamiento á aquel que sufrió tal contradicción de pecadores contra sí mismo, porque no os fatiguéis en vuestros ánimos desmayando.
For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

ya que en la lucha que ustedes tienen contra el pecado, todavía no han tenido que resistir hasta derramar su sangre.
Que aun no habéis resistido hasta la sangre, combatiendo contra el pecado:
Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

Acaso han olvidado ya las palabras de aliento que como a hijos se les dirige: «Hijo mío, no tomes como algo sin importancia la disciplina del Señor ni te desalientes cuando te reprenda,
Y estáis ya olvidados de la exhortación que como con hijos habla con vosotros, diciendo: Hijo mío, no menosprecies el castigo del Señor, ni desmayes cuando eres de él reprendido.
And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
You have forgotten the exhortation which reasons with you as with children, “My son, don’t take lightly the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when you are reproved by him;
porque el Señor disciplina a los que ama, y azota a todo aquel a quien recibe como hijo».
Porque el Señor al que ama castiga, y azota á cualquiera que recibe por hijo.
For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
for whom the Lord loves, he disciplines, and chastises every son whom he receives.”
Lo que ustedes están sufriendo es para disciplinarlos, pues Dios los está tratando como a hijos.
Si sufrís el castigo, Dios se os presenta como á hijos; porque ¿qué hijo es aquel á quien el padre no castiga?
If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
It is for discipline that you endure. God deals with you as with children, for what son is there whom his father doesn’t discipline?
Si a ustedes no los disciplinan como se disciplina a todo hijo, entonces ustedes no son verdaderamente hijos.
Mas si estáis fuera del castigo, del cual todos han sido hechos participantes, luego sois bastardos, y no hijos.
But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
But if you are without discipline, of which all have been made partakers, then you are illegitimate, and not children.
Por otra parte, nuestros padres humanos nos disciplinaban y los respetábamos. ¡Con cuánta mayor razón debemos someternos al Padre de los espíritus, para que tengamos vida!
Por otra parte, tuvimos por castigadores á los padres de nuestra carne, y los reverenciábamos, ¿por qué no obedeceremos mucho mejor al Padre de los espíritus, y viviremos?

Nuestros padres nos disciplinaban por breve tiempo, de acuerdo con lo que a ellos les parecía mejor; pero Dios lo hace para nuestro bien, para que seamos santos como él.
Y aquéllos, á la verdad, por pocos días nos castigaban como á ellos les parecía, mas éste para lo que nos es provechoso, para que recibamos su santificación.
For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

Por supuesto que ninguna disciplina parece agradable al momento de recibirla; más bien duele. Sin embargo, si aprendemos la lección, los que hemos sido disciplinados tendremos justicia y paz.
Es verdad que ningún castigo al presente parece ser causa de gozo, sino de tristeza; mas después da fruto apacible de justicia á los que en él son ejercitados.
Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
All chastening seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
En fin, renueven las fuerzas de sus manos cansadas y de sus rodillas debilitadas.
Por lo cual alzad las manos caídas y las rodillas paralizadas;
Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;
Therefore lift up the hands that hang down and the feeble knees,
«Hagan caminos rectos para sus pies», para que la pierna coja no se tuerza, sino que sane.
Y haced derechos pasos á vuestros pies, porque lo que es cojo no salga fuera de camino, antes sea sanado.
And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.

Busquen la paz con todos y lleven una vida santa, pues sin santidad nadie verá al Señor.

Asegúrense de que a nadie le falte el amor de Dios; de que ninguna raíz amarga brote y cause problemas y envenene a muchos.
Mirando bien que ninguno se aparte de la gracia de Dios, que ninguna raíz de amargura brotando os impida, y por ella muchos sean contaminados;
Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;

Que nadie ande en pecados sexuales ni desprecie a Dios como lo hizo Esaú. Pues él, por un solo plato de comida, vendió sus derechos de hijo mayor.
Que ninguno sea fornicario, ó profano, como Esaú, que por una vianda vendió su primogenitura.
Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.

Y después, como ustedes ya saben, quiso heredar esa bendición, ¡pero fue rechazado!; y, aunque con lágrimas buscó la bendición, no se le dio oportunidad de arrepentirse.
Porque ya sabéis que aun después, deseando heredar la bendición, fué reprobado (que no halló lugar de arrepentimiento), aunque la procuró con lágrimas.
For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

Ustedes no se acercaron a una montaña que se podía tocar y que ardía en fuego, donde había oscuridad, tinieblas y tormenta;
Porque no os habéis llegado al monte que se podía tocar, y al fuego encendido, y al turbión, y á la oscuridad, y á la tempestad,
For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,
For you have not come to a mountain that might be touched and that burned with fire, and to blackness, darkness, storm,
ni oyeron el sonido de trompeta ni la voz que, cuando hablaba, los que la oyeron rogaron que no les hablara más,
Y al sonido de la trompeta, y á la voz de las palabras, la cual los que la oyeron rogaron que no se les hablase más;
And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:

porque no podían soportar la orden que decía: «Deben apedrear o matar con lanzas a todo aquel que toque la montaña, aunque sea un animal».
Porque no podían tolerar lo que se mandaba: Si bestia tocare al monte, será apedreada, ó pasada con dardo.
(For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart:
for they could not stand that which was commanded, “If even an animal touches the mountain, it shall be stoned”.
Tan terrible era lo que vieron, que Moisés dijo: «Estoy temblando de miedo».

Ustedes, por el contrario, se han acercado al monte Sion, a la Jerusalén celestial, la ciudad del Dios viviente. Se han acercado a la reunión de millares de ángeles,
Mas os habéis llegado al monte de Sión, y á la ciudad del Dios vivo, Jerusalem la celestial, y á la compañía de muchos millares de ángeles,
But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

a la iglesia de los primogénitos inscritos en el cielo. Se han acercado a Dios, el Juez de todos; a los espíritus de los justos que han llegado a la perfección.
Y á la congregación de los primogénitos que están alistados en los cielos, y á Dios el Juez de todos, y á los espíritus de los justos hechos perfectos,

Se han acercado a Jesús, el mediador del nuevo pacto, y a la sangre rociada, que habla con más fuerza que la sangre de Abel.

Tengan cuidado de no rechazar al que habla, pues si no escaparon aquellos que rechazaron al que les llamaba la atención en la tierra, mucho menos escaparemos nosotros si le damos la espalda al que nos llama la atención desde el cielo.
Mirad que no desechéis al que habla. Porque si aquellos no escaparon que desecharon al que hablaba en la tierra, mucho menos nosotros, si desecháramos al que habla de los cielos.
See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:
See that you don’t refuse him who speaks. For if they didn’t escape when they refused him who warned on the earth, how much more will we not escape who turn away from him who warns from heaven,
En aquella ocasión, su voz hizo temblar la tierra. Pero ahora ha prometido: «Una vez más haré que tiemble no sólo la tierra sino también el cielo».
La voz del cual entonces conmovió la tierra; mas ahora ha denunciado, diciendo: Aun una vez, y yo conmoveré no solamente la tierra, mas aun el cielo.
Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.

Cuando dice: «una vez más» se entiende que quitará las cosas creadas, las que se pueden mover, para que permanezca lo que no se puede alterar.
Y esta palabra, Aun una vez, declara la mudanza de las cosas movibles, como de cosas hechas, para que queden las cosas que son firmes.
And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
This phrase, “Yet once more” signifies the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that have been made, that those things which are not shaken may remain.
Así que nosotros, que estamos recibiendo un reino que no se puede alterar, seamos agradecidos. Y porque estamos agradecidos, adoremos a Dios como a él le gusta, con honra y reverencia.
Así que, tomando el reino inmóvil, retengamos la gracia por la cual sirvamos á Dios agradándole con temor y reverencia;
Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
Therefore, receiving a Kingdom that can’t be shaken, let’s have grace, through which we serve God acceptably, with reverence and awe,
Porque nuestro Dios es fuego consumidor.
